Which is the best race.
Perpetual Studios Version Discussion « Star Trek Online 11/27/06 9:05:33 PM
Q's race is the best! i mean they have the knowledge of the universe, and magic-like power on top of that. Although it is said humans might surpass them...

yea the community in Second Life is ok, but there are so many weirdos that program things that are just gross. I think that the game should've been controlled a little, or it would've been good if the players had ever built a theme, ugh theres really nothing to do in game, except program but that gets old, and its hard to learn too. THere should've been a tutorial

Yea, i believe it was cancelled on the Sci Fi channel, although i'm not really too sure, because i was watching the new episodes, and i thought i heard somewhere that they were going to have new ones even after they said it was cancelled, but if that info is wrong, Stargate: SG 1 got cancelled, but Atlantis is still going i'm pretty sure.

I wonder, is this game being made with Direct X 10 in mind? are these screens showing off the future of gaming graphics?

I think SWG is a good example of #1: "DON'T MAKE HUGE CHANGES TO YOUR GAME AFTER IT'S RELEASED." SOE changed SWG so many times in the first year, i mean the changes made sense at first, but then when they started messing with jedi and screwing with combat until it was a complete mess, thats where the line needs to be drawn. Obviously SOE knew they had screwed up everything, because then they changed the system to CU, luckily i dropped out before and was fortunate enough to play on pre-cu and not suffer.
To comment on Haskbrick's comment on jedi, i have to say the original plan was working pretty well, only the super hardcore gamers basically would have gotten it, and it was dangerous to be jedi, it was so easy to be killed. ...but then came the dreaded holocron...dun dun dun! It inflated in game economy, and changed the game direction from having fun to grinding thousands of monsters for that one holocron. SWG would've been sooo good had it not been for holocrons!! |

umm.. just wanted to say that 1: its a game, 2: ever stop and think that maybe the confederate flag and western architecture was based on something... hmm... lets think... what is one of the most famous empires that stretched all across Europe influencing countless civilazations... o yea ROME!! So obviously your going to see things that look western, because thats what western architecture is based on. So please don't talk about learning about Rome when you obviously have forgotten some of its power.dun dun dun
i'm assuming by western you mean western world as in Europe/U.S.A and stuff in comparison to eastern world such as Asia/Middle East. Although i realize that if you meant western America then i am completely wrong in my statement to you. So my apologies if this is true. |

World of Warcraft: Blizzard Banning Accounts
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/26/06 12:48:13 PM
i got banned for botting for 2 hours, so Blizzard is doing a good job obviously =) no hard feelings on my side since i knew it would happen, but i've heard a lot of complaints from friends of them losing their accounts accidentally, if anyone read the pc gamer article you would understand what i mean, and i think blizzard should allow you to argue your side.

Question 1: Why has nothing significant happened in the last 2 years of mmorpgs???
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/24/06 7:30:13 PM
WoW is a good game in all respects, it does alot of things, the only problem is that it doesn't expand on it. Its like me reading about Albert Einstein and Leonardo Davinci and writing a paper about the two of them, i mean big deal i did something new, i put together some stuff, but i didn't expand on anything, i.e. i didn't push the limits of humanity. lol ok got a little carried away, but hopefully you get my point.
Anyways, alot of games coming out in '07 are starting to take away WoW players, for me its Gods and Heroes or maybe Conan. ANd i know there are a trillion other games coming out, WoW is starting to go into its slump. dun dun dun.... Did i mention how Gods and Heroes will be about mythological Rome!!! and Conan will be like pre-historic!!!! I CAN"T WAIT!!! |

I remember when i first started on release my friend had been playing beta. So he and i worked together to killed creatures and stuff and lvl up, i think we did that for a few weeks then switched to crafters, he went armorsmith and i went into clothing. it was so much fun. On top of that we both started combat proffessions on Starsider, and just went around kicking butt. Nothing was better than sitting around fighting each other.
on the jedi thing, i think the holocrong craze was where jedi was getting out of hand. I never really wanted jedi, but my friend did so i would help him try to get holocrons, the funny thing was i ended up getting the holocron after kill like 300 guys, and he had been killing like 1000, i laughed about that for weeks. Anyways around that time where things were just going downhill, it was around a year when i saw the end, i quit. I really really hope that SWG 2 comes out someday, pre-cu style of course. |

