If there is a drop, which I've not noticed, It's more likely due to the fact that the cost of PLEX has gone up from 550,000,000 to 800,000,000 in one year which might mean less alts payed for with PLEX.

Also, multiple character training with PLEX means that if you were inclined to train an alt you don't need to have 2 accounts.

From my perspective the real danger to eve online is CCP's modern notion that end game for eve is null sec and their attempt to get people to move out there.  When someone pees in the pool you have two choices - move to the other end of the pool (null sec) or get out of the pool (quit the game).  Be very careful CCP.

A few months isn't enough time to become accustomed to how eve is different than your typical MMORPG; so, instead of picking the game apart on this forum due to something you don't fully understand why don't you just ask the vets here for advice or help?

Looks like things worked out for the best

Tell that to the families of the people who died in that backwater hellhole for no fucking reason.

Gotta admit -- you're the first person I've seen argue that the Vietnam War was a good thing.

News flash -- ALL WARS ARE BAD. Some (VERY FEW) are necessary, but they're ALL BAD. Period, full stop, discussion over.

I"m not saying Vietnam War was good. But the outcome for the direction of the world and global politics was positive.

It would be best if all wars could be avoided. But in the face of tyranny, liberal democracies have to stand up and kill the bad guys.

I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you but the USA lost the war in Vietnam...

The bad guys of Vietnam in the 1960s were in the same club as the bad guys that are incharge of Vietnam now.  America's loss in Vietnam didn't do anything for the world or global politics.  The only thing that it really did was make America a little bit weary of fighting guerilla wars of attrition alone, which is a lesson America's suddenly forgotten - so nothing at all was the outcome of that  war except damaged American GIs.

here is a man full of regret my ass.

"I acted appropriately in the context of those times," is not the same as saying that you have no regrets.

Do you have a smoking gun?

It should be pretty easy to come up with a quote of him saying flat out that he has no regrets about the violence since he's such a pompus blow hard.  C'mon, where's the smoking gun?

Lol, I don't know about the GOP but Fox news got 280 million from the Saudi king, and every one knows most repub like Fox news.  I guess it's an indirect financement.

edit: Oh right! Did Fox gave money to the GOP? I think they did.

Get your facts straight. First, it's not the king - it's Prince Alwaleed bin Tala al-Saud. Second, he did not give money to Fox - his holding company owns a 7% share in Fox. 7% is nothing in terms of corporate ownership. He has no influence on anything Fox news does - if he did, you wound't see such criticism from Fox with the Ground Zero Mosque, for example.

OH REALLY?

you wanna go down THAT road?

cause i know who will come out smelling like roses and who WON'T on that one.

Thrill me. Lets get this thing started.

Obama's pal bill ayers.  that a good start?

I don't think Obama was a pal of Bill Ayers in the 60s and 70s.  Bill Ayers of this day and age, the one that Obama knows, regrets his earlier violence.

You'll have to do better than that.

I hate to quote Vato, but... proof?

Last I heard, Bill Ayers was saying he didn't do enough back then.

Islam is a violent religion with a history of violence.

The founder of Islam, Muhammad was not a man of peace but a warlord who lead his followers to battle.   A passage about the Muslim's first battle.  "The Muslims were murderous.  Several Quraysh sheikhs and more than fifty men were slaughtered, women chasing the defeated and shrieking as they killed and stripped the wounded."  from God's Crucible by David Lewis.

While my knowledge of the Quran is lacking the Muslim holy book seems to have more messages of smite thy enemy than love thy enemy.    But correct me if I'm wrong.  Is it coincidence that a scimitar is a symbol of Islam?

Islam's first schism began not a letter nailed to a door but with an act of murder.   The murder of Ali began a cycle of violence that is going on even today.

Islam spread not with Muslim holy men going to new lands to gain converts but by the sword.   The Byzantine Empire would have met the same fate as the Sassanid empire but for two walls.   A literal one in the east, the walls of Constantinople and a figurative one in the west in the person of Charles Martel the Hammer.   Will Durant called the Muslim conquest of India "probably the bloodiest story in history."

How about a faith that trains men to go on suicide missions to strike terror in the hearts of their enemies.   Sounds a lot like modern suicide bombers but this this has been a part of Islam for almost a thousand years.   The word assassin came from a Islamic cult that used this practice.    The cult met an end when it met an enemy (the Mongols) that could not be intimidated.

