WARNING WARNING - AUTOMATIC PAYMENT ENABLED !!
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 11/20/08 8:07:43 AM
A nice little detail that was left out here is the fact that GOA send ou tthe warning email from a complete different email address, so this email ended up in most people's spam folder and went unnoticed!! GOA just scammed a lot of people with this screw up! They should have immediately deactivated all Billing and rolled back all CC transactions that were made due to this screw up! Lot of people who thought they had canceled their accounts, will now be unpleasently suprised by their CC being billed, without their consent! All because GOA activated automatic renewal on ALL accounts! Even the canceled ones! QQ my ass! This is fraud! Nothing more, nothing less! Cheers |

WAR had 50% more server activity last week. This is going down the drain!!!

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see here in EU the retention rate is awfully low! All thanks to GOA! And now with GOA's most recent screw up with Billing by even reactivating CANCELED accounts and putting ALL accounts on Automatic Renewal and then did nothing to rectify the situation. I think the last bit of faith people had in GOA is now completely gone! As if you cannot even trust your CC details to GOA, then what's the point in continue'ing playing a dying game here in Europe! Here we are today! GOA did it yet again!
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 11/20/08 7:09:44 AM
Well, Long story short for us Europeans. I guess even Mark Jacobs is pulling his grey hairs out right now. I guess even he fell for GOA's lies that they promised to do better after the whole DAoC fiasco! But here we are today... WAR in Europe is nearly dead! - About 2/3rd of the servers are now mere ghosttowns. - Still no Server transfers in sight! It should have started around yesterday. But instead they launched the population dependend Heavy Metal Event, wich most players can't participate in due to being stuck on ghost town servers! GOA is yet again completely silent and even GM's have no clue when Transfers are coming! - GOA Screwed up with billing by reactivating canceled accounts and putting ALL accounts on automatic renewal without customer's consent! And they don't anything to rectify it! >> This is going to bite them hard through legal actions! As it's pure fraud! Nothing less, nothing more! I wonder where Mark Jacobs is now? I wonder what he has to say on all this right now? But I guess he isn't finished yet by pulling out his last grey hair! Seeing WAR in europe going down in flames! Bahh... should have bought the US version instead when I had the chance more then 2 months ago! But that's a little too late right now. Cheers |

Just so you know endgame was completed by the most hardcore guild in WoW, the guild in question played all the end game bosses in beta for 4-6months so come release they simply helped each other power lvl to max cap in a few days greatly helped with the top end lvl 70 PVE raid gear from TBC.. it was then business as usual as they killed all end game bosses dozens of times in beta, they knew the fights. It wil take heavy raid guilds atleast 6 months to get that far If you honesty think this is normal and they experienced all that wrath has to offer.. then.... pfft As to DK's, the starting area is designed to teach you how to play the DK over 3 levels so yes it handout.. duh. But its super fun too. I got wrath on launch day and I am only 20% in lvl72... with about 17 hours played.
This says it all really. Nothing more to add. The saddest thing is, that this merged RAID guild bragged about how fast they cleared all WOTLK content, while they appearently did it for 5-6 months already during Beta. Typical Childish Epeen behaviour. Cheers |

