I like it! personally i say keep the crude and rude, i find it entertaining. Some posts about it seeming forced, but for an introduction article tbh they always seem a bit like that as the writer gropes for the audience. The majority of articles here ill have stopped reading before the end, so this definately gets + points from me. Refreshing.

Its already been said but its your character. You invest time in something and you can end up hating it for whatever reason, but because of the time you have spent with that character developing it you dont wanna just let all that go, and maybe things will get better if you just stick with it.

Makes you think of women really doesnt it...back to the vodka for me.

What concerns me is that these items seem necessary, I don’t care if a monkey running around your legs cost crazy amounts, let the people that want to buy it, buy it. It’s that to be competitive you have to pay. It just means everyone that wanted to play this good game, will just bail. All that will be left are rich kids that don’t care how much shit costs as long as they are the best, all 5 of them.

Ill just play a monthly sub game.

These two dominate the 1st and 2nd in development places on MMORPG.com.
Which one are you waiting for and why? Are you expecting one to flop? I’m curious to see how you guys think these future releases compare.

I have intentionally avoided adding my opinion to prevent OP flaming rather than a discussion.

I'd still play the game without jumping, but i would prefer to have it. But ill also agree with the general idea here, that its useless, but thats not the point. The point is, if i want to jump, i can. Theres some odd, unjust primitive feeling i auto-associate with being glued to the floor in game. And manys the time my all powerful level 75 was stopped in his tracks by the horror of a two inch high mound.

I say do away with the irrational fear of changes in terrain that led my character on a massive de-tour around La Theine Plateau.

Having said that, when i did play WoW, the night elfs spamming spacebar for the odd sommersault drove me mad. But so does spamming anything, spamming a nod emote would drive me just as crazy.

Like anything... not having it, makes you want it.

I agree with the OP, an environment you can escape in as soon as you log in. A game where you cant see the developers ideas, or shortcuts, just the world they created. This consists of lots of things though, graphics, setting, storyline.

A world without the visable stiches of its creation.

Obviously this will largely depend on the girl. If the girl is what your after, soon as she walks in the room she will have your attention not a game. (unless your married or have been together long enough).

But my advice is ditch the game, for the girl. You are going to gain much more valuable and enjoyable experiences with the girl than you will with the game. When you look back in five years you wont remember the game, you will just remember the time you lost. Im a firm believer in casual play for those rainy days or when your friends/girlfriend are busy. Playing these games excesively will cause you more problems than good.

Play the game now and again, but not when she is with you. Or you could just buy your girlfriend a laptop and the sims 3, and that will solve the problem, you can both sit in silence in your virtual worlds!

Just comes down to what you want to put your time into.

if you want to sit and play computer games all day, do so. if you want to play sport and play computer games now and again, do that.

if you want to eat Mcdonalds, do so. if you want to cook and eat well prepared and healthy food, do that.

if you want to stick your kids infront of a tv, do so. if you want to nurture and guide their up bringing, do that.

if you want to spend the time with your wife communicating through computers, do so. if you want to talk and communicate and get down the old fashioned way, do that.

if your fat, easily fatigued, have socially retarded kids with a similar phisique to yourself and havent got your leg over since your youngest was conceived, you chose "do so" to many times! but then again, if thats what you were aiming for, congratz.

I'm afraid all the man points go to the other guy, you could have been.

Can anyone make a point without shouting "ME LEET PROGRAMMER!" to justify their arguments.

I cant help but think, with WoW getting the crazy amount of money it does. How much do you need before things are released properly? If patches were released like expansions, with similar testing and devotion to them working and customer satisfaction there wouldn't be this problem. But people just accept its the way things work and MMO's require all this.

Although its only in beta at the moment id go with Zethcarn and have a look at Chronicles of Spellborn, the combat system seems to suit what your after. Its what originally attracted me to the game.

The official website is - http://www.thechroniclesofspellborn.com/en/index.html

and a video explaining the combat system -

Not released yet, but one to wait for :)

agreed!

Ultimately Blizzard will make the money from this expansion because they can, if it isn’t worth buying people wont. Yes Blizzard is rolling in it, and congratulations to them, they have made a product that sells well and has a huge following. We can’t ask Lego to give away free toys because people have bought loads of them, the product makes the company a success, and the same is true of a virtual game, time, money, effort and critical decisions have made Blizzard and WoW what it is. Remember it’s a game, you choose to pay to play for fun.

I agree this game is dying, when i played about 2 or 3 years ago it was great and bustling with players and i had my flag up for maybe 30min -1 hr max on even the least popular classes, now ive restarted i can sit even on whm waiting for hours and hours. I really dont want to pay a subscription to wait for 3 hours to actually play the damn game so im not going to move past the trial unfortunately. And i agree that far to many people will only play if their is the "perfect group" with the right subjobs and mains, If any game completely  rights off classes their is a serious problem and it should be balanced. Ultimately was a Good game back in the day, but now its just a memory.

I just started again yesterday and i found just switching the keyboard setting from normal to compact helped me out.

Well i personally played my character level 60 druid for 40 days played time, and in the begining i loved it, i soon found at 60, the aim of the game was grind pvp or instances for itemization purposes, or start an alt. Well i went on did my best to get some good pvp gear, then BC came out, and i looked forward to it, they even made druids a bit better...but they destroyed 10 days of my play time in one fell swoop, i spent all that time getting good gear and was now getting pawned by noobs in mix and match greens! no i couldnt just start all over again to get to 70 and start the same shit getting it all at 70 wacking out another 20 days just to have the shame stuff hit me twice..."guess what guys new expansion!".  basically an Over priced expansion that blinded many players with phrases such as "Two new races!" "New lvl cap" .....what they mean is, well everyone is starting to get bored of the game soooo....lets make them start over!

Nope BC killed WoW for me.

Well im comming back to FFXI after playing WoW and quitting after BC came out. So i've made the decision but i really dont want to go back to a highly japanese server like the one i was on last time, made grouping even harder and more boring, so does anyone know a mainly English speaking server thats friendly? I wonder is there a list of Nationality population on server worlds? either way i really dont want to be surrounded by players i have to use auto translate to communicate with!

Thanks in advance Ibster
