Which ones did you play in 2010? and will you play in 2011?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/03/11 3:41:12 AM
I played LOTRO for almost whole 2010 casually. I liked it a lot. I first bought it in 2008 but left it for wotlk. End 2009 I was bored of wow so I went back to LOTRO. I will keep playing it in 2011 I'm a lifetimer annyway. However I haven't played it that mush the past few weeks. I'm planning on returning to wow to try out cataclysm. Haven't played it for more then a year now. I quit because of the community. And because I did everything I could do within my playstyle. I'm casual and I just didn't fit in those 'omghaxorpwnage'-hardcore raiding guilds. My server was filled with that. So my plan is to just go back, lvl my toons to 85, I might roll a goblin or something, doing some normal dungeons, maby some heroics, and maby some 10 raiding on normal mode and some pvp, as long as I find it fun. During 2010 I also played some guild wars again with a friend. Playing with someone you know is fun. I quit cause he quit with guildwars. But if he goes back I might do that aswell. I bought global agenda on steam for 6 euros last week. But I haven't found the time to play it yet, so that's also planned for 2011. I bought way to mush games on steam for just a few euros last week... lol.. I don't know when I will play these.. :p I hope I played them al before 2015 or someting edit: and I tried some f2p's and other games like: runes of magic, WAR, Dungeons and dragons, chronicles of spellborn(rip), ...I can't remember what else. I never stayed there for longer then a few days The only 2 games on my list for 2011 that I might buy are portal2 and guildwars2
that's about it |

It is a casual mmo. You just level through the zones. This is not a game to rush through. The quests are verry well written and leveling is really nice, you feel yourself a part of the story. It is a great game to do some lotr-rp :-) there are dungeons and instances, also as a part of the lore. They are also fun to do, but you don't have to do them. Some people compare it to wow. But I think that is a wrong idea. The first difference is the community. Lotro has a nice and mature community filled with casual mmo players who play for fun. Like wow feels sometimes like a second job and has a more less mature community (I played wow for a few years and now lotro for almost a year now). There is pvp, called monster play. You can play as an orc or spider (just something evil) and go out in one zone and do quests and kill other players. The pvp is also story driven and whatever people say about it. The lotro pvp is fun. I liked it. But this game is a pve game in the first place. So if you are a hardcore pvper or hardcore raider and you want a game with 25 man hardmode raids, then this game is not for you. But there are raids at lvl 50, 60 and on max lvl 65 and there are hardmodes. Some of them are pretty hard to do and require some skill and managing. But as I said, this is a casual game with a casual community. If you want to try it, the game has an extended free trail these days called 'free to play' , don't expect to mush from that. It just means you can play the first 3 zones, 1 dungeon, and from lvl 1 to about 25 for free. That's enough to keep you bussy for a bid, and enough time to see if you like the game :) |

I also play single player games and online shooters, because sometimes I also get bored from mmo's ;) So if you don't know what to do I recommand you to play something else. Maby you find something you like. There were some nice sales on steam last two weeks. But even without sales, I'm sure you can find a cheap and nice game over there. For example I bought myself : Left 4 dead 2. It was his 6 euros well spend! really a great game with a fun multiplayer. I also bought mount and blade warband. A sweet rpg. I find it a bid hard to get into it, but I'm starting to like it :-) I also have global agenda now, haven't played it yet, but it's something new for me. Annyway, if you're bored, try to find a nice game outside the mmo's, just my advice ;-) |

This thread is only for people who play rift in beta. I've never been a rift fanboy. I also never really followed it. But I'm getting curious about this game when I see the screenshots. So my question is, what is rift like? Is it a good game? Did you liked it while you were playing the beta? What are the pro's and con's? What do you think about the game? Please only answer when you actually played the beta, I want to read real opinions. |

Would you play a female character as a guy?

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Is Upon Us
News Discussion « General Discussion 12/07/10 11:23:40 AM
I will wait a bid before playing wow again, cata looks great, but at the moment some RL issues are more important. So let's say I'll start playing cata in february? Getting to 85 should take a week or two I guess, if people can do it in less then 6 hours, I can do it casual in 2 weeks =) |

The best peroid of WoW, patch 1.11 part 1.
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 11/14/10 8:44:30 AM
hehe, ye the vanilla days.. they had something. I remember the battles in and around tarren mill.. they lasted for hours and had absolutely no point ^^ my personal raid favourite was UBRS. that old 10 man raid, it had that leeroy jenkins feeling ^^ it wasn't that hard but it was fun for average raiders in that time like me. I tried to set up a raid guild with other players a few times. We weren't good enough to get into those ultra hardcore raiding guild, hehe ^^ So we tried it ourselves. We never managed to get into those 40 man raids, but we had a decent guild were people made groups for dungeons, and we did some raids to ZG and UBRS, and we also invaded lot's of allaince towns ^^ just to have fun, but that's years ago. good times |

I played wow since vanilla on and off until december 2009. So that means I'm almost a year clean :p . It was mainly cause my guild was falling apart and because of the terrible community of wow. I had enough of all the dickjokes, your mom jokes and the chucknorris and 'anal' stuff in general chat. The only time general chat was fun was at night when it was kinda quiet on my server. Then you could come across mature people. Also the 'gearscore' thing is something I don't really like. It takes the fun away. But cata looks great. So maby I'll give it a try for let's say 2 months. I'm not sure. But I won't be there on release. |

How many of you plan to play Rift, GW2, and SWTOR equally?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/14/10 6:41:50 AM
I don't play so mush games these days. I'm bussy with some IRL things. But I play some lotro from time to time, I'm a lifer annyway so I can login when I want to. But I will probably also play GW2 with a friend when it comes out. We played GW together for a long time so I guess we will also enjoy GW2. SWTOR looks nice but I have so little time to play, same goes for RIFT |

How old were you when you played your first MMORPG?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/07/10 10:19:40 AM
The first version of runescape when I was 14, it brought me into the mmo scene after that there was rubies of eventide, wow, eve, lotro,... and alot of rubbish |

There is no game that will kill wow, and there will never be a game that will kill wow. This kind of threads are pointless. There is no sush a thing as a wow killer. |

Why do they use Belgium? I mean it doesn't sound awesome. More like 'meh, whatever' |

Don't have a fallback mmo.. I don't fall back on an mmo when I'm bored of it. But I do have a fallback game: age of empires 2, playing it online with friends, oldskool, fun, and my fallback :) |