Problem is, that in these competetive times they should have known better! Especially when they witnessed the utter failure of Vanguard, Tabula Rasa and Age of Conan at first hand. Yet they still continued with the launch of WAR, while they would have been way better off posponing it, polishing it further ( and getting the cut classes back in), wait till the hype of WOTLK has blown over and launch the game in January or early february 2009. They would have sold just as much boxes, they would have had a better and more polished game and in the end have more players stick to the game. Yet, they fell for the same trap like Funcom did and launched their game prematurely. I admit WAR is more polished then Age of Conan was. That is for sure! But don't forget... I had a blast playing Age of Conan all the way up to level46 !! I didn't even care much for the itemisation issue either, as those things can be fixed pretty easily (thats why Im baffled Mythic still hasn't corrected the itemisation in WAR!). The reason I quited Age of Conan, is that with a couple patches at the end of the first month, they turned my gaming experience into a lagging and Disconnecting / Crashing hell! While the game ran absolutely fine the first couple weeks! Major problems I have with WAR atm: - Performance issues in most of the RvR lakes during keep sieges. Even tho they aren't even that large scale yet as we will going to see happen in Tier4! - Combat and Animations out of sync. Not to mention it feels very unresponsive lot of times. This mostly due to the out of sync animations and abilities not casting/working while I clearly activated them. - Horrible client - server netcode! Warping players, ghost images of players everywhere, even players flying into the sky! And casting delays in Scenarios and RvR lakes when it gets laggy! This is just utter pispoor programming and should have never made into the live servers in this state! And appearently they have a really hard time fixing this as 2 months later ZERO improvement has been made on this matter. - Itemisation in Tier3 and upwards is just a joke and almost 2 months Mythic is bussy nerfing...ehh balancing classes, while they should have addressed the itemisation mess first! As this game is RvR based and not solo 1vs1 and thus imbalances aren't that much of an issue yet (just WoW kiddies on Destro side crying about BW's). - Tier3 is just a grinding hell. I am getting bored of farming scenarios, so I like to quest. But the quest XP in Tier3 is just absolutely horrible. You really hit a brick wall when you get close to rank20 with your character. Lot of people have complained about this since shortly after launch and almost 2 months later nothing done about it as Mythic has his priorities elsewhere! - The Campain system is still horribly bugged. So Tier4 RvR is still pretty much pointless at the moment. Even tho we are now almost 2 months after launch and people are ending up in this tier more and more. If Mythic likes it or not. Tier4 is a mess! Wich brings us to the next point: - All Tier4 and endgame dungeons are horribly bugged. Just say they have clearly never been tested at all! Gunbad in Tier3 isn't all that fun either with bugging PQ's and when people die, they spawn right at the entrance and have to do everything all over again as everything resets. Wich applies for every instance in Tier3 and up! Everyone has been flaming and bashing Funcom for having the game only polished at Tortage (altho I had a breeze till level40 or so). But face it, Mythic hasn't been polishing the game beyond level20 either. The foremost reason people make it into Tier4 is by farming scenarios. Altho with the new timer restrictions and rotating scheme this is less possible too now. As scenarios pop a lot less frequent. Mythic has a jitload of work to do to get this game back on track. And now Mythic will receive far less income and thus valuable and much needed money that is now going to impact their further development of the game! I have been around with the launch with other MMORPG games like Lord of the Rings Online. And while they had some issues too, like with every MMORPG launch, the gameplay was just smooth and rather bugfree. So MMORPG's can be launched in a better state. But appearently these days developers seem to have forgotten how to do it. They rather dump an unfinished product on the market, overhype it to sell as much boxes and hope enough people stick around after the first month! Cheers |

15 year old hospitalised after pllaying WOW:WOTLK
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/17/08 9:08:04 AM
You know, It is the parents who are to blame here! There is something called parental controls in the Account Management of any decent MMO out there in wich you can restrict access for minors like this 15 year old kid. The fact that he could game on for 24hours says enough that his parents don't give a damn about their own kid. And that is most sad in all of this. So many parents just have kids just for having them, but completely forget about the responsibility they carry for their kids till they are at least 18 years old! Cheers |

It's getting old and it's getting sad! As how long since the NGE hit the SWG live servers? Over 4 years ago already? I am a SWG vet myself! I hate SOE just as much for what they have done to maybe the best sandbox MMORPG ever! But you know what? After about a year after the NGE and actually enjoying EverQuest2 I gave up on hating and moved on. I played so many MMO's since then... and I have seen so many MMO's with potential failing misserably and going down the drain! Hurting the MMO industry more then SOE ever did with the NGE... ... that I come to think that SOE isn't all that bad afterall. Even tho they royally fucked up with the NGE update on SWG! Cheers |