Muslims did conquer Constantinople in 1453 and then tried to further their conquests in Europe.   But they met an enemy who bloodthirstiness outmatched their own.   To intimidate Mehmed II Dracula impaled 20,000 Turkish soldier.   Whether Dracula was merely being sadistic or taking a page from the enemies playbook I don't know.  (The Ottomans had impaled prisoners outside the walls of Constantinople).  But I suspect both.

Muslim violent expansion was not so easily discouraged.  Suleyman, grandson of Mehmed II tried to conquer Vienna twice but was defeated.   The memory of that aggression might be why Turkey is not part of the European Union.   An Austrian newspaper wrote "We have defeated you twice before.  We can do it again."

I could go on but you get the idea.   I write these things to combat the idea that Islam is a peaceful religion or that Islam is no different from other religions when it comes to violence.   I think this kind to thinking does a disservice to Muslims.   Like a person from a family of alcoholics must be more aware of the dangers of alcohol, Muslims must be more aware of their susceptibility to violence.   Only by admitting you have a problem can you defeat it.

Your opinions on this subject are unintelligent and completely worthless.

You admit that you don't know about this topic that you've started but are still willing to criticize it?

Shouldn't you read the book and do the research with an open mind before you are able to speak intelligently about it?

The fact that you recognize that you know nothing about the subject but still feel that you can criticize it makes you a very stupid person.  You are perhaps one of the stupidest people on this forum.

This ought to be a hot button issue.  Chancellor Merkel said the influx of Muslim immigrants is destroying German society.  Agree or disagree?

Opponents of diluting a country's unique culture with multi-culturalism probably think she is spot on.  Proponents of multi-culturalism probably think this is the first step to the rise of another Nazi regime.  Or perhaps both positions are extreme if taken too far.  Where do you stand?

I don't think this has anything to do with multiculturalism and everything to do with cultural hegemony.

If you accept cultural supremacy as correct then you also have to be willing to recognize that other cultures might have the ability to claim the supreme position.

Neither.  As a congressman it's their job to represent their constituents at that level of government.

Job creation seems like a municipal or state level concern (and even state level is pushing it).

Who is a close friend and advisor of Obama that is a staunch supporter of free markets, capitalism, less government and less taxes and waste, someone that did not spend their lives in Government, but actually ran businesses in the private sector without government contracts, and never spoke out about social justice, and the evils of capitalism?

Who fits that criteria and is famous enough to be known publically?

Somebody set up us the bomb.

Usually the drug question makes me an authoritarian with these tests.

"Our race has many superior qualities, compared with other races."  How does that determine anything on that chart?

you really don't read much do you?

Ayers has no remorse for his actions....after 9/11 he was questioned about it and still said he had no regrets.

You know he wrote a letter to the editor after that article was published and blasting the person that wrote the article for shitty journalism right?  What he said and what the person reported were two different things.

Saying that you'd still fight against the war in Vietnam if it was happened today is not the same as saying that you'd use the same methods.  He has no regrets that he fought against the war, but doesn't feel the same about the methods he used.

To all the people outside the United States, this is not common practice. Most places all have police and fire services included in their taxes and there are no extra fees. In a few places the population in the area has voted to change it so that they are able to pay a fee if they live in rural areas outside the firefighters area.

Second this has nothing to do with the Fire fighters being heartless, I don't think they were standing around enjoying watching someones house burn down. It would have been more anti-civic if they had ignored the law passed by the majority of voters to put out the fire. In this case they followed the law, thus performing their civic duty regardless of what they wanted to do.

Third I am a communist and I find this chuckle worthy (except for the pets dying). This was an extremely conservative area that passed it's laws to limit the governments size. They purposely voted to pay less taxes because they felt that they could put the money to better use then the government could. I know I am using conjecture here, but I am pretty sure this is the reasoning considering the political voting history of the area this happened. This is typical conservative behavior, they don't want to pay taxes and they want a smaller government, but they want all the services that the government provides. So the conservatives won in this area by shrinking the government but then they get all pissy and try to argue how immoral the government is when they follow the laws they themselves pass. I love the hypocrasy of this, it makes my nipples hard. When you vote for less taxes people or for wars, the money has to come from somewhere, don't get so upset when you start loosing services like the fire department.

