FunComs response to my support queary was to "try downloading during off-peak hours" and "check with your ISP" (gotta love the old standby of its not us its your ISP). My reply was "I have been downloading for over 72hrs and I have only received 10% of the game client, ...so when are these off-peak hours?"
here is FunCom Support Staffs final reply: Hello,
Kinda speaks for itself. But much more honest and straight forward than any official comment on the AoC forums. I am a FunCom customer, I played Anarchy Online for more than 5 years. I am used to their poor support, and lack of any statement or comments when they have severe issues. I am used to them saying one thing and doing another (any long time AO Vet will know the classic Gaute quote "There will be no camping in Shadowlands!") I watched FunCom "drop the ball" many times over the years. And after the Open Beta and now the handling of the "Head Start / Early Access" I can say I am glad I was optimistic but careful, I put the minimum deposit on the Age of Conan Collectors Edition. I may or may not pick up a copy of the game, but it certainly won't be the CE and it may not be anytime soon. Call me a glutton for punishment by I am actually hoping FunCom's next title "The Secret World" is handled much better than Conan has been (last I heard Gaute was not in charge of its development). So maybe today AoC forum is full of "I am sueing cause I didnt get in Early Acess", yesterday posts were much more legit and hint at serious problems with the comming launch

After reading this article, to me there is only one question left unanswered.
Is Brad going threw with the operation to get Metal Legs? I understand it's pretty risky... |
