Who would of thought the first charecter u see is a half fury, followed by a scantily clad anime girl with huge eyes, while at the same time there using overdone visual effects. Seems kinda typical and cliche to me

Just wondering for all the people who are having troubles with the micro, what difficulty are u playing on and are you on a PC or XBOX or PS3(is there even a version)

Personally I greatly dislike DA, because of the dark story, the companions I dislike all of them and many other parts.

If I put that aside, DA is a decent game, but not the revolution some make of it. All important decision are made for you, too often I had not the choices or answers I would chose, and then I have consequences based in actions I didnt stand behind. The game is VERY linear and very much like one big tunnel, and I like more the free roaming of Fallout or Oblivion.

I hope MMOs will adapt the good storytelling however. Tho for a game the amount of dialoge and cutscenes is overdone IMO. A decent single player game, but unplayable for me, because I just can't indentify with the world, setting, story or ANY of the characters.

Why couldn't you identify with your own character, considering you could make your own choices? You can be good, you can be evil, and you can even be an opportunist. People in the game act differently based on the choices you make.

I think I have an idea of what he is talking about.

There are many times where the answer I would choose is simply not there.

Sure, you get to be good, bad, and opportunistic, but you have to be DAO's version of those qualities.  To be sure, this is way ahead of most games, but it is not the freedom as promised by the earlier EA hype machine either.

The blah models does not help either.

Though, for me, such issues have not spoiled the game for me, and I am having fun with it.

Of course your not going to find your exact answer in the dialog options but they are the basic ideas of good, evil, opputinistic, and then the I dont care choices.

For the kind of options your hoping for your going to have to wait about 10 years, when we are all wearing suits with sensors on it that translates our every movement plus the speed of those movements into ingame movements, and a mic that translates every word into ingame dialogue, with an appropriate response from the npcs, or even players.

Named mine Cerberus but not using him much. :)

By the way, which companions do you use most? So far I have been going with Alistair and 2 ladies but seems hard to keep Alistair and Morrigan happy with your choices as they are a bit conflicting.

I named my dog Saitek but dont use him mutch either, but he is such a cool little dog

I made a war so i use Alistair, Morrigan, and Liliana all the time havent switch to anyone yet

-Not being able to jump

-overdone Special effects

-when I have a quest to get rabbit heads and the rabit has no heads, I mean WTF

-not being able to go up small hills or jump down from a small cliff

-and the biggest one FULL QUEST LOG, I mean if I have a 120 page notebook and put in a few kill xx for yy, or collect xx for yy that only takes up 2 freaking lines maybe 4 if you leave a line b/w so u can read it better, but still you have about 10 lines on that page, not to mention the other 119 pages you could use.

I think in a recent interview they said something vague about not shure if they were going to allow it or not

Next thing you know they will start asking people who play muscular, athletic good looking characters to provide proof.  I mean...we wouldn't want some ugly person playing an attractive character, or some fat guy playing a muscular toon.  That would be false representation right?  Or some short guy playing a tall toon.

Basically what is going on here are some very, very horny game developers who probably haven't had sex in a very, very long time.  If they are asking for people to send in pictures of their genitals I think they shoud be investigated, ESPECIALLY if the gamers are minors.  Sounds like pediphelia central over there.

Well it is China after all

This week, MMORPG.com's Jon Wood takes a shot at a recent decision by a Chinese MMO company to ban all male players who choose to play female avatars.

Jon Wood  Women, it appears, are free to pose as men as much as their little hearts desire.

Read Your Sex: Prove It or Lose It!

So let's rag on the female gender as if this is our fault.

Did you even read the article. He was clearly just saying there not making you submit a proof of gender if you make a male charecter, he was in no way "raging" on the female gamers.

Well, WoW has 11.5 million subscribers which is over is 10X the amount of subscribers of all the other P2P games except Aion (which I think had around the 6-7 million mark).  It's possible WoW has more subscribers than all the P2P MMOs combined.  Kind of sad really.  Still, I think it's a pretty accurate reflection of the quality of MMOs we've been getting lately.

There is not even an official source saying aion has 3.5 million.    I would be surprised if they had even that amount of players.   Although I thought there was an official number posted on the max number of players per server.  I can't seem to remember where or when I saw it.

A full Aion server handles around 7000 peak concurrent users, which is quite high. If you know that WoW China has a 1/5 PCU to Player ratio and Aion currently has 239 servers, you can see they sure have alot of players. 7000 on a server means a full server tho, and not all server are full anymore (  a full server means you have to queue to get in ).

