We should fear Lucas Arts and what they might do to TOR..ala SWG
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 6/26/11 8:45:16 AM
I'm not sure why most people on this forum doen't understand a business decision. You'd do the same, I would do the same as they're doing with the game. A new game is coming, and old game that suddenly is getting a lot of love on here is going away. Funny how popular something becomes when people find out it's being shut down. Amidst all the posts on here that are mostly nothing but speculation why can't people just accept it's a good business decison. I think all that's missing on this thread now is the obligatory post that contains "this is why I'm glad SOE got hacked" to make it complete. |

If Lucas Arts was the main culprit for SWG shutting down...
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/25/11 8:46:04 PM
It's business. If a game was no longer profitable to go forward you'd pull the plug on it too. Not sure why that seems so foreign to people. If you don't want to ever be dissapointed that a game shuts down don't play MMO's. |

Dealbreaker for me, if the game absolutely sucks ass. |

Is this illegal ? Pay to play mmo model

Let me guess OP, if you go to see a sporting event live and your team loses you demand your money back because they didn't provide that winning experience you expected? |

General: Chinese Prison Guards Using Inmates to Farm Gold
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/26/11 4:00:19 PM
I wonder if anyone ever gets shanked in the WoW room like they do in the yard? Do you think the factions group up like people in prison usually do by ethnicity? |

MMO's have gone to crap since WoW came out.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/26/11 8:32:07 AM
Yes I think the 1000 other posts like this show that people agree. Probably the more silly notion I see is that it's WoW's fault that no other really good MMO's have been released. Hopefully something new and wonderful will come. I have a few in mind but I'm not the kind of person that goes on about what game coming is going to rule all. How mant times has that been said in the last few years......you never really know til it actually hits. Just my opinion of course. |

D&D: one of the culprits why MMOs are so bad
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/26/11 7:44:22 AM
I respect the OP's opinion but to me say D&D is to blame is the same as saying WoW is to blame for fairly lame MMO's coming out recently. The only thing holding things back are the developers themselves. |

World of Warcraft: Is Blizzard Losing Its Community?
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/25/11 10:23:06 PM
Originally posted by Zzad You're post is so ominous, Blizzard is now officially scared. Yes games don't last forever. They will lose subscribers, it's inevitable. They lost me several months back, got bored. IMO though most WoW players won't even know the games you listed exist, the people that leave will go back to console games or wherever they came from. |

Originally posted by MMOExposed You're right, it's only a so called success, I heard they haven't made a dime from the game...... Most of what you said was silly but this part was by far the funniest. |

I tried the rift trial as well, first the weekend one then the 7 day one. It just didn't suck me in as I had hoped. I applaud the polish and it was a good looking game. For me though IMO it was too similar to the game I had recently quit. I was hoping the soul system would be as wide open as it seemed to be but from researching and looking at the trees it seems like other games there is the "optimal" way to spec and you really don't have the freedom I had hoped. I do see why people like it but it seemed to close to what I was trying to get away from. I probably would have played it otherwise. |

The inaccuracy of the word "themepark", and why we ought to retire it

I do find the community friendly in LoTRO, I do however have trouble getting groups in the lower levels. Never have much luck putting one together and basically only see people shouting for high level groups. Wish it was easier to get a low level dungeon group. If anyone has any tips I'm all ears. |

I tried and did enjoy Vanguard but found the population and support to be lacking too much to continue. SOE is definitely good at keeping dead games up and running for the few hardcore who won't let go. I played another one of their games for a while and they stopped after 1 expac and basically stopped updating it (EQOA) that game like VG has the few faithful who etll you it's the greatest game ever and give it a chance. "if there are no updates create your own fun" Yeah that's why I pay a sub. Let it go people, it had it's shot, sadly it didn't pan out. |

Until I can buy an overpriced churro in game no MMO is a themepark to me. |

It seems that WoW peeked at 11.4 million players and not growing?
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 5/22/11 10:31:08 PM
I quit a few months back, was bored and needed a break. Wasn't my first break. I have no idea if I'll go back.Don't see a reason to at the moment. That being said i'm not sitting around hoping it will die, it really won't make my day any better or worse which sadly doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of people on this site. WoW is not holding back the genre, i'm not sure why folks insist when WoW goes away there will be some huge leap forward. WoW is a game apparently a lot of folks play. Why does that bother so many people? No one's stopping the next great game from coming out. |

Will you play Guild Wars 2 if the last profession is not mesmer?

No, no, 1000 times no! OK, I'll play. This poll is pretty silly IMO. |

A small dip in WoW subscriber numbers
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 5/10/11 10:34:37 PM
Games age and people move on for a variety of reasons. The obsession with WoW's numbers is hilarious. The fact they've held so many this long is incredible. I too have quit WoW but I don't hate it like so many do and don't sit around praying for it's demise. People love to hate anything big and successful and blame it for all the shortcomings of the MMO industry. Eventually you will all get your wish and it will go away, then everyone can find another game to hate, probably Blizzards next release. |

Is there something that prevents the consoles from having MMORPGs with Persistent world?
