I think that MMOs and Metal music gives very similar feeling about different worlds. I also noticed that more "hardocre" the game is more hardcode Metal fans are there. I listen very hard music (Death/Black/Gothic) and typically my chars are named on some favorite band. I never meet a someome to speek t? me about them in WoW, but that happens everyday in MO (and also in UO and DF when I played them). I'm really surprised how much extreme metal fans are there in MO. |

Also Darkfall do not have instances at all. If you are talking about dungeons you just get teleported to it but you still meet peoples that has entered that dungeon. |

That video is just one example how great MO is! Only they have to fix the desync issue! |

Cant agree with that. In DF the only thing you can really do is to Kill, in MO it is supposed to be much different. Killing is just part of the game as material extraction, crafting, exploring, trading etc. So named crafting and PvE in DF are just time sinks. They have nothing with trading and economy in general. So what is the purpose to have PvE and crafting in PvP game if they are used only to slow your PvP action? |

Originally posted by Kyleran Why on earth are you playing single player games when there's MMORPG's to be played? I dropped single player games 8 years ago once I found this genre, just not fun anymore if there aren't other people to interact with. They assume more folks are like me than you, especially in their demographic market.
I also cannot understand how peoples play single player games once they touched MMO. I can understand a multiplayer but single player games looks so dead after a while... |

This is the main concept of theme park MMOs, and it looks that is exactly what OP was outgrow. While it is still valid mechanics for sandbox games, the main concept there is to find the best way to progress the char for you and find proper persons to cooperate with. |

I think there are 3 main reasons to not have so much enemies compared to others: 1. Its very different compared to other MMOs that make it unique. 2. It have great balance between hardcore and casual game play that can match both play styles. 3. Its a real MMO. |

General: How Soon Until Everything is an MMO?

Never. Even now most of MMOs are just multiplayer online games. |

Isnt WoW easy enough already? |

I think EvE skill system is brilliant as it: 1. No need to grind skills. You can just enjoy the game instead of grind for skills. 2. Instead of many alts you has multiple specs on one char. You just have to go in station and use your other ship. 3. Veterans do not have much benefit than few months old player as the only thing they have more than you is more specs so the just can drive more various ships and use various equipment. Few months are enough to cap skills for small or medium ship while you have mastered them and become skill full enough to drive and minimize the risk to loose your bigger one. 4. In general EvE is MMO with general M where you do not need to catch up others but just need to find you place in that world. |

The mysterious creature called "Endgame"
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/25/10 5:16:17 AM
"Endgame" has only meaning in games where players are strictly separated by time invested in the game. Such game play schema rely on the player feeling that he has achieved something. Just because that, such games typically have "carrot on stick" game play as it have to give ? new goals when the player achieve the old goals. For me MMOs with so named endgame content are very boring and repeatative. |

Just because your view of what a "MMO" is, is not the same as what Global Agenda's is, does not mean it is not a MMO. You even state that the only time you see a mass of people is when your in a city....Well guess what, that makes it a MMO Period. Hell, Farmville on Facebook is considered a MMO because many people play online together and can meet up in some stupid town. Sorry bro, its a MMO, even if it isnt a type of MMO you wish it was.
Sorry to say it but Guildwars have very similar system and they officially named it cooperative but not massive. In top of that you do not pay monthly subscription... Nothing against Global Agenda but its like name Tomb Rider a shooter game! |