Still they never had 6-7 million players, I estimate around 3,6 million now with the European and US release included.

I like how u just updated your site with this new info.

Edit: and by new info i mean the one 2 or 3 posts up debating that article, quoted the wrong one :)

Nice.

Too bad they havent added more written history in the path to 2409 section.

I just logged in and it turns out i have my old low level charecters from beta. :)

Korean developer JoyImpact's answer to Realm vs Realm-focused games like WAR, Aika is an upcoming free to play 3D fantasy MMORPG. The focus of the game is in its massive realm combat, but there are other notable features as well. Your character starts out as a child, and through training and experience, grows up into an adult over time with certain skills.

There will be six classes, with some determined by gender. Nation battles plan to support 1,000 players on each of the two sides in massive siege combat. Aside from RvR PvP, there are quests, a crafting system, and more.

Eventually, the possibility comes to raise what are being called "Daughters". The Daughter system is a pet mechanic where the pets come in the form of little girls. Like your player characters, these Daughters will grow up with training, and each one promises to be unique depending on various factors, including how close you are with her. They will converse with you and this, among other outcomes, will impact the effects your pet will bestow upon you. The Daughter will also learn new skills as she grows that can aid you in battle.

Aika also promises its sweeping graphics and battle system will all come in a small 300MB download. The game is set for a free to play model, with the usual item shop.

I read the first and last word of the overview and closed the page..

For real.. how many version of Lineage 2 can people copy?

Where u surprised that they went with the item shop?

And now I'm thinking, Zarynterk, that your suggestion of selling gold, while expeditious and certainly painless, might not be, in a matter of speaking, the American way. The gold stays where it is. We're gonna farm the mobs!

Dont get me started on the American way... If we look at how this country was founded and upon whos back it was built... Gold Farming is 100% American...historically speaking, of course not the romanticized way we would like it to be.

With that im assuming u mean slaves. Yes america had slaves for a longtime, and so has every nation/empire/kingdom/ruling body, in the history of our species

Correct, the Spanish and Portugese basically started the slave trade in America, not the evil white man as some may think. But again it proves the point that gold farming is much like any other industry to the dawn of time. As long as there is a market, it will survive.

I agree it will survive, but it doesnt have to survive of Slaves/Bots or "sweatshops" making 10 cents an hour wile u get charged 1 dollar a day for room and board

Lol where is your outrage for all out-sourcing companies then. For the ten year olds making Nikes. Of I forgot...it doesnt effect your virtual world, only the real one.

Well I dont wear nike so im not supporting them am I, but yeah it sucks and the only people who can stop it are the companies that out source or the foreign governments to stop taking in outsourced jobs at such a reduced amount, but that of course wont happen because their governement/foreign bussiness care more about the profit than they do their labor forces.

so basically the workers should all VIVA LA REVOLUTION and demand more wages.

Im not really an aion fan or anything but ive ben thinking about giving it a shot if the PVP doesnt suck.

What im looking for is:

Balanced. Mainly I want the classes to be balanced.(dont we all)

Skill Based. Meaning I would like that pvp be based on how well you play. I dont want it to be Class V Class, meaning an assassin(of very low-upper medium skill level) is always goin to be able to kill a Sorc(of very high skill level) just because of its class

Not Gear Based. Pretty mutch with the above I dont want gear to play a mega supper important role, it can have a role just not a wtfpwned cause i have 6 puples and u only have 4 type a role.(wtf pwned cause i have full puples and u have all whites i can deal with)

Reason to pvp. Im all for the pvp just because i want to test my skills against you, like in shooters, but something deeper with rewards and risk would be a bonus.

Think thats it.

By skill I mean the knowledge or the player, the reflexes, the strategy they use, and there all around ability as a PLAYER, not the CHARECTER or CLASS they play.

(hope that made sense)

EDIT: I forgot to add by people who actually play the game, reasonable level (ie have wings) and able to be objective.

theres nothing wrong with gold farmers or sellers as long as there not bots.

Really, why is that...? What differentiates one from the other? What makes one ok, but the other not?

You mean the difference b/w bots and humans, well one is a computer program which is capable of farming gold 24/7 without fail and therefore it can get more gold than non bots and mess up the ingame economy. Kinda like how the value of a dollar works, the more dollars that are out there the less value yours has, thats why counterfeit is illegal.

Ingenuity, work smarter not harder.

How about work smarter, harder, and better. Thats ingenuity