It's most likely that the people in that area opted for the fee because it's not cost effective to fund or maintain a fire service themselves when they're so close to an area that is willing to provide the service to them.

This story has less to do with an economic or political system or scheme and more to do with a failure of religion and religious values.

I also found humor in this thread since some of the anti-socialists on this board are conflicted.

What does this have to do with religion or religious values? Did God appear as a burning bush again under their curtains? America wasn't founded on religion or religious values, read Thomas Jefferson or any of the founding fathers if you believe it somehow was. Second you don't have to be religious to have morals or values, it's kind of annoying how 'religious' people believe they somehow have a monopoly on morals and values. Third if you really were religious, most major religions advocate giving your wealth up for the greater good, why do you think all of the major religious figures lived in caves or were nomads? Jesus wasn't rolling around with a caravan of horses... he walked. Moses didn't keep living in the pharaoh's palaces, he traded all that to wonder the desert as a nomad knowing he would die without entering Isreal. Mohammed lived in a cave most of his life, even the apostles were called to a life of wondering between cities preaching. So following this logic if you really are religious you would be willing to pay extra in order to protect your neighbor. This pay for yourself is completely anti-religious in it's enactment. You can't argue how this happened because society somehow lost it's moral compass while arguing cost-effectiveness in the previous statement. What cost does a home have? Not a house but a home. What value do your pets have? What value does all of the history and heritage in your family heirlooms have? Just how do you value the cost effectiveness of stuff like that? Not only that how do you argue the cost-effectiveness of that stuff for your neighbor? No, This law passed because people were more worried about their money then the welfare of their neighbors. This law was the opposite of religious values. Even Jesus preached about following the law and giving to Ceaser that which belongs to Ceaser, The firefighters followed the law, they were the ethical ones.

The word charity was introduced into the english language by a certain religion and the values of that religion is why some people feel conflicted about this story.  They expect the firefighters to behave in a charitable manor - that concept was not valued in most regions prior to the advance of a certain religion.

There was no law to be passed - the city provided the service at a cost and the community accepted the cost or rejected the cost.  The rural community didn't pass a law they simply accepted the service by paying the fee or rejected the service by not paying.

As far as myself - I'm not religious.

In my view everything that I own has a higher value to me than everything that you own, I can't cover the cost of my own losses nor am I willing to cover yours but I'm willing to pool my money with yours so that in the event of one of us experiencing loss (and so long as we both agree to certain terms), we can recover some of that loss, but I'm not doing it for your sake and your property - I'm doing it for my own.  This is extended to most things in life - I don't pay taxes for you to enjoy public services I pay them for me and mine...  I'd of payed the fee.

Scientists across the world warned us in the 80s that we'd be in an ice age right now?  Where are they=)  Scientists also not so long ago warned us the ice caps would melt fairly soon and submerge Florida under water.  I'm typing this right now and I'm not swimming=)   Careful who you call loony Libs.  Computer geniuses around the world said Y2K would also bring the end of civilization as know it....pretty smart or a bunch of %$&^#&*# morons=)

"not so long ago" in Josher terms - several years

"fairly soon" in scientific terms - several decades/centuries

Read some of the predicitions from the first Earth Day in 1970 - by the year 2000, crude oil should be gone, air quality would be so low we would need a mask to go outside and we would all be dying of hunger. These are all predictions from "scientists" who equate fairly soon with several years.

http://www.ihatethemedia.com/earth-day-2010-stupid-predictions-from-first-earth-day

A lot of those were true, but happily adjustments were made to reduce the amount of pollution that was spit out and oil that was consumed.  It's really too bad that some action was taken to retard the nightmare we were facing or you could be gasping for clean air and thirsting for clean water right now.

You seem to forget that raw pollution was being dumped into the lakes and sky without any second thoughts.  Add to that fuel conservation, advancement in some technologies and government regulations and most of those senarios were delayed.

CFCs, acid rain, and air pollution are real problems even today and if they were left as unchecked as they were in the 70s you'd be facing a real nightmare right now, but you're not and not because they were wrong but because they did something to protect you - so go back to sleep, little baby, there's no such thing as the bogey man.

