I am now done with MMO's - prolly wont even log onto this acct I have held for many years here - GW2 looks promising but thats the last bastion of hope for MMO's

They are most certainly not breaking any laws in any country. Yeah go up to a judge and show him some videos and "omg lag!" and hes going to be like "and whats your point?"

Exactly, I mean heres an example:

I was mainly focused on bows, and had a super awesome 60 rating bow (its been a while I think they have 10,20,30,40,50,60,70 ratings) - I had been palying for about 2 months casually, got this bow off a body I found in the wild.

Anyways to make it short, a super group of super elites ran up to me one day and I started running, they just stood there. One of em got off and started to come at me, the other stayed on their mounts. None of his friends helped, so I figured I would be ganked anyways, and I rly loved this bow. So I unload on this guy, hit him with magic, my 60 rating bow, everything I had. IT DIDNT EVEN PHYSICALLY MAKE HIS HP BAR GO DOWN. Dude finally gets to me, one swing with a 2h sword (im fully armored in chain) and im dead.

the point is he can 1 shot kill me, but even with a good bow and 3 months of gameplay, I cant even make his HP go down.

The person controlling the char should have played at least 1 MMO before he did this demo - MMORPG.com just made FF look rly bad :(

As my reply to this thread may be a bit late - I must say the ONLY reason I quit Darkfall was because of 2 reasons:

1. The difference in HP between a newer casual player (2+ months) and a vet (1 year)

2. The relentless ganking of noobs in noob zones by super geared, mounted players. (literally I have never been ganked by someone of my gear/stat level)

So it seems they are taking steps in the right direction, but I just don't understand why elite, super chars go around killing people for virtually nothing but making them run for 15 minutes and lossing 100-200 gold and some loot.

Looks amazing - So much for WAR (not that it was going to last anyways)

This looks like the game MYthic shouldhave released as a next gen MMO

Out of any game doing an item mall - FE was among the few games I figured would never go this route? And like the article states - this isnt just little item mall items - this shits straight up gear purchasing

what chya expect? this game was dead when they took 2 years to re-mod their CO engine into a "mmo"

  People like to see other people (not npc's) running around inside the game they are playing, it gives the game some personality, some life, after a couple of quests they may chat for awhile, if a boss is to hard they may group, but if they are like me a group isnt always desireable because you have to follow along with the group dynamics.  same reason why people dont get married, like to date-yes , do I what to live with that person or any person THE REST OF MY LIFE nope

 well after playing a shitload of EVE I can def. say that not everyone can spend 2+ hours TRAVELING then 1 hour getting things organzied then 1 hour WAITING then a couple hours of crazy epic awesome combat....this is the only game that beats WoW when it comes to time sink for the fun content....which EVE certainly has some epic content if your willing to be patient.

As usual they are saying this x pack has more content for the solo-player...but like usual it depends on what you consider more content...which basically means u need a grp like always.

Attempts to hack an account are more pervalent for NCSOFT and Blizzard games.  I've never seen a phishing attempt for CoX, but I've seen plenty of them for AION and there was a whole thing about account "trades" when I played guild wars a few years back.  I haven't logged in in a while.  There were plenty of spammers in guild wars though, so I suppose if you weren't careful with your information you could have given someone something you shouldn't have.

 

 I understand what your saying...but after the facts....it is pervalent in every MMO...acct trading and gold selling will lead to hacks...and no doubt that happens a lot in GW and WoW

EDIT: For those thinking it is my fault I have only one thing to say. I have played scores of MMORPGs and was playing two others when my NCsoft account was hacked so the problem is definetely on their end.

Also when trying to get my account back they wanted me to give them my CoX serial id and CC, a game I haven't played for YEARS, and certainly still dont have the serial id  and CC left. My Aion serial ID and CC was apparently not enough.

Also, who the heck keeps old credit cards which are not valid anymore? How in the hell am I supposed to remember the number of a credit card I threw away years ago?

Aion and GW2 may be PUBLISHED (do you people even know what that word means) by NCSoft but I assure you their ways of handling account services is much different - as is evident by the difference of guild wars, aion, and L2.

Dudes when will you learn that Blizz don't give a damn how much a game is delayed? Not a bad thing either.
