ill give it a 6 for now... some people are such nitpicky haters on this site ...... if you're not a star wars/bioware fan its probably not going to be the game for you, simple as that. Either way it's still a new game so give it time and things will be worked on and it will get better... if you think theres no salvaging it then it's really not your type of game and you should've probably known it wouldn't be before even buying it if you did your research because it's very much what I expected it to be personally.

 There's different levels on misanthropy. I'm not going to argue with you because if you say you aren't then there's no arguing point for me. I don't really know you. It's even hard to say I am since I'm so open to meeting new people and giving them a chance. :) It just depends how you look at it. I get it you enjoy video games so you make time for them even though they aren't really the best choice or someone with limited time.

You did mention while leveling in wow you got a new weapon every level playing WoW. That to me is an exaggeration. I remember getting a new weapon every few levels... 5-6 usually unless you spent every moment on the game searching for another one in a different dungeon rather than question ... I simply got my next weapon in every new dungeon and paced it out.

 Don't forget AoC lol...

I think a big problem is that they have a lot to live up to with really popular IP's.

 Just ignore the immature players as they will undoubtably exist. I mean you can hope there's a lesser number of them hopefully since it's an IP that in my opinion has an older fanbase than some... 

Either way it shouldn't effect your decision as there WILL most certainly be mature players in the game. Those are the ones you should find and play with and try to not let the kids ruin your experience. 

I'll be playing this because I love sci fi I love star wars and more specifically the old republic is probably my favorite time period in star wars. If you havent read the Darth Bane books you should! they take place quite a bit after this game begins but they talk a lot about the history including the old sith masters like Revan, Exar Kun, Freedon Nadd... etc etc. :) 

 Hmm... if you're leveling too fast you're probably playing too much.

The problem with slow leveling is it would require INTERESTING gameplay to keep it worth playing something pretty much no mmo has... maybe SWG had it for a while to begin but no mmo has enough lasting interesting content to explore to make taking your time actually FUN. Take a non mmo RPG like Mass Effect or Fallout 3 - these games make it worthwhile to take your time.

While you can't understand trash talk for it on the completely other end of the spectrum I can't fathom why its even in conversation. It's a joke that no one should be making money for.

It's not the most unpopular MMO actually and it's just one more reason why I have so little respect for peoples judgement.

I'm not even going to get into an argument and make a ton of statements on why it's not good. Any rational person should be able to play it for 5 minutes and understand (20 if you REEEEALLY want to see if theres more to it lol). But then again people that seem rational and intelligent in other areas can also spark 'religious debate' for me too ;) but thats off topic. (watch religulous - best documentary ever)

Anyway if you like it so much I beg of you just go play it or pllllleeeease post in the runescape forum or at the very least give a warning in the topic that its about runescape because from the moment I first heard about it and tried it out (because I like to give things a chance) I was already sick of it. :( It's just an awful awful game in so many respects and I could live with that because theres many of them ... flash mini games on random websites for example which have better graphics usually though. But the fact that they can make money off it and actually have a huge fanbase apalls me so much. I could rant forever about this but I'm just going to stop now.

I would like to start the 'Lets destroy runescape so I wont have to hear about it anymore' club. Anyone else in? :p

 PS: oh and to the guy above me... D2 was also 1 of my first online games... that and starcraft and c&c great game but idk if you can call it an mmorpg.

thats all I feel like listing lol ... but for me it was fun up to about lvl 20 and then I realized the missions are just far to mind numbingly similar and the only way you get change is to make a different character with a different look and archetype.

Because each type of server is fundamentally a diiferent play experience and requires unique tailoring of the game mechanics to functiuon properly. No company is going to maintain four code bases for what amounts to four completely different games with the same name and graphics.

Felluca failed in UO because there's no reward for being a punching bag. Trammel succeded because people will almost always trade freedom for security. You can't  make that fundamental a change in a game without considering what it will do to the player dymnamics. Outside forces and bad patches killed the game itself.

I never even played this game but was reading through this thread out of boredom and this statement humored me greatly :)
