 Star wars has a massive following that will not even consider trading in a good sci-fi setting for a fantasy one. Also GW2 is highly instanced and is unlike a traditional MMO. I will buy it for sure, but it will not be my go to game. I am not knocking it at all. I actually think it looks amazing. Plus Bioware is making SWTOR so it will propably be well worth the $15 a month.

 

Good to hear that the demo was in such good shape. Hopefully we get a release date soon. I can't wait.

 

I just want to point out that youre wrong. GW2 is not highly instanced, and in fact wili not be like the old GW, and will now be more like a traditional MMO. I think you are confusing the old with the new. Yeah i was thinking the same thing. The game play, and the way the game was made from the screen shots and the videos ive seen reminds me alot of Tabula Rasa. But im still going to try it out in hopes for a good game.

They didnt go into much detail about the caracter customization. I hope there is a bit more to it than just picking a set face that everyone will have. There is alot to this game and i have high hopes for it. i hope im not let down,

Just because you see brief glimpses of such on very old videos means absolutely nothing and anyone can make up a bogus screenshot with the tools available on the market today.  Pretty obvious you know absolutely zip about game software development.   To actually get such working right requires a trememdous amount of work and they just don't have the staff to do it.
 

They will be lucky to ship the game with the city building options working.

Ok i had to step in and say something about this post.... They show waaay more than "brief glimpses" of the ships in the new video. They show a good 5 min of footage of ships going to war. You see players controlling the ships. You see players jumping from one ship to the other, killing off the other players, and then taking over there ship. You see team members on the cannons firing at other ship, and you even see the other ships sink as they loose the fight. All this footage is on the NEW video that was posted on the 2nd of this month. So you might want to take a second look at that video, if you've seen it at all...

Wow, looking good guys! The world is looking great so far. lets just hope when its all done it has a really feel to it. like sounds of different kinds of machines and mechanical signs as you walk by them, Sounds of people as you enter or go by social areas, and weather changes. Maybe even have a good amount of objects intractable. Put all these things together and its more realistic, and less like youre walking in a painting. Ive seen many times where the worlds looks great but get dull, and boring do to the lack of things in them. It looks like there putting a lot into this game so im not too worried.

About the outfits, "WOW" the armor youll be wearing to fight in looks great, very unique! Plus i saw that you guys are not just adding armor, but you also have common clothes! i hope that was a sketch for clothes players will be able to play. When ever i want to take a break from fighting its nice to through on some normal clothes and sit back and relax with my friends. The tattoos i saw was also a big plus. The more options in Character creation the better i say. Thats one of the things that made CoV/CoH so fun.

All in all this game is turning out great visually. I have big hopes for this game, lets just hope the game play is just as good =)

yeah this game is awesome you wont be disappointed. Looks like they make the lighting logos power better. Very nice!

Also, it looks like they added better night time to the game. Very nice.

Ok... This guy... Ozmodan may have 'been in the business too long to believe that." as he says, but the guy OBVIOUSLY hasn't been in the business long enough to learn not  to talk about something that he know's nothing about.  To be clear on the matter, here's what I am saying, I would be VERY surprised if he has been in the beta during the last 2 to 4 weeks.  I have, and I can say this game (as far as Beta's go mind you,) is smooth.  It runs great - there arn't many crashes reported,  the game play is fun, Seriously, this game is runnig great. 

 

 

Just becuase they want to add a months worth of polish to it, doesn't mean that it's 'Failing Criticly'  The post says they want to test 'later game' content, and Balancing, and a tweak to the crafting system.. C'mon, think back mr. "I've been in the industry a long ole' time,"  Many of the games that you have 'been around' went gold with out even a thought to 'late - end game' content.  And Crafting Systems... don't even get me started - some games go to press with the promis of 'a major patch to introduce crafting in the near future' or no plans at all for crafing.

I really don't see this as a 'gloom and doom' move by these guys, I take em at their word, they are making the game Great.  Much like Blizzard back in the Diablo / Diablo 2 days - it's done when it's done.

Add to that mr. 'Industry man' the fact that they even MADE this move of pushing it back - Holy Cow! in this day and age with Retialers actualy giving up shelf space to pre-order boxes and the new attention that corporate is giving to meeting deadlines - that was one bold move!  Especialy since in my estimation, had this been one of SOE's game there is no way that they wouldn't have had it out the door already,  happiliy taking in 15$ a month from Subscribers paying to Beta test the game.

anyway - this rant sounds rather hostile twards the OP I'm quoting... sorry about that... I really don't feel hostile, I think I'm just tired and that's how it came out.
