Thanks for the link!

I know they have a very basic official site here  dcuo.station.sony.com/ but they say on that they have more information here www.myspace.com/dcuo on a myspace page...for some reason. Can anybody actually access that myspace page of theirs? I click  the link and I just get taken to myspace.com whether I'm logged in or not. Am I missing something?

You guys are totally clueless.  An initial successful MMOFPS that pioneers the genre will have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ORCS AND DORKS FOLKS THAT POPULATE THE MMORPG REALM.

You know who's gonna make an MMOFPS successful?  The 10 million + FPS gamers out there looking for the latest and greatest.  Catching even a fraction of them means overnight success.  Crafting?  No.  Stick to RPGs; and wait your turn; and quit holding back progress on the MMOFPS by sticking your nose where it does not belong.

I completely agree. Unfortunately I dont think huxley will be the one to change things because from what ive seen the fps combat seems to be nothing but spray and pray with rediculous quake-like weapons. All it comes down to to be better than your opponent in pvp is having played and grinded longer, and being a higher 'level' with more attacks to click on and watch...thats it! I personally cannot stand 99% of mmorpgs because theyre all the same magical fantasy rubbish which you could play with your eyes closed. But every time theres a major mmo title with great fps potential, the 'orcs and dorks' crowd come along and ruin it. MXO, STO and now stargate worlds which could have been the best ever mmofps are now filled with the wow type commuity which love their crafting and loot collecting...oh yeah and grinding! But one day there will be an mmofps which will blow these mmorpgs away, only question is when.

Yeah its mad having no real pvp... Such huge potential for this title but it doesnt look good. Treasure hunting and playing in a fancy chatroom isnt gonna last.

Although I definately want to see more than one playable faction, I dont want to be given a 1000 choices of species/factions to play as. Every Star Trek series and film has centered around starfleet...not the ferengi. I cant be bothered to go treasure hunting throughout the game and play an online startrek e-bay, its just not what star trek is about. Creating starfleet alone is a huge work load, so to create every role in the galaxy to keep the x swg players happy shouldnt be a priority. If starfleet is done properly, then it should be diverse enough and in depth enough to keep a lot of people happy...at least until the expansion arrives.

Kontra - Yeah, being able to play the 'bad guy' would be great. Personally, I cant entirely see the point of an online game if everyone is on the same side...wheres the fun in that?

PVP should be in STO, but only if there are two playable factions so they can fight each other...but combat between the same faction (starfleet) shouldnt be allowed. But hey, at least it looks like this mmorpg is going to be a lot more fun than the others...you know...the 10 million other mmorpgs that consist of the same magical stuff with wizards and elves...i'm glad thet theres finally something different here.
