I started wow, 3 months after it came out in europe.

I'm not sure if I would have bought it 5 years ago if I would knew what I would know now... I wasted a lot of time for this game

(but I also had a lot of fun!) Let's say I won't and I would have spend more time on going out :p

I played it of and on over the past 5 years, and I'm still playing it.

I'm not sush a hardcore gamer, but sometimes i feel wow starts to swallow me...

and on that point I know I have to quit soon because otherwise i would get addicted.. (It alrdy is an addiction for 5 years..)

Like now, I feel that I play to mush.. so i need to slow down again, and for me that means I won't sub again when I used up my prepaid time. And when I quit I never know when I come back, Maby I will never come back after this stop...

GW2

I'm still playing it

At this moment I'm waiting for our healer to do a fast VH hc run :p

Well wow isn't dieing, atleast not on my server

I understand that it is hard to get groups for older dungeon and raid stuff, but that's why we will have cross server grouping soon in 3.3.

And for the rest, this is my 5the year of wow and I haven't had this problem, I play on darksorrow EU a high populated server.

Dalaran and orgrimmar are packed with players, and I need like 5 minutes to get a group to every instance (lvl80) I want.

So... is wow dieing? NO

I've only played a little on my friends account, but the game seems pretty great.

I have a couple questions though.

Hows the low level population these days? Will I be in a ghost town until I get to lvl 50 + ?

I was thinking of rolling an Arms warrior or a protection Paladin, will this be a good idea for my first time?

I personally prefer grouping over soloing, will there be a lot of group action going on in my journey leveling in the lower levels?

Any PvE server you recommend?

Also any other advice, tips etc?

Also will I loose my life to this game and become a cave troll? Eating left overs out of the fridge at 3 a.m?

Well I play wow since launch :) and I'm still playing it. It's the only mmo that keeps me playing, and I've already played a lot of them (EVE, lorto, archlord, Rom, ... ) so I know what I'm talking about ;)

It's always a good time to start with this game, people are rerolling all the time so you won't be alone :) and you will see more rerolling after the next expansion, because blizzard will give a huge update to low lvl zones, and there will be 2 nex races and more classes for other races.. so verry interresing for a new player!

It's a good idea to roll a warrior! a group always needs a good tank, so there will be a lot of work to do for you ;-)

However I suggest you to maby make your warrior fury, leveling goes faster this way if you wanna level solo atleast, but ofcourse you can always level with arms, that's more interesting for grouping.

You will find a lot of groupquests and there are also a lot of low level dungeons, there is quite a lot of groupaction going on lower lvls. But ofcourse you will see the most of the groupactions in the endgame.

I can't recommend you a server, there are A LOT of servers and I don't know annything about american servers because I play on the european ones ;) just take a low or medium populated server if you're new, or one were you have some friends on so they can help you. I personnaly prefer PVP realms :) for more openworld PVP action, that's also really fun to do.

And you will not loose your life! Wow isn't that hardcore as it was in vanilla-times (before the first expansion) It is a good casual mmo. You don't need to spend 16 hours a day to get good gear. I also raid, I have 2 lvl 80 chars, and I still have a life with studying and a gf ;) so don't be afraid!

and for the rest, HAVE FUN :D!

I play wow, and I will keep playing until GuildWars 2 comes out

Blizz only adds new landscapes ect to wow with their expansions... that's it

they will never change their 'core-gameplay'

sounds interesting to me!

I'm now lvling more characters to 80 so I can choose one to lvl to 85 when the expansion comes out ^^

There is not so mush to say about this topic, only:

"/agree"

WOW is just a fun and easy game

I was planning to return to LOTRO this week, but I heard my kinship didn't exist anny more

and when I came back home from the store (because I planned to buy me a copy of Mom) I had bough a gamecard for wow ^^ lol, I went back to my old guild and I have to say I'm enjoying wow again

We're running some heroics, raids, argent tournament, ... I don't know :) there is always something to do!

This game is a 'must try it out' when it goes f2p

I've heard it is very casual friendly :o , so it might be my game for next year

If I like it I would even spend some money on it ^^

sounds pretty good ^^ But I gonna wait and see what happens I think,  I don't wanna buy a game to see it's a dissapointment and a waist of money. But if it is really good I might try it a few months after it will launch ^^

tnx alot! I'm looking forward to explore Mom :)

I still need to get my main to 50.. im 42 if I can remember correct ^^ (I'm a casual player, I lvl very slowly :p )

Are the new classes fun to play? I'm planning to make an alt.

Hello,

I haven't played lotro for a few months now, I left 2 weeks before they released Mom. I went back to my guild in wow for wotlk, but I'm done there now and I want to return to lotro. I guess a lot of things have changed. I reinstalled the client and downloaded all the updates, the only thing I need to do is buying Mom wish I will do next week, due to im in an exam period until the end of this week. But I have some questions. What is it like to play Mom? is it fun? is it like shadows of angmar (wish I enjoyed a lot). Please tell me about it. Are there still enough people to group with? (I play on evernight EU)

tnx

AION on STEAM?

When you buy and download a game from steam it will just be the same game as when you buy the box. So don't worry. Steam is a professional downloading source so you won't have spyware or things like that. I just checked my steam and I can't see a release date for AION yet. But it will probably be there soon.

I was thinking to return to wow or lotro

I decided to go back to lotro next week, I reïnstalled the client last night, I only need to buy Mom ^^

Minions of mirth is a good mmorpg for mac users

And, you only need to pay one fee to play the game ^^ but a big part is also free to play

otherwise I would say, go play wow, it has a fee indeed.. but it is the best mmo for mac in my opinion ;)

I also suggest a hunter, My first (and still my main) character  is a hunter ^^

it is a good class to start with

First off, I'd like to mention that all I've done is the 14-day trial, so I'm in no way an expert on LOTRO. I may not have played enough to be fully immersed in the game, but I felt like sharing my thoughts nonetheless.

As the title states, I don't think this game should have such a high rating. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against it (I've been a Tolkien fan ever since I learned to read, and felt that the game perfectly complemented the books and movies); however, I don't think LOTRO is anything special. I could spend all day listing the similarities it has with WoW, but that would get boring, and most of you probably noticed them anyway. Mostly, though, I just thought LOTRO quickly got boring. The graphics are great; they're what drew me in initially. But for anyone who has ever played WoW, or any of its seemingly infinite clones, everything about this game will seem very redundant. In my 14 days of playing, I found absolutely nothing new or innovative. There was definitely nothing worth another $15 a month.

So, does anyone out there agree with me? Feel free to share your thoughts.

No, I don't agree with you at all, I can also already tell you that I'm sure you did not play enough lotro to say something about it. I also started with a 14 day trail, and I enjoyed my time in LOTRO so I bought the box and subscribed for a while. The last time I logged in was a few weeks before the expansion (MOM) came out, I went back to WOW for WOTLK, but I plan to resubscribe for LOTRO in the next few weeks. Like I already said, I don't agree with you, LOTRO and WOW are totally different games (and I've played wow for 3 years and  a few months lotro so I know where I'm talking about). LOTRO looks different, play's different, at some points I found that lotro was even better than wow, the quests for example (however, after playing wotlk.. ^^ I really had a great time with questing in northrend, lotro and wow are now equal for me when it comes to quests). It's quite hard to explain :) . The community for example is the most friendly I've ever seen in an mmo. I also think lotro deserves the rating it got on this forum, annyway You should really play lotro for a while to see what i mean.

I also Think Tcos will become a ftp game with a cash shop or something.

And It seems that SOE is also gonna try to experiment with cashshopgames?

so maby we will see VG or so go ftp soon? ^^
