neither themercs, nor RN (actually no one that's exploited and gained 30+ 100s) complains about the grind.  again, where are you getting this  from?

I have been playing for 2 months at 10-20 hours a week. I have two accounts. My main has above 50 in archery and goes out into the world. I have done some crafting.

if you're "exploiting" the new AE system in COH, those dev notes are what told you that you'd lose characters/get banned/whatever.

in DF, if you're swimming against the wall every  night, or afk'ing at a wall of pain - those dev notes are what told you that doing those things can/will result in bans and such.

what the hell does 2 even mean?  are you talking about single player games or MMO games in your "don't care about forming long term relationships"?

If DF were in better hands and being managed by people with more experience, and a PR person who knew when it was best to keep their mouth shut (which in Tasos case, would be almost all the time), what to say and what not to, and who was capable of speaking more than 5 sentences without lying or grossly spinning the obvious reality of things... I think there'd be a much different overall "tone" around here.

 

 

I can understand that to a point.

However here is how I differ. I had a long conversation with someone last night who said that they would in fact quit a game that they enjoy playing if some feature that was advertised (even during pre-release) was not in the game.

This is one area I differ in. I am not going to stop having sex becuase the girl promised me just a kiss. If I am having fun I keep on going.   <<< i believe sex is a LOT MORE than a kiss.   darkfall has cut out several dozen UNIQUE features... so  an accurate comparison to darkfall would be that you were promised sex, and what you got was a handshake

Now, second to that. The total tonage of BS that comes from game developers pre-game launch is massive and mega crazy huge. If I gamed out of prinicple I would never game much at all outside of maybe Diner Dash.  <<< um, a website listing game features SHOULD be fairly reliable.  at least to the point where they DON'T cut 90% of the promised unique features and still show all those features 1+ months post retail release. 

When I leave home from work each day I consider myself lucky if I can find something to do that is fun. I am not going to remove that fun factor time because some game company promised something different.  <<< seriously, have you been following darkfall for more than a couple of days?  they have cut out the majority of features which were advertised.  this is NOT the game that was advertised.

Now as I have stated here many times before I very crystal clearlly and exactly understand the points everyone has been making to me without any deviation or misunderstanding whatsoever.   <<<um, reading what you typed above; and from other of your posts - it does not seem you understand what other folks are saying.

yeah basically that once I said i was a level 51 wizard and then I said i was a 61 wizard. I dont recall I havent touched in game in 2 months. As far as a transmutter I have no idea what my level was becuase its a major money sink and I stopped it. Not to mention transmutting doesnt work by levels but by skill poiints. why would darktroll failbots plague forums for a year prior to darkfall's launch?   no matter the forum - some failtroll was there posting about how darkfall had all sorts of wonderful features (90% of those features have since been removed from the game) and was the best game EVER!!!

who knows why you would lie about stuff online.  to get attention i suppose.  that's what most people crave - attention.  good, bad, it doesn't matter.  some people nitpick on words "oh i didn't say that exact word", and they feel that makes them "win".

more and more, the thinking and paying customer is simply fed up with this mess that is darkfall.  it is nothing of what was promised, even with them slowly removing the lies from the official darkfall website.  pretty much everything about the game is horrible, or horribly implemented.  to deny that, is to admit to not REALLY having played an MMO in the past 3 years.

Saying Darkfall isn't that great of a game is stating an opinion. It's not "hating on it". I know the fans around here don't see it that way, considering anything negative said about the game, AV or Tasos to be "trolling" and "hating". Unfortunately for you, it's not the case.

Also, what Frostbite says is true... Not all, but several of the people here target AV and especially Tasos... Going into broken record mode again here, but several of us have said - for months now - that we find the concept of Darkfall to be quite interesting, but flawed in execution as has been pointed out by people who are playing it. What we don't like are the people behind it, how it's been mishandled, the hype, the spin and the lies - especially from Tasos.

What I'm wondering if or when the fans are going to stop pretending to not know the difference, and will stop labeling any criticism as "hating on Darkfall".
