What about the part where MMORPG asks about the integration of the Cash Shop where ANET only puts "Items of Convenience"? When they don't sell well, ANET codes inconvenience into the game with the destruction of LA.

Now the only locations in the game that have all the facilities that players need (Bank, TP, Crafting, Trainers, Vendors etc) in one place are now behind paywalls.

Paying for increased convenience is one thing. But to have to pay to keep what we already had that was taken away???????? Anet made the game even more inconvenient than it had previously been in order to re-sell it back to us.

do you even played the game ?

LA is not the only place with all the crafting stations, bank, trading post and all the other things

small tip look at other main towns

Compared to EQ1, EQ2, WoW, DAOC, GW1, etc....GW2's combat system is of the most boring.

Tanks/Healers/Control don't actually exist, so everyone ends up being DPS with healing/control/armor side-speccing abilities. This just ends up with everyone being an amalgamation of everything rolled into a DPS class that just spams their 8 hotkeys until whatever it is, is dead.

your wrong tanks healers and control does exist but its not like in the rest of mmos where you are bound to your class

you can spec in many ways (traits, runes, armor sets, sigils, utility skills play important role here)

"World Bosses" in GW2 are a joke, they stand still while flashy "Aimpoints" show you where to attack while the boss throws out scripted event attacks every X amount of HP or after X amount of time has passed, rinse, repease. Every World Boss encounter I fought in was the most boring thing ever. Shiny effects everywhere with 50+ people just spamming all their abilities without a care in the world about adds. Someone goes down, a random stranger comes up and "Rezes" you during combat, continue with hotkey spam. Far too easy, no soul, no thought behind it, just spam spam spam click click click, next target.

show me a game that doesnt have scripted fight

even the mighty WoW have the same

It's not ludicrous for the game to obtain 5,000,000 - 10,000,000. World of Warcraft managed to get more than that.

However, it's highly unlikely that this game will reach that amount.

WOW achieved 5 million in its first year but that included 40% subs from their China launch

July 2005, China launch, total 3.5m subs,  1.5 from China

following a 2 million subscriber announcement on June 14th. Although it's believed that Chinese consumers are paying significantly less than Western consumers to play the title, this is still a significant and extremely impressive milestone.

Jan 2006. 5m

they dont have sub model in China

its pay per hour

so anyone that played 1 hour is counted as a sub in blizzard eyes

I'm happy if they get to 2 million of sales (1 million is already a big number)

Just off the beta tester numbers alone, 5 million on day one is no exaggeration.  Not everyone who is buying the game signed up to test it.  In fact beta tester numbers are always the small number of a game, never more then the buyer numbers of a game.

No no, you might have your information wrong 5,000,000 invites went out. That does not mean 5,000,000 people played the beta. For example, I received my beta key for last weekend's event so I'm technically 1 of those 5,000,000. However, I didn't actually participate.

But you would have had to register your key in order to make you a registerd beta user, meaning you would have to had taken an active role in becoming that number.

no no no

i recieved few keys but i never registered for beta test and didnt participate

yet im counted in it

they send 5mil beta keys directly to players or various portals like mmorpg, curse and many others

Because no ENDGAME and is boring after max lvl

and what is this  ENDGAME everyone is talking about?

every single post that bash the game have NO ENDGAME thingy in it but doesnt say anything more than that

"They had over 5 million different beta applications/keys for beta. That is more than the bulk of all GW2 copies that have ever been sold...and that is just beta keys."

Really?  :)  You agree that everyone who has a beta key has been playing every chance they get and will pre-order the game?

yeah i recived like 10 keys alone

my mailbox was spammed by them just to go and play the damn game that i never register ;d

15$ a month so I know great quality content is pushed out. Unlike F2P games that have half ass added content that lasts a good 5 hours.

if you think that paying 15$ a month give you quality content then look at all the sub MMOS out there :)

they should put max level for 60$ like WoW does then maybe i would play

now theres no way im gonna go thru all this boring PvE just to PvP

Fallout is not a very good settings for an MMO. The whole idea of emptyness and a lone survivor goes down the drain if hundreds of players infest the wasteland.

