I can see it last as long as Lineage 2 and Final Fantasy XI, but I do not see how it is going to compete with other games such as Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, (they may not be MMO but they do have a large gamer base), Guild Wars 2, and the even better looking, Blade and Soul.

I knew eve would be like wow.

I remember Everquest had a interesting system of looting.

It had No-Drop Items (Items that were Soul-Bound or can't be drop or traded) which made them epic.

I think Conan should copy this system. Then Pvp can be probably epic.

I LOL

Anyhow, I still say that Perfect World is WoW, but in the Asian Market.

Yep maybe thats why its called the "chinese WoW". Its just that I myselve love tha combination of WoW, Lineage 2 and a bit of FFXI. And when I came online into this game I suddenly had the -> I want to play more and more and more feeling... I havent had this in a long time. I did quests to extend my bags to get better equipment... I even began gathering some ressources from the rocks and trees etc.(well I didnt know what I was harvesting *lol*) ! All I got was some help of an english speaking chinese player. But the game simply feels very solid and thats one of the big problem in many modern MMORPGs games today... and why games like vanguard etc. with good innovations and a good concept usually have a hard time to survive...
For me PW is the first game that can reach a big fun factor for me again. Its has a nice Pvp/GvG and Faction based PvP (much more complex than in WoW - which is a big plus for me). You also advance mostly via quests, there is plenty of customisation and crafting, city building etc.! Also you totally feel the "love to the details" . So no, for me this game has much more over WoW, but surely this is my everyones personal taste... but lets see how it works out if it reaches the western market :) As their main goal is to be the globally market leader with this game I am really curious on how their marketing works...
Kind regards,
LD

Know of any guide to register? I like to steal and review some ideas for my Game.

Well who knows. After K2Network took on "Sword of the New World", what do you suppose?

Assuming at the graphic, which looks similar to Wow...
I can only think of it being a duplication of WoW,
hence Wow is a combination of many other Mmo.

Some MMO from China surpassing the Content of WoW seems like a Big Dream.

I have to say, Lineage 2 is probably Eye Candy of the MMO. They probably set the bar for graphics.

WoW set the Bar for Content and PvE capabilities.

Wtf is FFXI? I never touch it, never play it. So why combine that?

GuildWars set the motion for True PvP Competition.

This game seems overrated.

That is understandable. So Charisma or Vanity can reflects the player look. Can I get any other player's input on this?

I like to add that my decay system is mainly on the activities you do. Part of it may be item base, other parts would be activities.

I am developing a game in concept At the moment, I am looking at the concepts for character's attribute and status.

Status
Hp - Health Point
Mp - Mana Points
Sp - ?

Attributes
Str - Strenght
Sta - Stamina
Agi - Agility
Dex - Dexterity
Int - Intelligence
Wis - Wisdom

I was wondering if I am missing anything special, like Charisma or Luck. Though, I was thinking of making those special attribute as optional attributes compare to the main attributes.

Also, the attribute concept revolves on a value and decay system.

For instance, you lift weight to increase your strength.
You run to increase your stamina.

If you stop doing some of the increasing activities, your attributes starts to decay over time.

So rather than having a Leveling system, where you gain status points to input to your attributes, I have made this Decay System where people can value what they want to be.

Sorry for my grammar in advance :]

Just wait for Spores :P
Though, it might not be similar, hopefully we can change some of the gameplay in spores.

It should be a movie instead of a Game?

Players who don't want to work for something....... You know, that might be me. I play games to have fun. I work to make money. I do not confuse my MMOs with work.
The day I feel like I'm "working" in a game is the day I quit.

'Nuff said.

QFTW for the Working.

Everquest

Why? Because back then, it was Chaos. Now its all gay. I am serious.

In a PVP server, if you killed someone, you can steal their 10,000 plat item, log and be happy for the day.

Or, someone could of jacked your ass up and you were screwed over like a mofo.

That what FEAR FACTOR was all about.

Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiink!!!

I need links to verify things, I hate google! xD

Excuse me, I wasn't in the right mind at the time.

Unreal Engine and Quest3d
Quest3D can really make some nice enviroments.
Googling them shouldn't be a problem.

Of course, a player controlled enviroment is what we most aim for. I have though of this before hand when I was reading a few topics in here. Though, I didn't get the chance to think of any systems for them yet.

Today I present the very idea of today's quest system in most RPGs and how they can evolve, and how you can evolve it.

Looking at WoW, Lineage 2, Guild-Wars, and Everquest, I have found similiar or maybe, perhaps, exact systems they are using.

The first and foremost is "Getting the Quest".
Which by means, you will have to speak with an NPC to acquire the quest.
After that you learn the Goal, Chores and Task of the Quest.
The last part is receiving Reward.

So the System so far:
-Get Quest.
-Do Quest.
-Get Reward.

I find this repetitive, does anyone agree?

So to bring something new, I wanted to add more.

Instead of doing a quest, I want to make it as a known task.
This task allows you to choose whether to do the task or not.
When the task is done, you receive a result.

System:
-Known Task
-Do Task
-Results

And to add something new, we will add, "Riddling", which makes things more fun in solving.

Now they are similiar but I have divided that they are in differnt levels.

For example of the first system.

Talk to NPC
NPC has Problem with Wolves
You kill this Many Wolves
You Recieve 10 gold from NPC

My Example of my system
Talk to NPC
Npc reveals problem of Wolves
Choices:
-1-Befriend Wolves
-1-You get a Pet
-1-Npc Hates you

-2-Kill Wolves.
-2-Npc Loves you.
-2-Npc Rewards you.

-3-Kill NPC
-3-Kill Wolves
-3-Result: Intimidate Enviroment

-4-Others

-5-Leave it alone

So basicly, the quest system of today should evolves to results instead of the common reward. Indirectly, you wouldn't know that you are doing a quest.

Also, for the riddling part, it would be like a guessing game.

Imagine you were speaking to a person who wanted something, who describes its contents to you.
However, the person has poor communication skills.

"Its green and its like a hospital, and it has many babies in it!"
Offer a 'Green house with Plants'
"No thats not it"
Offer a Watermellon
"Yes thats it!"

and so forth.

What do you guys think?
