Actually the release date for the skin is at the end of the video you posted, ha ha.  Seeing as this article was posted on the same date in the video that means the skin is available now!! And in fact it is.

As people move out of the starting zone(s) and into the actual world the shard allows more people on.  This helps to prevent the starting zone from getting crushed, so you're queue time should hopefully drop.  At least that's what we were told during the first couple of beta's and that the same functionality would migrate to launch.  Further, once people move deeper and spread out the shard starts to let in even more people.

In the Lake Tunapre area, the Airon's will also drop a scroll for the quest "Return to Sender".  Basically it's a love letter to Ulgorn from one of the other NPC's that your return first to him and then to the original author Linevir (the soul healer).

I've done it on all my open and closed beta chars and drop rate seems to be about 1 in 10 or maybe like 1 in 15.  I could have just maybe been lucky though.

Servers are now online.  In game as I type.

It's my understanding that, while Atari IS the publisher, Cryptic will be handling all the billing for NA and that there hasn't been any anouncments or anything said different for EU.

Unlike other "beta's" you WILL be able to keep your toon when the game goes "live".  Allowing you to spend money on a premiuim subscription during beta and then wiping your toons would be suicidal at best.  That said, it's not really a true beta (in my opinion), the game has already been released in english in the UK, mostly they are testing hardware and accounting issues sorted out.  Not the sort of things that will change gameplay and no real "need" to wipe characters.

It's also my understanding (but don't quote me on this) that both game clients are currently the same version for the EU release and NA release although often the EU version is updated a bit before the NA version.

I also believe the comparison of those two pictures loses alot because they are two different gender pieces?  Because the article is largely dicusing armor style (and to a lesser extent mood and tone) a male vs. male or female vs. female comparison would have been more meaningful.

That said, i'm a North American (Canada) player and I much prefer the male version of the blademaster to represent the heavily armored melee dps class.  It would be interesting to see how many others on this forum feel the same way?

There were actually wait que's on Brandywine most of the day Saturday... 1:00 at night on sunday and I was getting groups left right and center.  I suspect that's mostly because of the "Return to LOTRO" week but it was really nice to see.

I just recently returned to lotro 2 weeks ago, my main character was level 28.  It's been really surprising to see so many people in the mid levels running around (even before the flux of people this weekend).  Lot's of the ones I grouped with either still going slowly through the content or playing alt's just to experience content they missed (because there's so many damn quests).

Looks like I posted a bit late and you figured it out anyway... Vista doesn't come with DirectX 9 on a clean install.  Some PC manufacturers will install it (my Dell Machine restore disk has it) but my core copy of Vista doesn't.

If you install directx 9 seperatley as well as do any of its updates you won't be asked to do it as part of the warhammer install.

He's pointing out that the the article in his link is effed up and has the developer of EQ2 as Disney Interactive instead of SOE.  That's the error anyway, and I can only assume / hope that's what he's trying to point out.

Truth

The Archmage (and this is totally my opinion based off a small portion of playing one so far) is a hybrid class.  Half ranged DPS and half healer.  I can't speak past level 10 but up to that point ALL three of the heals that I have are HOT's of some sort, a shorter kinda burst HOT, a longer HOT and a DOT that heals for tick damage done.

Also three of my damage spells (that I can think of off hand, not including starter initial ranged burst damage spell) are DOT's...  really they are the masters of OT type spells.

I may be totally wrong and, again this is based off my experiences only (i did get to play higher level warrior priest and rune priests during different phases of closed beta)...

Archmage = Hybrid healer / ranged dps.
Warrior Priest = Hybrid healer / melee dps.
Rune Priest = Healer.

And to clarify, while I say both the archmage and warrior priests are healer / ranged dps and melee dps respectively, they obviously don't compete with pure ranged or melee dps classes for damage output.  Further, I consistently see both the rune priest and archmage competing for the top spot in healing done in scenario's.

If you want to play a healers healer... runepriest.  If you want to play something a bit more dps'ey... i think you get the picture.
