No-one actually gives a rats-ass what forumites think in the greater scheme of things, people who put stock in forum opinions do so at their peril. The "mmo community" is NOT limited to forumites, maybe 10-20% actually read/post on forums, most just enjoy a game for what it is. Case in point, Warcraft. Imagine if 8 million people actually posted on a forum :) |

So what is it you wanna know about Euro Beta...it exists....people are in it...etc etc. thats all people can tell you.
Euro beta is being run at exactly the same time as US beta, just because you didn't get in doesn't mean it's not running. |

Skaven and Slann. |

Literally hundreds!! It's a fantasy. 20 classes and 6 races is plenty for a start. Looks like you'll never be buying this game and, for the reasons you state, thats just a shame. |

If EU is behind US there will be a huge uproar. The main problem with DAoC was we were always behind the US, when they had all the cool new stuff, we were 2-3 months behind and it sucked. GOA have promised their faithful long-suffereing customers there will be synergy this time, i only hope the release dates are the same and they stay true to their word. |

Why o why did they have to take out Blackguard!
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/13/08 5:37:46 AM
The class either wasn't working as they wanted or couldn't easily be balanced without more work. This may not be the end of the Blackguard, it is still entirely possible they will fix the class and get it in the game, just not for release.

Thanks for posting this. I for one support them in their decisions and applaud them for their honesty and clarity. Roll on release |

Talk about over-reacting. The 4 temporarily removed classes cannot be made to function as the devs want without a serious amount of work, this means either another release delay is necessary, or they could release the game with broken classes OR they could suspend what doesn't work and release a game with 20 classes that do work and a capital city for each faction. Want another SWG with half the classes broken at release? Want another AoC with loads of broken content at release? Perhaps another Vanguard? Mythic know what they are doing, they are being very open about why these classes and some of the capitals have been have been dropped from release (to be added at a later date). |

While it is only my opinion, it is as valid as anyones opinion, hence a stupid opinion, ipso facto :) |

Or this one: http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/9931/aocnc9.jpg In which he told two guilds they don't want them fighting each other.
Edited and impossible to know what else was said and so the context is lost. |

Alright man, think about it. Right now there's no completely sandbox PvP MMO in the market and I don't know of any that are being developed. Unless you're thinking of something like Shadowbane (I may be thinking of the wrong game or I may have the wrong ideas about that game... Haven't seen/heard anything on it in years). Anyways, if that's the game you want the complain to some developers instead of sitting around MMO threads trolling becuase your every fantasy of a game hasn't come to fruition... Or hell, go out and make the damn game you want. As for your afore mentioned 6 points that you'd like in an MMO, they won't work (for reasons others have mentioned). Or at least they won't work in a way that's enjoyable. And if a game isn't enjoyable, that defeats the purpose of the game.
Probably referring to Darkfall? |

You are right in what you say, but i did say FUNDIMENTAL, the basic races, looks etc. |

WoW was an average mmorpg with zero innovation doing what every other fantasy mmo before and after it has done and thats taking the existing concepts and improving on them, the only difference is it was slightly cuter and brilliantly marketted. Thats the success of WoW. Can they emulate the marketting success? Hmm, i wonder, can EA market a game? Oh, wait, they are the best in the business....so maybe. It's also been said, only about a thousand times, that Warcraft is a fundimental rip-off of Warhammer and that Warhammer is a fundimental rip-off of Tolkien and Tolkien is a rip-off of Grimms etc...meh. Heard it all before and no doubt we'll hear it all again. |

Players did not leave DAoC en-masse because of GOA, thats simply not true, they left when ToA/NF came out and then dwindled from that point on both EU and US. Try reading up on the subject, a lot has changed recently, most of us in the EU are willing to give GOA another go knowing what we now know. If they screw it up again you can bet it'll be their last chance as it won't be Mythic on their asses, it'll be EA. |

Originally posted by JustBe Not even going to get into UO EQ and EQ2, i simply don't have the time. DAoC has customisable UI. You can't really comment if you only played it for 10 minutes. Planetside isnt an mmorpg. SWG, there were only a handful of Jedi in 2003, first player to unlock was in November 2003. The dumbing down began in 2004 and the CU was 2005. EvE is all about player-made content, the missions are simply there for players to have something to do when their corp aren't doing something. It's not the main content of the game, not even close. If you haven't tried the pvp, played in a crop or in low-sec, you really haven't experienced any of what the game has to offer. Your obviously someone with little patience who likes instant gratification and im afraid there is nothing really in the list of upcoming games that you'll like. However, im guessing AoC might be right up your alley :) |