Gotta love freedom of speech  You think refusing to say the pledge as an American makes him an asshole, and I think you telling people they should say they pledge makes you an asshole.

Nevermind the whole "under god" thing which should be removed.  Pledging allegiance unconditionally to a flag and/or country is insane.  Sounds like something Kim Jong Il would want his people to do.

Self loathing is a wonderful thing=)  Explain why someone would be so against saying the pledge as a practicing lawyer and then maybe I could understand where you get this freedom of speech thing.   Isn't the pledge a symbol of that freedom you loath so much?   What statement is he trying to make purposely not saying it?  Claiming, "I have the freedom not to say it" isn't good enough.  WHY?  Why would a lawyer who's probably doing very well for himself hate the country so much that he'd refuse to honor it?  Just curious.  I also have the freedom to call him an Ahole too.    Not saying isn't a statement...it just means you're an ass.

How shocking someone who hates god also hates the country too.  Big shocker=)

What is the US Constitution?  Why have a Constitution?  Is the "The Pledge to the Flag" in the constitution?  Are the words "Pledge" or "Flag" or "allegiance" in the US Constitution?

When you answer those questions you'll have your answer.

The constitution doesn't prevent people from being ungrateful a$$es but they are anyway.  Whats your point?  Not saying the pledge is an obvious sign of disdain and you have to wonder what would motivate someone to basically stick their nose up at the country.    Especially, when its a lawyer that benefits so greatly from our system that gives him opportunities he just wouldn't have elsewhere.  How well do divorce lawyers do over in China or Japan or Russia or around Europe?  Bet not nearly as well.

Not saying under God is fine.  You don't believe in it, don't say it.  But not saying the pledge at all means you're snubbing everything that allowed you to reach the position you've attained.   Its about respect and he showed none.

The constitution defines what America is and what American's believe - you want somebody to repeat the pledge of allegiance make an amendment demanding such and push for it to be ratified.

Otherwise go suck a lemon because that lawyer lives in a constitutional republic and he doesn't have to do anything aside from obey the law and US Constitution.

I voted for Obama back in 2008 and if I could go back in time I'd tell myself not to vote for him. He hasn't done anything at all in the past two years not only that America has gotten worse thanks to him and the others I used to support.

So I can see why Obama's popularity is just going every month, Americans are sick of him ruining everything. And I'm thankfuly that some of my friends sat down with me and showed me why we need to give the Dem the boot.

And put the people who started this mess back in charge? You honestly think things would be better with Republicans running the show? Because if you do, you're wrong. Period, full stop.

I by no means think Obama is perfect, but things would be worse if the Rs were in charge. And thank your lucky stars that Bush wasn't able to push through his SS privatization, or else all that money would have evaporated too.

Democrats suck, but they're 100 times better than Republicans.

If I have to vote for a Democrat or a Republican I'm now going to vote for the Republican.

They have new blood in the Republican Party now with the Tea Party, and yeah most of them have some loony ideas however it's not like any of them will ever pass. Going to privatization would work out greatly in the end as the Government could go about doing their job rather then wasting time and money on things that the public have said "No we don't want this!" too.

And really as my friends have shown me it was Democrats that started this mess, not the other way around. It was Bill Clinton and the rest of the Democrats that started our downfall. Yeah Bush didn't help, however it was not his fault we are in this mess.

Republicans will fix it, Democrats are just making it worse.

1) You are saying that you had an intervention to cure you of Obama.

2) You are playing up the republican fantasy that Obama supporting is a cult.

I smell a rat.

That's irrelevant to the point.

We don't, however, design controversial classes for children.

Well, it was relevant to your point. :)

No controversial classes? How about sex ed? That's a potential hot point.

What do you think goes on in a sex ed class?

Sex ed should be about what Imhotep said above. However, with students now being taught the names and descriptions of various sexual positions, being taught about gay sex, and teaching kindergarteners about sex, there is cause for concern.

Sex ed is supposed to be about the human reproductive system, not anything else.

Here is a great example.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/07/14/montana-sex-education-proposal-draws-outrage-graders-learn-gay-sex/

A proposal is not a good example of what's being taught in school.  Do you have something that is not a proposal?

Israel announced a moratorium on settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, but did that stop the construction?
