first of all aoc is NOT a wow killer because wow will NEVER DIE!!!

wow will loose players to aoc... because is't getting old (almost 4 years) BUT wow will stay for manny manny years. So in the next few years you will probably see server merging in wow.. but that's just normal

There will always be people who come back or leave wow

but you'll see in 10 years wow will still have servers running ( UO is also still online..)

I will not say aoc won't break wow's records. The game is getting so popular that is't perfectly possible it will easely hit 10 miljion players

so will wow die because of aoc? the answer is:

NO!!!!

wow was / is still a fantastic game, and i still love it! but I'm a casual gamer because i have a live outside the mmorpg-world. So after TBC came out, i've never done end-game raids anny more. I reached lvl 70, I've done lots of dungeons and pvp, I've also created new characters. But after a while wow became repetitive for me because I didn't have the time to raid all night for gear. So I ended up playing on one of the manny 1000 private servers you can find on the internet... just waiting until Blizz blows new life into wow. Those servers are fun because you can play the game in a total different way. But it is not the same feeling... something is missing... So I started playing trails of other games. Maby that's something you should do to! just search for the game you get the best feeling with. I've tried some f2p games (mostly korean grinders.. fun for a while but it get's boring quick) or try some trails (I really like the EVE-online and DDO trails!) I'm still looking for a good game that I like. But there are still a few I wanna try (LOTRO, VANGUARD, EQ2, ...) and there are also some games i really look forward to (chronicles of spellborn, AION,..)

Don't wait for a new game.. just start trying out!

not. It is your own dessision how mush you play this game, it is you own dessision to choose between social life and wow.... wow has nothing to do with it, it is just a game, it's the player who choose how far they go in playing a game

and for all the people who are thinking about it: WoW is like hardcore, it will NEVER die!!!

its a nice game for a casual player

its not that big and easy to get into, you should try it. Im not saying it will be the best game experience ever, but it is a good casual game :) , i play it sometimes when i have not so mush time to play or just when im bored of other games

Archlord is a really nice game

I haven't played it so long.. It seems to have problems with windows VISTA :( The game was chrashing and freezing all the time, and that's why I quit

But maby I'll give it a try again soon

We'll I've started with wow 3 months after it was released in Europe so I can see myself as an old wow veteran. I still play it sometimes.

The best way to make money is to do quests, grind a bid, trading on the AH, using your skills and sell the stuff you make.... lots of ways...

You will find the places to level yourself, the zones are linked to each other and you will get from one zone to another as you raise your level (just go with the flow ^^)

There is no ranking with the best wowplayer... But i think it must be a chinese no-lifer-goldfarmer or somthing like that

I don't understand your last question... so you haven't bought wow yet and you are playing the trail now?

Well... just go to the 'account management' section on the official wowsite (www.worldofwarcraft.com when you play the US trail, www.wow-europe.com when you play the European trail) and then upgrade your account

It is also recomered for a new player to read the game manual on the official wow site (so you know what you are doing)

LOTRo copied the interface of WoW but replaced the graphics with very hardware demanding versions, not cartoonish at all. VG goes way out to avoid any trace of WoW influence. Tabula Rasa has its own style of graphics, big blocks but nothing cartoonish. Hellgate London goes basically FPS style, with an added option of 3rd person, but the camera is generally differently aligned. AoC has very dark and wild feeling, something totally missing in WoW.
I wonder why you think every other game is cartoonish. I do not think there is another major league game that has similar graphics style to WoW, apart from WAR.

LOTRO copied the interface of Asheron's Call 2 which Turbine put out before WoW was ever on the scene. Blizzard copied and modified the AC2 interface. Get your facts straight people!!

All mmorpg's are looking the same, I don't believe you can say some are copies from another, most of them just look the same. And because wow is one of the most popular everybody says that wow looks like every other mmo and that all the mmo's looks like wow...

If I would buy one of these games, I would buy WAR

Yes, it has become the "golden commercial standard" in terms of MMO gaming. However, I'm tired of hearing people who chose not to like it bash it in every third thread.

1. WoW PvP is as strategic as any other game on the market right now

2. WoW PvE is as complex and challenging, at the higher levels, as any other game on the market right now

3. There are KIDDIES in every game. There are plenty in WoW, sure, but there are also a lot of more mature players.

 

Just leave WoW alone. Some people hate it because it's "easy" ... sure it's easy to level to the cap. You can be L70 and suck ... but you know what? I've played forced grouping games w/ endless group grinds to end-game and found at max level there are still a plethora of terrible players.

WoW graphics are cartoony, sure, but they are also very well themed. Everything fits. You're free to dislike it, but don't cite "cartoonish graphics" like it's bad. WoW's graphics beat the snot out of a lot of "realistic graphics" games because you end up looking like dolls rather than anything more interesting.

Anyway - in conclusion - Love WoW or hate WoW, stop bashing it in every third post you make.