I have placed some constructive critism with an emotional string attached on the SOE forums before and never have been warned nor banned for it. Ever! So to receive a 22 month ban means you went out of line BIG time! So no one really cares about what you appearently have to say. Wich is basically nothing, then the usual RANT at SOE like so many of you Pro SOE haters! It's becoming old really. So old that you guys are becoming so sad, you might want to start thinking about looking for a shrink and get some serious help! Cheers |

How come EQ II doesn't attract more players?
The Tavern (General) « Everquest II 11/17/08 7:13:12 AM
Problem now is, EverQuest2 has become a really good game. Frankly, it's the best MMORPG out there when it comes to PVE, content and features. It's SOE that never bothered to look beyond their US borders and try market their game for example here in Europe. They could have had at least double the number of subs they have now. If people here in Europe just knew the game exists. Most people here in EU that play EverQuest2 at the moment are mostly ex-EQ1 players and so knew about EverQuest 2 coming. EverQuest 2 still has a good number of subs (hovering between 250k and 350k) wich isn't bad. But it could be so much more. If SOE just got their Marketing department to actually do their job! WoW endgame completed in 68 Hours and 30 minutes
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 11/15/08 2:11:12 PM
So let me get this straight: They all got to level80 AND cleared ALL the RAID encounters of WOTLK in just 3 days? HAHAHAHA A multi-billion dollar company like Blizzard needed two whole years of development on this expansion pack and the hardcore crowd finishes it in 3 days Way to go Blizzard! On a more serious note: I think Blizzard mistuned the whole RAID content Big Time! Or more worrisome: They trully have lost all their good employees and don't have the expertise inhouse anymore to create decent RAID encounters. Cheers |

Seriously, You people should stop pretending *Vanguard has plenty of players, but you don't see them as the world is huge* BS all the time all over the place. The new trial island is okay, but even now it's released (and I did try it couple weeks ago) the game servers are empty! The trial island is empty! You maybe see 2-3 other players running around and that's it. And it will become even worse when you get off the island! The little population Vanguard has are all at high level and I am sure it's acceptable and fun up there. But for new players Vanguard is just a dead and boring buggy game. Even on the trial island I run into the same old bugs like a year ago. The game has gotten lot better performance wise and some pesky bugs have been fixed. But that's it! Cheers |

You know, I like Craig already a lot better. He is more straight forward and more honest. The difference in communication between him and Gaute is almost shocking! And I believe he might actually get Age of Conan back on track. If they continue on this pace and this level they are now and then with the server merges... I might give this game another try in a couple months or so. Cheers |

You'd think Blizzard would have a better service than SOE...
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 11/13/08 7:14:48 AM
And WoW is any different? And LOTRO is any different? And AoC is any different? And WAR is any different? EverQuest 2 isn't only about RAID'ing. You <Mod edit> who cannot bring up the will to RAID to get the best gear and start crying about it. The vast majority of the EQ2 playerbase has never ever seen a RAID in EQ2. They spend their time in other things like Heritage Quests, EPIC Quest lines, normal 6 (12) man dungeons, questing, crafting and exploring the game. I myself have never done a 24-man raid in EQ2 at all and yet I enjoy every other aspect in EQ2 for years. And so does the whole guild I am in. All this so called best gear you can get from RAID'ing is only useful IN RAID dungeons and make progress IN RAID dungeons. For everything else this gear is completely useless and unnessessary! EQ2 has 24 classes. And for a game with that many classes, SOE does a fine job in balancing them out as much as they can. The only people that complain are some of those hardcore no life Min-Max players that basically complain in EVERY darn MMO there is! I have had to deal with SOE Customer Support quite a few times and they were always really fast and helpfull. From Blizzard I never had a petition answered within a week! Same with Funcom and GOA/Mythic. Only Codemasters are pretty decent with their Customer Support here in EU. Cheers |
