Deception and fraud...based off the title alone? Nobody likes DRM...but lets not get all batshit crazy and imply that all the warnings in every aricle, all the descriptions on any retailer's advratisieng, all over the the games box cover etc, did not give ample warning about being always online.

Imagine tomorrow you buy a car, say a GM. And in one year, GM goes bankrupt, and because of that you can never drive your car anymore because it's function is online bound to the GM servers. I suppose you would by all right be pissed. People buy SimCity because of the NAME, because of the HISTORY. They assume a game of the same name is the same. That's why Ultima Online was named "ONLINE" and not just "Ultima", so to assure you don't deceive fans of the single player series. It's deception and I am damn sure they knew a lot would but SimCity because of the predecessors and not read some small printed stuff on the backside of the box.

Proof: apparently the masses of customers were surprised and outraged and returned the game, because of the fraud implied in the title. Otherwise we would not HAVE the shitstorm we witness.

So I am taking Blizzard to court now because World Of Warcraft does not have online in the title and it requires and always on connection.

One of the requirements to run Sim City is an always on Internet connection, if you can't supply this then you do not meet the minimum requirements to run the game and should not buy it.

I was annoyed when other games I used to play got shut down, but these things happen, it's in the terms an conditions you agree to when you play the game.

Some systems may work better than others in certain environments but there is never one that will ALWAYS be the best for all environments. What happens to some of us after playing one way for so long is that we get bored and start to seek a change. If we try something new, we may like it and stick with it (til we get bored again), keep searching, or go back to what we know. 

So, for me it's not about coming up with something better but creating something different to give players a NEW experience.

Here's some ideas:

Combine tank/dps roles. Give each class a taunt or threat type attack to keep target focused on them. If you're facing a boss that uses magic for dmg you could have a spell casting class(with their increased magic defences) as a tank. Or, Melee/casting classes alternate if a boss has both abilities)

You could keep healers. Or, have each class have some type of self heal abilities.

You could create a class whose sole responsibility is to control ads. You could create a whole array of control methods so that the ads are slowed down or stopped so a party can deal with them before they are overwhelmed. They may drop them into a hole in the ground, slowing them til they climb out, levitate them for a periood of time, freeze them in place, transport them to the other side of the cavern etc etc.

Some instances/dungeons may require 3 crowd control guys for example, others one or even none. Could make for some exciting new dynamics.

It's not hard to create a new system but the trick will be to have it balance and work well.

None of that is new, it's all been in WoW at some point. They have different bosses that need tanked by different people, they have bosses that require add control and management, they have bosses where you have to self heal.

I actually think WoW raids ave plenty variety in the machanics over the years just most people either don't see it when it's relevant or dismiss everything with tanks dps and healers as basic tank and spank.

I think everything you described is still a trinity too, currently games have a hard enough time just getting tanks and healers to play those roles trying to get people to play a constant control class is difficult.

I actually like the streaming features and I have tried streaming on my PC but it is chronic. Like large parts of the UK my internet connection is not up to streaming.

I think I have about average connection quality, I get 16mb down and 0.8mb UP, that up speed is chronic. If I stream from my PC at anything above 480p the network slows to a crawl.

I tried OnLive last year too and while some games were playable, they were blurry and the delay from button presses was fairly obvious.

If you live somewhere like Sweden then all these new streaming tools will be awesome but for those of us with only one connection option and a terrible infrastructure in general these new things will be brutal and won't work correctly, people that have no understanding of how it's supposed to work will just blame the consoles and I think that is dangerous for Sony.

Back in vanilla WoW you could carry people that done nothing in a raid pretty easily, you still can in the LFR level of raids but if you tried just tagging along pretending in any content from the burning crusade onwards you would be found out pretty swiftly.

I don't know what people see in this Final Fantasy game, it just looks like another MMO in a sea of mediocre MMOs.

Can anyone sell me on it? what does it do different apart from being text heavy and made in Japan.

I have been off WoW since Cataclysm, BUT I did go back during cataclysm to kill deathwing which took a couple of weeks.

I seem to go back at the expansion release and level my character but when I hit essentially the same endgame again I just can't be bothered with it any more, I have made that many characters over the years that levelling from the start doesn't even appeal.

I could stick it out if my old guild existed but everyone went there seperate ways and it's hard to recreate that once it's gone.

TERA and Aion look like stellar games compared to the WarZ, they are not even comparable. If you can't see the difference in standards between Aion and WarZ then there is no hope for you.

And at least War Z doesn't have the horribly laggy hit detection and completely harmless zombies of Day Z.  Shot a guy in the head?  Well enjoy waiting 2 seconds to actually see the bullet impact.  Being chased by 100 zombies?  Just zig zag and jump over an obstacle.

Let's face it.  Both War Z and Day Z are complete crap, but people have some sort of special attachment to Day Z that makes them think it is superior "just because".

We can hope that the Day Z standalone is good, but as of now NEITHER of these are worth playing.

The difference between the two though is DayZ is a mod developed by one man and now a community that is entirely free to people that own ARMA.

The WarZ is a game that has been developed by a team of people and sold as a product that people have to pay for.

I think the review suits the game perfectly.

Have any of the recent triple A games been as bad as WarZ? NO, not even close that's why other bad games don't get such low scores. Most games don't release to just take advantage of their users in any way possible, the devs don't call people faggots in public and most games will employ someone in PR.

The gamepad controls are FOR the PS3 version... the mouse and keyboard controls are already solid. Why would they suck just because the game has gamepad support? O_o

Yes it is. The Keyboard and Mouse UI is designed like most Modern day MMOs. Think Aion, WoW or SWTOR.

This game is also available on PS3 which is why there is a Gamepad UI as well. The redesigned gamepad UI blows 1.0's UI out of the water. You can relax in knowing gaming keyboards and mice will be supported in 2.0

Fantastic! I remember playing FFXI on my PC and I didnt like that at all, but just from watching that video I can tell the UI has came a long way, if I had a wireless controller for the PC i'd probably even consider using it after watching that video.

If you could list what parts you have now, which parts you have already bought, and your budget for remaining parts that would help.

If you can, try to get a windows 7 64 bit.

I found the GX60 for £999 here and it looked like a great deal as it also had a 64GB SSD in it, however once I started reading reviews of the processor I started to wonder if the slightly lower price was actually worth it?

It seems to perform worse than my sandybridge i7 from early 2011.
