Ok ill grant that in 2 week you could have gotten threw almost all of the casual play content. Even back then to say in two months you had maxed every thing on multiple toons is likely really not completely honest. There are traits and deeds that where in place as time sinks. I suspect you as a casual player did not really grind them out. So its not that you’re wrong it is just a little misleading.

Since Moria there are weapons in 3 tiers that have to be leveled and because you have little to no control over the abilities they get, it can take weeks or months just to get one you like. Third age drops a lot, second age a lot less but now are craftable and first ages ones only from raid boss mobs. To top it off you do not just have to grind out the weapons and a class item but you need to grind out the settings, gems and ruins placed into them. Again not something that’s going to be done in just a few weeks nor are you going to be a top tier crafter with top faction in the crafting guilds in just a few weeks of play time.

Darkboaz, as I said, at launch I played like crazy. I did achieve everything there was to do, to a point that before I quit, me and my guildies had absolutely nothing to do other than grinding ranks in PvMP.

In Moria, I did not try to get the first age weapon and did not try to max level my weapon, because that is just a grind, so I don't consider grinding to be content. What I meant was that I did everything there is to do at least once in Moria  within 2 weeks of casual play.

Which is why I said I buy you would be able to get through all the casual play probably a better way of saying it would have been to say you where able to skim along the surface and get through most of the stories. If you are not going to do any grinding then you will not experience end content which leads me to the next part of how that does not equate to you got through all the content. I completely agree that grind is not content but some content in the game is gated by the grind. So I still say I like your assessment but it is a little disingenuous as you did not really get through it all in 2 weeks just got through what you where willing to do.

Pre Moria getting the top gear was fairly easy to do as there was 3 sets and only one required raiding to do and they where very similar. In Moria you can not complete the top sets with out raiding and the raids are gated. Which means you can not even try them until you have run the instances to get the rest of the gear first and unlike before there is a difference between what you can get just doing the encounters and the gear you get from raiding.

Personally, I hate all the grinding they have added to the game. I do not need the game to find thing for me to do. Since the NDA is lifted it is not really going to get better they have added more grinding so you can grind some more. I miss the days of Angmar where we had free time in the game instead of the game beginning to feel like a second job.

I hope they are leaving it open longer because they did not get the numbers they wanted and revisit what changes they have made and how that has affected the game. Moria sucked a lot of the fun out of this game by introducing grinds that were required to be ground so you would be able to grind other things.

I am a little under the required system specks with a Pentium 4 2.4gig (don’t judge me, just pity me) and am able to play and as of yet I am enjoying the game. Granted until I turned down the graphics range I would have horrible crashes after it flawlessly working for the tutorial but I expected some issues being under spec.

I always found WoW graphics to be cartoony, granted it fits the games it is based on so that is fine but to call it horrid well I guess maybe if both are at minimums then maybe. You can play as a troll or an Uraki you just have to stay in the pvp zone but much like DaoC there is PvE to be had out there even. My issue with Lotro is it was a lot of fun before Moria. Moria added a whole lot of drama about gated raids and grinds for gear grinds to level gear and grinds to upgrade said gear. None of which would have been too bad if they had not had the random elements that where woven into them.

You have made 32 post and the last 24 where all made within 2 hours of each other. That does not really sound all that slow but since you have been here for a whole 2 days ill acquiesce to your knowledge of how is suppose to be here since you have not been contributing to the spam on or about darkfall.

What I would love is a filter option for the awesome feature on this site called “Current Forum Activity”. For weeks now, it could have just been retitled the drama in and about darkfall. Please help those of us who do not care about the drama in other areas a way to better enjoy this site.I am sure there were people who wanted to filter us out when we took issue with SWG surprised such an option is not in place.

Unfortunately those who know cannot say because a NDA is in effect.

Hello my name is… opps sorry wrong former addiction. Some of us refused to drink the cool-aid a few years back. Glad to have more of you seeing the light.

Completely agree with you on. Maybe we should close vets down for a week and see how many ask for it back.

we can not forget we are dealing with  the 9th circus err I mean circuit court. They are the most overturned of the US circuit courts in appeals. This is still a ways from being the end all of the argument. Let it  all play out before debating if it is or is not the right call.

I agree i thought this was a joke also. I even have this as my desk top as i thought it was the coolest thing i had seen in a long time. Now that i know  Hello Kitty online it real or atleast in the works i bet it will do well.

Is that what you are looking for?

I love sand box, I HATE having to play a game the way some one tells me it aught to be played. I hate the hand holding of step by step progress.

Agreed no risk no reward.  Im ok with no corps run or no exp loss but not boath.

It was in CoX that I for the first time realy begain to like having a base of operations. i had always over looked such parts of the games.

I know I know it is like when my wife yells at me for giggling when I fart. At times I am a two year old. I really figured they would have changed the name from chapters to some other thing before they hit 11 maybe back to publish or something. Chapter 11 In the US has a meaning for businesses that is synonymous with bankruptcy. Maybe they will change them but I giggle every time I hear chapter 11.

I agree with you a game like SGW can lend its self easly to such a concept. In the shows there is a lot of go back to the home base of operations.

I have to agree with both of you. I had originally posted my amazement that I was but 1 of 35 to not be admitted.   9 days later I have heard noting and wondered if any of the other 34 have. I don’t know maybe some of them are here on the boards. I must have read too much into the post as I got a little exited thinking wow they see they missed some of us and are looking at it I will be in shortly. I am not under 18 and agreed to the beta test agreement.  That’s when someone jumped at me about system requirements that where talked about long after I had already been told I had supposedly won a spot.

Guess it was me reading too much at face value and not enough into it but it sounded to me in the post from Mark Jacobs that Closed Beta is limited to players 18 years of age or older, and requires the acceptance of the Beta Test Agreement Who would be selected to be part of beta would be based on a variety of factors, including computer system specs, game experience, newsletter subscription, and community involvement. When the question about what if you had won a spot Which I know I’m out on a limb here means you have already been selected the response was  If you have won a slot and meet all eligibility requirements you will get into the closed beta. Ok, I guess I should read that differently and  insert selection criteria as a requirement even though clearly the only requirement that is discussed in the post is 18 years of age or older, and acceptance of the Beta Test Agreement.

I have already said it is there pony and show to do with as they see fit they hold the cards and give you your hand. What I was looking for was a place to effectively wave and say yoo-hoo you missed me. Since there are no official boards I have to go to 3rd party sites to have a voice. I prefer it here as you do not have to suffer a litany of people who want to bash you for trying to speak.

Call me a special precious snow flake if you want but if there is really only 35 people to not get in but have “won” a spot I guess it was too much to think someone might have been able to drop them a simple line saying hey sorry but we cannot let you in now because you are either under 18 or have failed to agree to the agreement and or your dxdiag indicates your system does not meet our current threshold.  I would bet in getting that number they had a list by email of who the 35 where.

Cheese yourself if it will make you feel better. I’m sorry if pointing out what is going on with my status makes you unhappy.

My issue is I would like to test a game they told me I would be testing. A position they told me I earned by my being an active part of the pre game ramp up that they began working on a year ago. I have a history of beta testing. I have no interest in going into a beta where I am let in to ohh and ahh and look around do some simply stress testing and build some more hype.  To me the greatest joy is in working with the team to get things right and finding holes and broken things before the rest of the world ever knows it was ever broken. They should not have told me I had won a spot if they were not going to follow threw on it in anything that resembled timely.  I would have been vary content to be hoping that I might get picked but to have been picked and told to stay seated not so much.