SWG, the first year of it, was one of my most memorable and favorite gaming experiences ever, it was just soo player oriented, you could literally do everything. I odn't know what pre-cu means, but i'm assuming its the way they set up proffessions? if that is so then i completely agree that another pre-cu SWG game is needed, one where SOE can't screw it up with patches and glitches. ALL HAIL PLAYER CRAFTED CITIES!!, one thing i think the game should change a little is the amount of housing, i think that only on certain planets should there be housing, like they should make a new world just discovered and then players can turn it into a coruscant if they wanted. and then bio engineers could make animals for the planet!! lol that would be awsome, but probably not possible or probable to happen. i just didn't like how sometimes housing got a little out of hand, but i also loved having my own house!!! so i odn't know really how to fix that issue. Any ideas?
o and what does pre-cu mean? |

Question 1: Why has nothing significant happened in the last 2 years of mmorpgs???
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/24/06 9:10:59 AM
Yea, let me just add on to that by comparing WoW to SWG(the first year of SWG before the SOE started screwing it up). Does WoW powerful player crafted items? no, Blizzard has copmplete control over items because they're loot is usually better than anything crafted. In SWG you can have your guild hall, and declare war on one another to be able to fight anywhere. I don't see any guild halls in WoW, and only guilds of different alliances can fight in WoW very restrictive, i mean you can't even talk to the other alliance. In SWG every character made is unique because it was soo customizable, i must've spent an hour just trying to make myself look good. THen after you make your character you can customize further by buying cool clothing, and a hairstyle. In WOW there must be a hundred other people who look just like you, and you can't buy everyday clothing cause each proffession has their own armor which must be worn. In SWG crafting was soo much apart of the community, because everything you would need near the late game is player crafted. Some recourses were more valuable than others too. In WoW crafting is a secondary proffession to make some quick cash In SWG mounts and vehicles were tamed/made by players and anyone could ride around. In WoW players are forced to wait till lvl 40 to get their first mount that costs a ton of money. In SWG you had around 5 worlds to explore, all real-time. THere weren't instances, but they wouldn't have worked in a game like SWG. In WoW there are only two continents, and although they are large, they don't compare at all to the size of land in SWG. In SWG there was the unlockable Jedi proffession that took the most avid player montsh to get(yes SOE ruined this by including quests for jedi, holocrongs weren't so bad though but they should've been harder to get). In WoW there isn only a super mount that ONE player can get if they run through the door before everyone else. SWG also had 5 base proffessions, and then close to 15 elite proffessions that i can remember. Bounty Hunter and Tera Kasi Artist being the best. So bottom line is that WoW is completely controlled by Blizzard, for gamers who are used to this blizzard does a good job at keeping control, but for gamers like me who have played player molded games blizzard is too controlling. To me WoW doesn't add anything new to the MMORPG genre, its just improving on what has been around for awhile. Guild Wars added some unique content, no montly fee, and SWG was 'lightyears' ahead of its time if you compare it to Guild Wars. People say WoW is really balanced, but how hard is that to do when there isn't as much moddable crafting, and when there are only 8 different races, and 9 primary proffessions. |

Whats your favorite Trek Episode?
Perpetual Studios Version Discussion « Star Trek Online 11/23/06 6:56:25 PM
ok, Star Trek Next Generation is my favorite show, and my favorite episode has to be the one where Picard is given the chance to change his life by Q, "Tapestry". And then after Picard does that he learns how much worse his life would have been. I also liked the episodes where Picard is tortured by the Cardassians, "Chain of Command". ALso all the episodes that take an in depth look into the human phsyche, there are soooooo many!?!?!?!?!1!!!!!!
