LvL 50 FA/SS Tank, Freedom Server

to be honest, I have had a blast playing this game. I haven't had this much fun in a game in years. Yes the launch was horrible, and the network outage was a pain. But I am ok with it. 

I look forward to the updates and new powers. as for the other hero mmo's CoX is still fun too, but champs was just horrible. laggy and not fun at all. 

I will play this till they take the server down all together. 

But if I am being "HONEST"....

A higher lvl cap and more content is badly needed in my openion. I see what they have in store sofar, and it looks promising. But only time will tell.

As for the pay for DLC, that did tick me off a bit. That is something that should be included in the free updates in my humble openion. But hey, that's just my openion. 

I really wish they had cross platform play, But I am sure there are reasons why we don't. But I can hope for the future lol. Half my friends play on PC and half on PS3... So I may be looking into buying it for the PS3 aswell lol

So for those of you that like the game: Keep playing hand have fun!

For those that think its a lost cause: Have fun somewhere else lol

As for the Superhero MMO genra, CoX and DCUO are the only 2 I deem worth playing. I like them both, and play them both still today. Champs.. well I tried the free and left it for dead!

I beg to differ here. CO has many nice things at least for me. I was CoX subscriber for 2 years before switching to CO and I think I would have a hard time going back to CoX because the cooldowns and the lack of flexibility. DCUO is not doing that great but still can appeal to certain crowd.

Anyway, since they have free versions, better for new players to try both and decide for themselves what they like to play.

 

Well that's the beauty of openions, they can differ lol, I'm glad you like CO. It just wasnt for me. I know some players who love it, and some that hate it. But hey! every game has them lol.

I have been playing CoX for 7 yers and love it. And with the new Incarnate system, the cooldowns are darn near gone if you build your toon right.

But hey have fun in CO, I'll play CoX abd DCUO and we will all be happy in our decisions =P

You must understand, they have to restrict access for free players, they rely on the VIP or paying players, and the market to keep the game afloat. If you want everything, then pay the sub. If not play free.

Yes there are restrictions on free players. And thats how it should be, otherwise why have a game anyway. If they arn't gonna make money with it...

I for one will be a VIP player, and have been playing since launch.

after 6 years, i'm prertty burnt on CoH/V, Be playing DCUO now =)

I agree! I am playing Vindictus, and I LOVE IT!!!

Its action oriented, and really stunning if your system can support the higher settings.

I play City of Heroes and Champions Online. When I can pay for it lol. I'm currently unemployed...

Vindictus really helps me in times like this,. Wish there was a F2P Superhero MMO out there tho lol.

I know Champions wil go F2P in Q1 of 2011, so I am looking forward to that :D

I agree! I am sooo having a ball with this game!! I am a 6 year vet migrating for CoH, and I can ttell you this is one really fun game!

The ability to change roles is awesome! And some of the power upgrades are just a joygasm!

I agree! I have played a lot of MMO's and COH/V have the most friendly players by far. Or I wouldn't have been playing for 3+ years :)

I have met some of my best friends through COH as well as my current business partner. In short COH has changed my life for the better in more ways than one. 
And I hope to meet more friends this way.

Don't be shy look me up sometime everyone. I play on several servers. Justice, freedom and protector mostly! But I can jump on another if anyone wants to hang out!

Willpower may look boring, but for people that are using the natuaral origin may like that their natural toon doesn't have a freaky glow!

Duel Blades looks to be a really nice set imo!
I can't wait to see them both on the test server, I want to to test those out. The only thing i am worried about is duel balde/shields. that is gonna be tricky on the animators i believe.

Saying  WoW is the best game in the world is an openion, Not a fact! I give you that it is the best selling game that is a fact, (for the sheep) and that it has over 3 mil users workd wide. But not the best game. I don't feel there is a way to grant any game as "The Best Game in The WorId"
 I tried it several times and for me it's not the best game.

I am glad you like it that much though. Keep playing it and I will keep playing mine.

To say that one game is "better" than the other is an openion at best from anyones point of view.
I like GW better but I base that on my openion, you can disagree and I am fine with it!
I can't believe this has gone on this long. WoW is a good game but it's not for everyone.
GW is a good game but it's not for everyone.
GW and WoW are both good yet different games leave it at that.

As for GW not being an MMO who is to say it isn't ? Is there a governing body that is in charge of classification on these things? I Didn't think so! So yet again that remains openion based. In short the things being argued here are openions not facts that we can proove validity on. So go play your respective games and stop the insanity.

You might try City of Heroes, I play that with all 3 of my kids. 8,10 and 14. We have a ball and yes one is on 56k and he doesn't complain about the lag at all. It is really a simple MMO by default. picking you powers and enhancements is as simple as I have seen to date. Even my 8yr old has a pretty crazy time with it, he is lvl 45 now after only 2 months. My 14 yr old has his own Supergroup (Guild)
My brother and his 2 lil girls play as well. And you can't beat the character tool in that game. Plus the comicbook feel really is right up the kids alley!

If you are going to give COH or COV a try.. I would get the Good vs. Evil eddition, has both games for the price of one.
Plus you only pay one monthly price !!!
Plus you get all the hero bennies from the villain side, like being able to enter into a supergroup base, and all the COV costume options as a hero! And the community is awesome!  You can allways find someone to play with even if it's for only like 30 min.
Getting ingame cash is simple. most lvl 50 make so much they just give it away!! And there is allmost allways a costume contest going on undet the Atlas Statue in Atlas Park, So make your toon look cool and it could pay off!
I jump on for an hour or so everyday, then back to GuildWars! Those are the 2 games I play.

I have tried WOW but I didn't care much for it to honest with you.
DDO was cool but like was stated earlier doesn't fell like an MMO much.

So my openion is COH/COV and Guildwars Nightfall. I like the henchmen option, I really don't need to team much with that game.
