I myself volunteer on newbie island at least twice a week, if you ever need some help or want to site see I would be glad to help. SL really does have something for everyone, but for RPers it can be amazing.

Here is my biggest reason:
Because SL is a living world lovingly crafted by the people that live there.

I would be happy to share my LM’s if you care to share yours, SL is unlike any other virtual world available.

Like ---
Scavenger hunts – yup we got them
Live Music – wow do we ever have them
Dancing – SL has everything from ballet to rave
Owning a harem of beautiful slave girl – Gorean RPG sims might be for you.

SL has all this and more than I could ever list.
 

SL has huge Mafia families, that type of RP might interest you, and yes given the right area you can cap a capo in the head and kick him like the punk b***h that he or she is.

SL is a social environment, although there is combat from a multitude of eras, it was not designed to be a hack and slash mmorpg with quests at every corner. ALL of the content of SL is designed by the players for the players. Linden gave a blank slate and what you see now as SL is the world the loving members of the community have created. I can show you everything from gladiatorial battles over the owner ship of a slave in Gorean areas to scavenger hunts in tropical rain forests. Yes SL has its share of shopping, but in turn the amount of clothing, skins, bodies, hair, and accessories the community has created lets everyone be truly unique. Just last night I shopped for a Tux, went to a live in-game performance by a wonderful singer, and dance with an amazing woman, SL is an environment unlike any other. I would be happy to provide any landmarks you may need for your exploration.

The media is invited, but it is a real invite only party. I write for Warcry and I know some of the main office is going but I personally did not receive an invite this year. Last year almost the entire staff that wanted to go could. I personally can see why they would want to give the media some more exclusive time, but I think this change is a mistake. With the new E 4 All starting up I believe we will end up with two low population events instead of one mega event.

Ummm I dont get your statement the XP weekend benifits you also . I also have the CE box and I am quite happy that I will have a weekend to catch up to some members of my guild that have more play time than me. The game works as far as I am concerned. I have not run into anything that was game stopping in months. FPS's could be higher but I am ok with my 25-30 FPS.

That's if you SUBSCRIBE.

People who've had an unpleasant time this free month, due to bugs and so on don't WANT to subscribe naturally. Or at least more inclined not to.

So when you poise a 'thank you' to those dissatisfied players AFTER a period the 'appreciation' could've been received in confidence that all is forgiven, obviously the 'thank you' isn't in earnest and this is just a business move to get at least one more month out of the dissatisfied. Expect it to happen at the end of every single month if the systemic issues continue to be or others flourish here and there.

Imagine a friend having a reason to tell you "I'm sorry"; buys the hallmark cards, balloons, roses and candy, but the only condition is, you have to utterly forgive them before you're given any of it. Yeah, heartfelt.

Anyway, clearly the crowd that LOVES to be carved into more and more of a niche, more and more differentiated from the masses in exhibiting their unlimited faith in Sigil, will eat every word of the 'appreciation' message up and not think twice about exactly when this 'free weekend' falls. Or how much it goes against the previously championed 'difficult' 'challenging' MMO.

Even worse, not all be disturbed by a gimmick like this being pulled so very early in an MMO's lifespan. Do you believe this is a one time thing? That they won't get more imaginative (copy from other MMOs) with it? I'm not the type to spill doomsday theories, all I'm saying is I won't be surprised if there's a "PLEASE COME BACK, we've re-opened your account for triple-rare item weekend!" as other companies do when they start spilling out offers like these.

Attempting to keep a steady subscription base and/or grow it is great...by all means it is. But playing these cards so early? Wow. It lessens integrity and quite frankly alienates me.

Very good point and well stated thank you, I was not seeing it from that side. Dont us CE's get more than 30 days? Ill have to check on that.

That's pretty funny considering that Sigil's own patch notes and updates mention memory leaks and chunk problems.

But hey! Your having a great time, who cares about the rest of us that spent the same amount of money, so long as your good to go and as far as your concerned it works, then the rest of us are just useles anyways right?

AMEN, I fail to see why one 'anti-review' would change what I see in VG. I have been around MMO's far to long to even try to change the minds of others. All I can say is I like it and that is what maters to me. Like the author I could care less what others think. For me VG has compiled many of the features I have been looking for. Until a game comes out that has more of these features I will stay with VG. Hell there is a huge LOTRO fan base and I hate it so far. Every MMO gamer needs to make them selves a want list and then compare it to what the MMO's out there offer. My list would start something like:
Social Clothing
Player Housing
Non-fully clothed nude state (not naked, just not fully clothed)
FFA PvP
Player death drops
Player ships
Food with game world graphics
complex crafting
speech bubbles
Player made music (that other players can hear)
Mounts
Sitting in chairs
...and the list goes on. VG don’t have everything I want, but it has quite a few.

The summoned one is not what this discovery is about. It reads "Polkadots was the first person on Flamehammer to defeat the dreaded Abomination in Sands of Sorrow." the key words being "the dreaded Abomination" its a Mob.

Hi I am Ara and I was scammed by Realms of Torment/Mourning/Realms of Krell: Mourning Gee Ill buy this one yup yup yup. Oh wait this isn’t the MMO scam victims anonymous meeting. I was Site Manager for a mourning site back when the game was first incarnated and got the pre-order shaft like so many others. Least I got to see the game many others that pre-ordered never even got that. This incarnation will have to be something awesome for me to even use the alleged lifetime free account they say Ill get for being in the first batch of idiots ..... ooops I mean pre-orders. I still have origonal box art in my office that never made it on the box oh I mean cd case. I did hear from the new team though about two months ago. I got a PM from someone telling me to delete a sig file I used at Warcry because a peice of it was their artwork.
