I thought the same thing til i played around with some of the skills together, you just have to find the synergys and what works best for you,and is most fun. |

@ Zikari Warhammer online: Age of Reckoning implimented the "Guard" skill for the Heavy armor/tank classes. It worked very well, I felt as a tank I was contributing to the team, by being able to gaurd one of my less armored team mates, and it suited the role of a tank. In a game with out the trinity, peeps are right, you need to learn new tactics and work together a bit differently. IDK about DAoC's RvR, but atm in WvW (my personal exp) most of the action is zerging. and people complaining about how there class cant take another class 1v1, is honestly stupid..for the most part imo. PvP is team based play. if you want to win 1v1 you better off playing a FPS or fighting game >.0 |

The dungeons on the other hand...idk only ran 3 but it felt like a rez fest...personall exp,not saying there bad or anyting, lol guess I need to play a few more of them >.0 |

[Column] Guild Wars 2: Noobs Happen

Hell I remeber in vanilla wow, specificly when I was just starting in felwood,I had gotten my self into trouble a few times (not knowing the area very well and wondering into danger) and a higher level player (passing by) would actually stop and help me out. |

All Loot/Level based systems will always, always have a grind. Get over it, Honetly the only time a Level/Loot based system will not have a grind is when they just hand you the damn loot or make it so easy that there is no point in playing the game. I played the krap out of Diablo1 and made the choice to grind the krap out of it for gear/loot on Nightmare, and you know what I had a lot fun doing it because I (read I) made the choice to do so, and the game was just fun to play, aspecially when my buddies joined in. Oh and playing with other people, was the other fun part of a multi player/online game. you dont want a grind go play a single player non loot based system other wise your going to be unhappy for a very long time. |

[Column] Guild Wars 2: Getting Rid of the Grind
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 9/13/12 12:21:04 PM
I grinded the shit out of Diablo 1 to get the best LOOT. Any game that has a LOOT/cosmetic based system will have a grind some where, but the level grind..not really feeling it my self...the player makes it a grind IMO. Im only level 40 atm,and still really enjoying the DEs,and ya some times they can get repetitiave, but you know what its a lot of fun when you get distracted from what you were GOING to do because a DE is going on and you see a bunch of players running around, and you decide to join in. but honestly like the TSW, guild wars 2 went away from the mold a bit, and people dont like it. Why? well imo because you have to relearn mechanics and all the nEW things they did a bit different. And I was one of em, when i first played TSW I could not stand it, the mission system was confusing , and so were a lot of the other mechanics, same with GW2 and the skill swapping and DEs. but after about an hour or 2 in both games I got really into them , and a blast to play. |

I have to agree with what some others are saying, shut down aion LOL, CoH even though dated is much better IMO, and both are/were in the F2P model. But it is what it is RIP CoX , The only true Superhero game! |

That was AWSOME! I like the blend they did. People getting to overly critical about shit these days. As a few said that video was NOT for players, it was for TV and to get people intrested in GW2. actually reminded me of an old school everquest trailer.

Originally posted by ironhelix I think the DEs a great, ya sure they may be quest hubs,so to speak...but players are/can work together, and do so more often, now that you cant kill still, ninja node, etc so on and so forth.

Originally posted by Praetalus This The Dynamic Events, node/mob/loot sharing has really created a more organic feel (imo). I personally have not seen so many people working togther in a long time. At times Im planning to go do a specific thing, then find my self caught up in a DE with other playes, and the more there are the more fun the DEs get (imo). And ya at times the DEs can get repetitive but over all its enjoyable not having a "Quest log" full of quests and having to keep track of 20-40 of them at a time. Honestly I did not think the PvE was going to be on par with their PvP, but it is...and imo this is kinda what WAR should have been,I still miss WAR too :( |
