All I got to say is Outfit Tab and some more alien'ish races. other than that the games looking good imo.

I actually like the art style they chose. Not really cartoony but not to real either.

Also forgot to mention right before I got Rift, I did a little surfing on the game it self ,some review and preview threads and some general forum threads....and I have to say that its been awhile where most of the threads for a new mmo  are not bitch bitch bitch/this sucks/ fail/ omg wtf so unpolished.But instead most threads have been on the postive/Plus side.

Honestly I was on the fence too. but then I and a buddy got talking about Rift (he had already bought it at this point and got to about level 20). He told me that he has not had this much fun with an mmo in a long time. The Rifts/World events were fun as hell, the class/soul systme really let you customize a class to your liking etc etc. any ways after the conversation was done I was down loading rifts :) ,and I have to say Im very glad I did. I dont think that Rift will take the population hit after the free month like a lot of other mmos in the past one to two years has. As some have already said its polished very well.Ive noticed no bugs or glithces as of yet,and they are already gearing up for a content patch..not a bug(s) patch/fix :).

Its like none of the haters have ever had any intereaction with 40k aside from maybe one game.

 lol hahah! yep My thinking too. EVERY 40k Session consists of  TWO SIDES. And I also belive thq/vigil stated or said that there is going to be a story behind the alliances of the TWO Sides,that way it would explain why MAYBE the Space marines and eldar are having a truce etc etc..like a few have stated Im excited a 40k mmo is coming out,but im going to keep my hype to a minimum til it gets close to launch 3-4 years MAybe 2 if were lucky. And you really cant listen to the wigg heads they dont MAKE the game.

only humanoid species as PC, non-human yes but all humanoid, as far as we know no non-humanoid species will be playable, and i really hope they will stick with that

 Guess what I was trying to say was, more Alien in nature Humonids. Like the Calmari,the Sultan (alien co pilot with  Lando Calrissian in RTotJ etc etc.

Awsome news on adding a 3rd district,hope they maaaybe add one more,but from what it looks like they are trying to bring APB back from the ashes,withc is awsome. Was a damn fun game at its core.

I hope they try and add an area or two as well. Was a fun game.

 I have to agree. I was on the DCUO kick ,was thinking it was going to be a step up from CoH ( not that CoH is Bad). but in the end its Marvel alliance online IMO. Hell even CO is better than DCUO...the combat IS cool in DCUO but the lack of custimization and ability to TRUELY make a concept character at creation is LAaaame.

In what other game on the market can you fully loot your dead PvP opponents?  In what other game can you build and hold massive wars over player-built cities and keeps?  In what other game can you craft and sail and fight with your own player-made ship?

What WAR should have been like too. I mite have to check out Darkfall :)

I love me some PvE,but latley the dynamic that PvP CAN provide if done right just seems down right fun. and thats what games are missing on is the FUN factor.

Perpetuum is EvE with mech basicly.

I hope spring 2011 like they keep saying,but if not I'll eagerly await for it.

SW Tor will get pushed back to summer 2011...maybe.

Add more zones for one,2 was just not enought IMO. I really hope they turn APB around. I played in the beta and a little bit of post launch,I loved the CONCEPT and feel of it all. Custimization was another game in and of it self. but again the 2 big (as we all know Hacks/balance) issues need to be addressed first. anding more menaingful higher rank PvP content sound very promising too.

Pretty much similar thoughts here too. With what APB was, I had a blast in beta,besides the hackers. And having a TURF system implimented some where would just add to the flavor of the game...not to compare exactly but something even similar to Global Agendas AvA season would be a good idea...have like 3 maps each with territory and a point system. have it run a couple of weeks with rewards at the end would be niffty :)

The information itself is interesting from a business standpoint as well as a gaming standpoint as many people who played the game were extensively invested in the creation process.  I had a friend in my guild for instance who was a very talented artist and was making good money creating custom content for other guilds and players.  So I think to some the post is very relevant as to what the game may look like going forward in terms of content creation with f2p vs premium.

 

Guys relax, the weekly updates are not addressed to you specifically but rather the APB community collectively and anyone interested.  Some weeks they may talk about things you are interested in, other weeks not so much.

 

Everyone who played the game knows where the game went south.  If they continually talk about their anticheat plans it 1) gives insight to hackers on what the game has planned, 2) keeps their chief failure foremost in the collective consciousness while introducing a negative aspect to people ignorant of that fact and 3) set themselves up to be judged on that basis when the game launches and 4) sets a self defeating standard since we know all online games have cheaters.

 

Personally, I'm just gonna wait and see.  I miss the game.  If it is no better atleast it will be f2p.

I hear what your saying, but tbh this info should have been one of the last things they released to the APB community,whats left of it. the last thing I want to hear is how they are going to make money.

Now a good example of a game that was REALLy hyped was WAR,most of the podcast/videos were like "LOOK AT THIS!" "OHh check this out this is going to be SO COOL!!" "your going to LOVE this!!" . SW:TOR/Bioware release info every friday about the game. Bioware advertises (not hype imo) it to keep people intrested.

I have to agree with TwiIX. I honestly dont give a F about their WAY to make MONEY.THEY are NOT going to make money if the dont IMPROVE the GAME. So  if i was a Dev./Ceo'ish person that just pick up a game like APB and its issues, I would address the public about the MAIN concern(s) not how they plan to PAY for the F'n servers lol. Honestly posting something LIKE this first shows me they are going to try and milk it for what money they can before it kraps out in a year or 2,and ya i know a company/buisness needs to make money to support an online game.
