Have you ever read the (never-ending) Wheel of Time series? With so much info contained in the encyclopedia-sized volumes I always figured this could probably fly as an MMO. There are tons of large battles and political strife and factional goings on that it could be a fairly engrossing game.

The problem I found was it would probably not appeal to the hard-core fantasy types as there are no dwarves or elves, and you'd have to make the magic-using Asha'man a questable class like jedis were pre-NGE.

If they made a game about lord of the rings online I would play it

There is no other book or movie or whatever I would like to see a mmorpg of

those mmo' s would be really crappy...

for example:

- I like the books of harry potter, but if there is one idiot who makes a mmo of this i would just bash it to dead!

- I like the series of hornblower, but if there is someone who makes a mmo of it... (same story as above)

-I like south park... mmh an mmo about south park would be cool xD , I name myself kenny..

sorry but first of all, it's impossible to kill wow at this moment, it has just to many players. You need to understand some things before posting things like this.

all the new games that comes out take away players of wow, but even with darkfall wow will not be killed. This process will take manny years. Darkfall says that it offers fun stuff, well let's hope it's fun. AOC also said it would be a great game. Well it's nice but mmh not my thing. I tried it and didn't like it. there are lots of people who bought AOC and are now canceling their subscritions. This can also happen with Darkfall.. There came so manny games out since wow released and there were so manny games where people said that this would be the one who wil beat wow. And it still didnt happen. It's like waiting for the return of jezus... So I suggest you just wait, and see what happens.

Do not call me a wow fanboy or something... I am a fan of wow, I played the game for 3 years, and I had a great time!!! But I had to move on and I bought lotro, thats also a verry nice game! and I think I stay there for a while now.

And by the way. There is NO ONE waiting for the dead of world of warcraft. That's just a waist of time.

Wow you called me a noob. I am so insulted.  If you know the history of MMO's, many of them have had millions of subscribers and have died (Everquest, Ultima Online, SWG).

..... lol, I know the MMORPG history better then you I think otherwise you wouldn't say that...

I don't think EQ and UO ever reached a million subscribers, maby SWG did.

And those games aren't dead, you can still buy and play them. And they never had as much players as wow has now...

So will wow die? well maby some day.. but you'll have to wait for a loooooooooooooooooong time for that.

Well I finnaly did it, after 3 years of wow i found my next mmorpg ^^

I bought lotro yesterday

I play on snowbourne EU

and I'm impressed!!!

I'm not that far yet, but the graphics just blow me away! I've got a verry good computer and I play everything on highest setting, with no lagg at all!

I rolled a human champion, I haven't played that mush yet but it all looks verry nice! :-) I'm questing now. the controls are similar to wow so it's easy to get into ^^ and I just LOVE the lore!

I'll try to make a review of lotro soon!

Well some of you have already seen some posts of me about LOTRO. Well I decided to buy the game, I'm a bid bored of wow so I Want something new for casual gaming :) . Tomorrow I will do my last exam and I was thinking of buying lotro tomorrow! I have holiday now, so a lot of time to play ^^. But I will be a lot outside the country in july so, I will only be at home for about 1 week. So I was thinking of just starting a 14 days trail to get into the game so I can already play for a week and after that starting with paying my subscription. But now my question is: If I buy the box and install it, and I log in with a trail account, can I upgrade my trail account then with the code from the box? And will I lose my free month of gametime when I do so?

I would also recommand guild wars

just because it's a nice game without monthly fee

you just need to buy the box, and it has more quality then some p2p games

So I think Guild Wars will suit you the best ^^
