SWTOR Testing makes me miss Pre NGE SWG

Originally posted by MMO.Maverick This si teh most important thing to say here.... from what i have seen (wink wink) if you arent a fan of themeparks or you really only want to relive your fun from SWG. you will be extremely dissapointed.... you absolutely have to go into this game with a fresh mind or you are ruined from the start.......
One thing i would liek to say is that as much as i absolutely loved SWG, SWG was never really a star wars game!! It was an awesome sanbox game set in an IP that generated great comunities that wanted to live in that IP. but it really didnt have the core essence of Star Wars.... |

you know, it hurt my heart the other day when i thought about the fact that i can never log into this game again. i really would have liked to fly my millenium falcon one more time. ride around on my speeders and let me toon set, watching tatooines suns! im gonna miss this game, but it is time. I pray that develpoers have learned from the mistakes of this game, and have also learned what people were so passionate about in this game... no matter what happend to it, it was still one of the best games and communites ive ever played in and will always have a very close place in my heart! May the force be with you SWG!! |

i think it shows more then anything that people arent willing to pay for teh sub games that are out, because they arent as innovative....... i for one am not a fan of items shops because of the unfair advantages they pose. |

Solo players gets the shaft again
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 8/31/11 12:33:27 PM
Originally posted by Foomerang you know, i was thinking the same thing. if your a solo player i can see being upset that there is no solo endgame content. Im actually a bit annoyyed about that myself... but...... if you dont like to play with others, then your not going to pvp or raid... so what is teh point of havign teh best gear when your not really going to use it for its intended purpose? |

Its bad enough what you get to see on just your side.... if anyone doesnt liek that, its more then likely you the ones who write the horrible messages to the opposing side, lol |

No suprise, we all know it....
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 7/26/11 10:54:28 AM
i think the score will totally depend on the story... the story telling in the quests is what is making the difference in the game. what i mean by this is, when i play any game out today and im doing quests, 9 tiems out of ten im not reading the quests story, and if i do read it, nothing is happeneing in teh text that is making me feel immersed into the situation..... What bioware is doing with story( if done right) will make me feel immersed into what is happening and really part of each quest. If they can pull this off with even half the people who play it, the game will be a success... if they cant pull that off, then it will probably fail its expectations..... Also they will have to switch up on the type of quests that everyone is doing as they progress through the game. if they can keep the gameplay feeling dynamic, then i think they have a winner here.... the story telling pillar could be the thing that can save end game for themeparks. I personally really want to play, but im keeping an open mind here, because for me, most endgame in themeparks fail if they dont have any dynamics gameplay. |

Why is Raiding so unpopular to the MMO Community?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 7/22/11 2:08:22 PM
i think in this day in age, raiding has become unpopular because it really hasn't evolved.... the AI does the same things... its normally one huge mob vs 25 people.... and rinse and repeat the exact same thing all over again... Nothing dynamic, nothing that changes... It has gotten boring point blank???

Star Wars: The Old Republic: What’s the Endgame?
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/08/11 8:21:53 AM
i would really hope that when i play this game that a dynamic endgame would be there. this is the major problem with themepark games. Endgame is always the same old monotonous process. i really do hope they can do something better then whats already been done. i would hope that they can chaneg teh processes of the raids, and pvp and add some thing new with this mystery endgame of theres. If not... sadly this game will not keep the numbers its hoping for for long. |

can you guys give me an idea of what this game is like from a core gameplay perspective.
1. is there any questing? any video footage of questing? 2. Does the game have a story arch? 3. Does the core game play perspectiev resemble darkfall, meaning its just log in and level by killing random mobs and building your community?
At teh end of teh day i just want to know if this is fully sandbox or has some themepark integration in it ala SWG did. |

T3 Geared [end game] + Great Guild = Still left the game. (for those interested)
General Discussion « Rift 7/06/11 12:52:16 PM
Yeah... im going to have to agree with teh op here. this game is promising, but the content is just so easy to breeze through, and top with the fact that the endgame is so monotonous, it makes it tough to hang on to this game if you are not a casual player........ anyone who has more then three 3 hours a day to spare for this game, and like variety would definitely find it hard to stay after a while...... it |

The one thing that could 'kill' this game's mass appeal in the West...
General Discussion « ArcheAge 7/06/11 9:38:44 AM
Open world PVP is a gateway for griefing. that has been made very clear by every game in recent history that does it. i think to the level that archage is doing open world pvp, there will definitely be griefing. having a jail system will not stop the fact that someone has lost invested time and items from getting griefed in the first place...... To some this is not a big deal... but i will put money on it that most gamers dont like open world pvp for griefing reasons. Overall PVP is always best when it can be controlled. There are too many people in the mmo world who love making other gamers miserable.... and thats a fact! im definitely interested in this game but after playing AOC and Darkfall, i can say that the cons of open world pvp can decrease a games population very fast. |

Disappointed after seeing live stream combat
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 6/10/11 3:55:39 PM
to be honest, i think the same way on most games i see. everythign looks different when your not teh oen doing it to me. Another thing i will say is this. The devs suck at playing that game.. I have seen player videos of beta doing much better then the devs ever do! for those two reasons, i will reserve my opinion on teh combat truly until i play it for myself! |

u know i never comment on these forums anymore, and i hardly ever read these forums anymore. the reason why i have chosen to do so is because there is alot of negitivity for every game u see. Alot of people going against what teh OP wrote in this thread Can be trailed back to doing exactly what he is talking about... not all of u, but most of you..... The fact is that it makes for a very unhealthy community. I remember a long time ago thsi place used to be a place where u could get really good info on games whether bad or good from people who had weighed teh pros and cons. Now you just see people giving false info, or opinios thats werent really thought through, or just saying things because they want to create animosity amongst others in teh community! They thrive off of it. Its a bad weed!! If this game isnt for you then fine, but this community would be much better off if other readers here didnt just come in and badmouth a game every chance they get because they have personal feelings about it. Its plain old childish.. |
