I haven't read everything but he seems to like calling people autistic as an insult, I have an autistic family member and would never give this guy a penny of my money, he is an arse.

This game will be an acquired taste for sure, not just because of the death mechanics. I have been playing the beta today and it looks very dated, the character movement is horrible and the animations are very poor, the quest dialog is drier than the sahara. Hopefully there is a LONG closed beta phase before this game is out. |

Consistency and honesty in MMORPG.COM ?

It does suck you can't mention it when the game it emulates doesn't even exist anymore, I am sure there is a lawyer somewhere that can tell us why!

This will get deleted too, but yeah I got a warning for it too, shocked me to the core and now I can't function in day to day life.

Part of the argument here is "why pay more for a game that really offers nothing to justify the higher price?" In the UK an MMO sub will cost me £8.99, for TSW it will cost me £11.49. I can afford the extra £2.50, but I am not going to pay it. I bought the box game, played for a month and enjoyed it, but with a subscription higher than any other game I won't pay the extra, especially since this game also has a cash shop. TSW offers nothing to justify it costing more than any other MMO, so as a matter of principle I will not pay the extra. Most people can easily afford the extra but if we all just accept what is being shoved down our throats then it will become the norm. If this game had been priced at £8.99 a month, I probably would have subscribed and I wouldn't have ended up back in WoW to get my MMO fix each week. |

I play but only 2-5 hours a week currently.

In my opinion GW2 would have been a great game to just do away with traditional levels, when I look at the map I see zones listed with level ranges on them. When I go back to them they are still pretty easy even though I am scaled down because I have better armor, traits and more abilities. I really wish they had just not included levels, so when I go back to an older zone its still easy ish, I have still become more powerful through acquiring abilities, traits and armor but when I look at the map I don't see an arbitrary number, when I enter the zone I don't see my level get scaled back. Current High level zones would still be the same they just wouldn't have a number on it, someone walks in and gets hammered by the mobs they know they need more abilities, better armor and more traits, come back later. It just strikes me as odd, everything I do while not max level in GW2 I am being scaled up or down to take part in, why not just be done with this number next to my name? I know this doesn't really answer the OP but I think it would help the world feel a bit more alive, no one looks at the map and sees number plonked on zones, no one is downgraded when going back to a zone, if you dont get downgraded you don't feel as much like you are doing something that's beneath you. |

Great for PVPers, not much point for others (so far)

I think they have extended alpha now, on the website when you buy the game it says alpha access now, there is no mention of beta starting. |

Sounds to me like the game world is not big enough to seem like an end of world scenario currently. If you overpopulate a game like this it becomes a deathmatch and nothing else. At least in DayZ I can pretty easily avoid other players for hours on end if I want to. |

I am still playing the game but more sporadically than I have ever played any MMO ever. I played for 12 hours over 2 days a couple of weeks ago, last week I played 2 hours, this weekend I played half an hour. Tonight I plan to play for 3 hours or so with a friend. I keep making new characters, I can't decide anything, but I don't feel rushed and I don't feel the need to catch up with anyone either, I am just playing the game when I feel like it and generally messing around. Probably not the type of customer Anet wanted since I won't buy anything in the shop thing but I can tell I will be playing in some manner for a long time to come, bored with some other game? play GW2 for a bit, nothing on TV and no money? play GW2 for a bit. It fills a void pretty nicely. My guild is still active with people playing every day for 4 + hours so I would imagine that the population on our server is pretty similar to many others, everything seems fine and dandy. |

When will this unnecessary game bashing stop?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/29/12 9:30:21 AM
If people couldn't discuss things that they are not an expert in then life would be pretty boring. Every conversation I would have would be about IT Infrastructure and OS Image deployment/creation in a medium and large scale business environment. FUCK, kill me now.
Sure there are people around that take things to the extreme and just live for winding up others, plenty of these people exist in real life as well as on the internet, you just have to learn how to deal with them and avoid them if necessary. |

The e-mail clearly states that the beta will begin on the 29th and that people will be invited in waves. They probably won't let many people in the first wave, just be patient and if you get a code, GREAT, if not then just keep waiting. |
