Which is a complete 180 from the interview he gave STOked the week before.
More than likely, they'll just start releasing the new episodic missions a couple of weeks early.

Season 4 is scheduled for June, according to Stahl's recent interview on Stoked. Other than C-Store, there are no content releases coming out before then.

Because he mentions and quotes (but strangely does not link) the thread on the PlanetSide forums in which Virrago (PlanetSide Senior CSR) confirms it. It's near the bottom of page 2. http://forums.station.sony.com/ps/posts/list.m?start=15&topic_id=88000026753 He later goes on to mention that more information will be forthcoming in several weeks. |

So, what was it about? I see a vague reference to Jupiter Fleet in Stormshade's final post, but that's pretty much it. |

Cryptic pays lipservice to canon or Treknology when it suits their purposes, and completely disregards it at all other times. Or have you not wondered why the money-free Federation has 15 different forms of currency in this game? And that's not counting C-store cash. |

Originally posted by Renoaku You obviously haven't discovered autofire yet. Space combat in STO is really little more than turning circles while letting your weapons autofire, while hitting the specials as they cycle through their timers. But if you enjoy it, great. Have fun. |

Since the game wasn't actually made with Trekkies as a target audience, they might want to wait until next year , by which time they might actually have put enough Trek into it to make it remotely interesting to the rank and file. |

Will you ever buy another Cryptic game?

No, I won't buy another game from Cryptic. |

Originally posted by grapevine You'll have to tell me which version of Assimilation you were playing, because I just ran through it in half an hour and I was only held about 5 times. Most of the wandering Borg and even the alcoved Borg are gone from the first part of the interior map, where you're looking for the correct teleport device. You don't need to fight at all on that level, but if you do, it's fairly easy to manage. Managing the bridge officers isn't that difficult. Just right-click to disable any of their abilities that might aggro more mobs (turrets, grenades) and set them to not attack by default. Designate targets by using the Y key. Or, if you can't be bothered by that, simply park them in an area where they can do all of their regular attacks without having line of sight to any mobs that you don't intentionally pull. And yes, those areas are in the map, especially the last area. |

To be fair, that mission, "Assimilation", has been toned down extensively from when it was on Tribble. It's no longer the insane Borg zerg that it once was. I agree that Season 3 is when we'll probably see things going in the right direction, having gotten out from under Zinc's boot, but I also see Season 2 as being important in laying the groundwork for that. It's pretty obvious now that they finally have people that actually care about the IP running things. From what I've read on the forums, now that they've finally won the right to make STO start acting like Trek, the next battle is with the accountants and PR types that are insisting that everything new go into the c-store. |

Originally posted by yourhead The episode was "Who Mourns for Adonais' and the only Greek god actually portrayed was Apollo (the others having already long since deciding to leave Humanity to its own devices.) And it certainly wasn't that bad, having touched on what was then a really new concept - that the ancient gods had actually been visitors from outer space. You'd see this touched on again by Battlestar Galactica (both versions) and it was the heart and soul of what Stargate was about. The vertical travel issue is a problem because Cryptic made a number of encounters that were out of plane, which completely wrecks the "tall ship" feeling they were going for. They have said they're looking into increasing the vertical pitch angle to 85 degrees (from the current 45 degrees) which is just short of straight up, and that would be fine. |

Originally posted by brostyn I have no problem with LOTRO, in fact I play it. The problem with Jordan's work is just what you said. Its not new. Its generic fantasy. The reluctant hero, a model of perfection. Just like the heroes of LOTR. Hey, that was cool all those years ago, but now fantasy as evolved. Culture has evolved. I enjoy reading about heroes who may not be true heroes. They don't always forgive. Sometimes they do morally improper things to get the job done. Sometimes you don't know who the real bad guy is(Fire and Ice and Black Company). That's real life. Amazingly, what you just described is Rand al'Thor. |

Originally posted by Xondar123 And there is nothing wrong with having positive podcasts. Again, their show isn't about all the negatives, it's about how to play the game itself. I mean, are you really having that much trouble finding constant negativity about STO that you need them to put it into their podcast every week too? They aren't lying about how they feel about the game. They enjoy it. But they also know that there are a lot of problems with it, and they recognize it. Enjoying it and not liking parts of it is possible, you know. Bryan was never on the Advisory Council, so none of the three have been "removed". According to the podcasts, he doesn't have the time to play it very much, which is why he was barely a Lt Cmdr as of last week. Only Chris and Jeremy were ever listed as being on the Council. The comment about Klingons was that they felt Cryptic should have held the Klingons from launch, instead of releasing them half-assed like they did, and released them at Season 1 or Season 2 when they were much more complete. And in the feeding frenzy of that thread on the official boards, that's been completely changed to them somehow wanting the Klingons removed. One person stated it, and it caught on like wildfire despite being completely inaccurate. It's pretty obvious who watches the show, who doesn't, and who is halfassing it. For the record, I cancelled my subscription three days into release (at the end of headstart) and there is nothing Cryptic can do to ever bring me back to that mess, except perhaps go F2P and refund my $60. But I'm not going to sit here and let my friend have his character assinated over distortions and outright lies. |