But i agree.. Don't let Bethesda to touch this IP with a 22-feet pole.

with ESO phasing system this wont be a problem :)

I bought my Alienware Aurora ALX okay okay I know overpriced and all that in 2010. The card on the machine was Geforce 480 GTX which died in July 2012. I got a replacement from Dell since it was still on guarantee in august 2012 a Geforce 580 GTX,I think they did not have a 480 so they gave me an upgrade for free. That promptly died in a month or so and in November 2012 they replaced the card with a Geforce 580 GTX. The card is dying again this week. I think it is the card because the same cycle of events are occurring with display driver failing and freezing or recovering depending on my luck when I try to play a game.

Also when I ran diagnostic

Intel(R) 5520/5500/X58 I/O Hub PCI Express Root Port 3 - 340A PCI Express Status Test failed it says.

So that is about 15 months. Is this normal or is it that the cards that Dell have in stock have short life spans. I am thinking of asking them to replace it and may be upgrading to a GeForce 680 GTX not even sure if my machine can take that although the PSU is 850 watts but they have not updated bios on the motherboard so I think a 7 series is out of the question but am worried about spending too much on a 4 year old machine . It is a beast though cannot even lift it so damn heavy. The thing if I bought it and replaced it and something went wrong I would not have a guarantee to fall back on but if I buy the card from them and they replace it I can always go back and get them to come if something goes wrong.I paid a lot for this machine but it is still very good.

Just wondering about this short life span of the card.

that happens alot when you buy from alienware

next time build your own PC

Frior FTW!

ohh i saw it in WoW now the game is easy mode not like before

they did listen to all the complaints too :)

Is everyone in this thread thinking that ZOS won't police the mods at some point and disable the ones they don't want? It's dead simple for them to break the functionality of add-ons they don't want in the game...and they will.

Some mods (like the return mail for "infinite storage" someone linked above) push the limits of modding into exploit territory... how long do you really think those will be around after beta?

we already saw this in WoW

this is WoW2

The game has moved firmly into the P2W grinder camp. Either you grind for 12 hours a day to be relevant/make enough gold to get by, or you get a full time job and buy gems and convert to gold, which is the better option. 1 day of work at minimum wage makes you roughly a months worth of gold from farming in game. This is broken. This is a completely broken system.

That's not by accident, ArenaNet is not to blame for this, but their parent company NC$oft however, is. Good luck with WildStar and the inevitable cash grab it becomes as well if you are looking forward to it, because as soon as they figure out it's not a WoWkiller, it's going to become another cash grab style dagger in your back grinder.

but you grind for what? can you tell me?

for legendary? its optional

ascended gear? they are easy to get if you play the game and do stuff doesnt req any grind

i got like 10 boxes with ascended gear in like 2 weeks just playing 2-3 hours a day

As someone who went from WoW to GW2 I can easily say the Gem Store in its current state is easily acceptable and fine. You have Wow which is a monthly fee AND they cut content from game and let you buy for ridiculous amounts. GW2 pumps FREE content out on such a fast pace you easily get your moneys worth.

Azurrel who says gold is hard to get is correct though, and that is intended. It lets gold keep value and not get to stupid amounts like WoW which is easily in the millions. The fact ANY player can get gold and buy items from the cash shop is a extra bonus. You don't NEED any items in there, they are a bonus if you decide you want it, whether that;s with real money or gold.

WoW cutting out game content and making you pay for it? Really? Pets and mounts that are few and  no better than everything found in game, equals game content to you? Getting that desperate, are we?

If you are that desperate to defend GW2's item shop by erroniously comparing it to WoW's, come back when WoW's item shop lets you pay for resources, perks, boosts, convient fast travel items, content area's etc like GW2's does lol.

well 60 dollars gives you a lvl 90 char.

No it doesn't.

it does

sorry but theres no collision detection and there wont be

yes and 90% of the players will visit the keeps just to check the shops blocking the spot for the pvpers

thats very smart

ESO siege machines are build instantly - everyone can pop one doesnt req any kind of resource

GW2 siege machines need to be build up and req supply, supply is limited

ESO map isnt that big yeh looks big but if you count the travel times between points its less than a minute

And dolyaks in GW2? You could kill them and make more points for the server than holding a keep made. Early in the game they disabled the rewards for them but they still gave points for kills. While everyone else was zerging in that game I earned more points killing the enemy dolyaks. I put it on the forum for them to know about but people just acted like they weren't able to do basic math and the zergs continued.

Strategic battles can't come fast enough for me.
