(Pub) How Long did it take the first WoW clone to release after WoW's release date?

Originally posted by SuprGamerX Not sure what your talking about. EQ had over 500k subs when computer gaming wasn't even in the normal lexicon of language. In fact I would say it was more successful than WoW. WoW is now played by tons of 12-15 years olds with the parents and such. EQ never had that because the entry (a computer with a 3D video card) was such a high entry. Here we are 13 years after EQ launched and still there are over 3000 items that STILL have not been discovered in the game. The WoW designers have publicly admitted their inspiration for WoW....its EQ. And you are right, 5% would not have played EQ because there is no one left over 15 in that game. WoW is already not WoW. The game is in serious decline no matter how you spin it. I don't know anyone left that plays it anymore in the guilds I know. But I am sure you will spout off about chinese subs creating an inflated 50 million subs it has statement... |

So sad really. Disheartning that Twylight Song is now dead. We tried that mmorpg.com guild (After Hours) a few years ago back (damn has it really been 3 years this May!!) and just couldn't keep the people. SOE is always promising content patches and new things but nothing materializes. The game will be dead until it goes F2P now. |

Returning since when? 2008...
Game needs F2P badly. |

Mmmmm.I have given SOE more money than you can think of. The bottom line is that these servers have been up for over 4 years and SOE has done nothing to them. The Classic servers are great. Old World and Kunark only. Tons of people playing and having fun again. I am not sure how you think I am ripping them off since I did BUY my EQ game and legally own it. I don't see why I should have to keep paying them since I already paid my sub fee for 5 years (which I happily did). |

Google Project 1999. Old world and Kunark only. Usually 500-800 people playing at any given time. Tons of fun... |

If you really look at some real benchmarks for games you will notice there isn't that much of a difference. The Intel SB's are faster right now and that is a fact. When Piledriver and IB come out though...who knows. |

Looks very good. Throw a SSD on there though if you can afford it. |

The unofficial review of SWTOR: a missed opportunity

Totally agree. Going to keep playing for a bit longer but it didn't hook me. My biggest complain is the horrid auction house. OMFG!! |

Give us a budget and let us know if it absolutely needs to be a laptop or if a desktop is an option. |

The lack of customizable UI in this game is my biggest gripe with it. Inexcusable for 100+ million game.. |

Seems like the game has peaked on XFire
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/29/11 7:05:43 PM
I wouldn't trust anything in xfire anymore. I use it now just to track my hours in games recently release. I used to have like 20 poeple I knew and friended. I sitll play MMO's with them but I can't get them to log in xfire anymore. |

People rolling on already full servers? BAD idea.

The amount of people running around with me is crazy. I didn't think I was going to like this game much. It is starting to seriously grow on me. |

I just love reading all the "I assume" and "I would think.." stuff. In life dont' assume anything without reading. |

I just shut that comp down but I will try to take a screenshot tomorrow and post it. Also, the game downloaded in 5.3GB from the patcher. I thought it was the trial only so I logged into my other characters. Every zone loaded fine. I thought VG was like 17 GB? |

Most interesting thing tonight. Newly created computer: Go to download VG off of SOE's site. It installs a VG icon that I have never seen before. Since 2007 its always been a black icon with some type of shield. Now on the new computer it installs a set of swords. The patcher looks like one I have never seen before either. Its a blue screen patcher which I've never seen before either. Anyone else? |

You can beef up security all you want but it won't stop anyone who is determined. Have you seen the epic hacking going on lately with accounts? Sony is hardly alone. |
