lol I restarted the launcher. Now it's scanning my files, and it seems like it's gonna take just as long to finally get back to the patching again.
EDIT: There. It's just a little over 5 hours now. Though seems to be rising slowly rather than falling... |

I am in the middle of patching/installing the game right now. Last night when I went to sleep, I had 8 hours left to go... for some reason, I woke up this morning, and I have 55 hours to go, and it's going sloooooooooooow. |

I've been wanting to try this game for a while, but didn't wanna buy it until I tried it, so if you have a key I could use, that woudl be awesome. :) |

Originally posted by endlesone Why is it bad that I've linked both keys to the same account? I thought I was supposed to do that. Back when I first got it, I could go onto any of my factions, or my Nightfall characters and stuff, and I assumed I couldn't go to Factions areas, or vice versa, without it being linked to my account. Well, this is what games without monthly fees always are -- a hassle. It's really too bad. I thought these guys actually knew what they were doing. |

I reformatted my computer a while ago, and just today got interested in playing Guild Wars again. I bought the Factions and Nightfall campaigns, and I have them here, so I installed them both. For some reason though, I am able log in, but once I get to character selection, it only shows one of my characters, and when I select any of the slots, a big red box says I am not authorized to play and that I need to buy the right campaigns to do so. I contacted the account support and I am waiting on an answer. They got back to me saying to give my account activation keys and my email address so they can try to resolve the issue. So while waiting, I figured I'd ask and see if anyone had a similar problem, and if they had actually gotten it solved? I've been to a few forums, and I see people have complained about it before, but none have actually said they've got the issue resolved, and most posts are from a couple months ago or more. |

As previously said, AC1, DAoC, and WoW. And also as previously said, WoW actually exceeded my expectations... until I hit end-game. ;) |

If they made the game so it was easier to get an effective party together, make it not take so long to level - or, hell, not even that's really that big of a deal, if I could get into a damn party without taking almost my entire playtime to do so -- make a wider variety of armor for at least the later levels, make it just a tad easier to get around, and make the crafting not suck, then this would be the greatest game ever and I'd never stop playing. The atmosphere, the storyline, the cutscenes, the combat, the graphics, the music, everything is awesome. But when it comes down to it, I find myself unable to sit around for hours looking for a party so that I can finally get in one, pull once, wipe, and have the party disband enough to actually get through to all the greatness. Plus the crafting is horrible, and they make some classes - especially Ninja - far too dependant on crafted items that aren't always around, and are far too expensive when they are. But this game is too old and set in its ways now, so I know it'll never change. I can only hope the next MMO Square-Enix puts out is a lot better with at least these issues. |

The thing with FPS MMO's, is you can't really have individual upgrading per se. There can't really be any stats or abilities or anything like that to make it unfair. I don't mind if a game can have a level 1 kill a level 50+. In my opinion, there has to be different sides, a war of some sort, storyline, and your character development should be based on interaction with the world itself. You put time into the character to see the war unfold, to be given tougher assignments, to raise in rank on your side, to gain different weapons (not necessarily always better, but more variety is always welcome), and perhaps some better gear in the sense that you could get better bullet-proof vests or something that will negate damage to a degree, but that's not exactly going to stop a level 1 from killing you, just make it slightly tougher. The gameplay should be smooth and awesome, but it shoudln't be entirely focused on that. There's gotta be a hook. Some company will figure it out soemtime. And it'll be great. |

Well, they've got me interested. The combat looks decent, but what intrigued me most was the little cutscene at the end where the pod dropped and the guy jumped out. Must've been a boss fight or something. Looks pretty cool. I never watched the entire series of DBZ... but I mean, it took years just to get to the point I got to... which wasn't long after the big Goku/Frieza fight on Namek. |

lol this is hilarious. I'm not exactly surprised that it's being made, but it's still pretty funny. Honestly, though, I feel strangely drawn to it, 'cause it looks more fun than anything else out right now. ;) And that music on the website is catchy as hell, yo. I'll subscribe and have some fun with it somehow if I get into the closed beta. I don't care if it's made for kids! Although I do feel bad about all the predators that are sure to follow... lol I'm sure we'll see some cybering somewhere in there.

I am actually sorta impressed with this game. As far as 2D anime-inspired Korean grindfests go, this one is actually managing to hold my interest for longer than 20 minutes, which is a record. The training area at the beginning is actually kinda fun. You do some quests, get 5 credits if you just wanna get through it, or 15 credits (1-3 from each quest) and then talk to a guy to head into a dungeon, get some items, then summon and kill a boss. It has you working for something from the very beginning, that isn't just levels and equipment. The quests actually don't seem like they were thrown together in 5 minutes like other games like this. Then when you graduate you get to choose between four different factions, and then go to that faction's hometown to start off the real game. I chose the Shadow faction, and the tone of the game completely changed into a more dreary one... the music and characters just fit perfectly. So far, the game isn't feeling like much of a grind at all, but I am only level 14, so I am sure that'll change. This game may not have much for customization, but it has more than most of these games do... I mean, there's actually a wide variety of hair colors to choose from, though only like 6 hairstyles, and 3 different heights, and all three, honestly, are a step up from many other games. Not that it makes much of a difference once you put on a helmet, but meh. The animations for combat aren't the greatest, but they're not that bad. One major complaint I have is that the bosses are incredibly tough for the level you get the quests at. The first guy in the training palace I needed help from a couple of 19's or so to kill. I was 11. And even then, the guy had to spam like 20 potions. I am levbel 14, and I did one quest to kill 30 easy skeletons. Then got a quest now to kill the head skeleton... and he hits me for around 320 a hit, and I only have like near 700 health. But that's not way too major of a concern. I'll get it done eventually. :P Anyway, that's all from me. Off I go to maybe play it for a bit. Laters. |

Looks awesome. I don't understand why people say it looks like WoW... I see nothing of WoW in this, and I've been playing it since beta. The graphics are much smoother, more polished, and much less cartoony than WoW's. |

Yeah, it's shit. I wouldn't say it's a COMPLETE failure, as people are still playing it. But people will play anything, it seems. |
