What do you expect? ALot of people in this country thinks it's ok for the government to confiscate your hard earned dough....but offer a virtual pet for ten bucks? String them evil corporations up!

The starting area fiasco is silly. Why are they doing that? Sigh.

I'm debating getting this game but it is hard to find some honest reporting on this game. Either it's the greatest...well, just because it is. Or it sux...just because it does.

I have played many games and I know they all have some grind in 'em. That don't bother me.

What I want to know is this: Is PvP pointless? Are guilds substitive? End game a wait for more levels and more quests? I'm not that interested in graphics (to a point)...music, eh, whatever. I can play my own music. Everyone look the same? I won't ask if idjits are playing because they are in every game and they can be ignored.

I enjoyed watching the 8 videos.

Look forward to seeing more.  I always appreciate the hard work people put into stuff like this...good job!

I'm definitely looking at getting into this game.  I appreciate all the constructive posts regarding the game...both pro and con. But, I think this is getting rediculous that this poor shmoe is getting hammered over his spelling and sentence structure.

Ok, can't swim...I hope that changes but won't change anything for me...perhaps the water is acid death anyway.

Sandbox potential? Now, that really interests me.

No vehicle bounce/wheelies/jumps? Eh, that sorta stinks because I'm a big road warrior fanatic...hopefully that will change.

Long travel times? Doesn't bother me too much but I can see where that can hurt grouping with friends/guildmates etc. Perhaps some mode of quick travel between some towns? Like air baloons or motorized gliders? Just sayin'.

'Yeah, that's great. Except that nobody in SWTOR is going to "start out as all powerful beings" or have "all the tools you need to solve a problem" or "just be handed something" besides a class title and enough power to fight basic humans instead of bats and snakes.

So I don't even know what your point is.'

Exactly. Do any of you start playing a game with the expectations of being some poor shlub in some run down bar in some run down town? No, you look forward to making a name for yourself that others will remember. That's what they're talking about.

There's no question for me. Yes. If I don't like it, at least I tried to.

SUCCESS!

'and most players who stayed with AoC are blind fanbois who worship Craig as their God (and Gaute as the Devil) and will never ever quit no matter what.'

Heh. And who do you worship at Aion?  The remaining gamers at SWG...who do they worship? WoW...who's their god?

If that is the case, I'll have to see how it plays out.

But, if I am asked one time to pay for a 'fix'...I'm outta there.

If the game is very linear and very quest driven...ignoring certain things that put end game meaning into the game...then the game will go the route of most others. Max your level and gear and then whine about no end-game content. Next game, rinse and repeat.

I still think for a game to succeed in the long run, there must be content (meaningful...not 'next' click and kill. There must also be the tools available for the gamers to create drama.  Guild tools and abilities are one great way to do that. Crafting is another.  An actual reason to battle other players. Instead of some stupid ranking system.

Housing would be great but I hope they do it right. SWG really ruined the landscape with all the stupid houses all over the place.

If they bring in item shops and make the game f2p, they will lose me as a customer.

Sheesh, what the heck is going on with these game companies? Are they all composed of buffoons?

I don't blame some people being skeptical. Look at some of the online games we've been subjected to.

But, for me, I'll remain hopeful. I loved SWG and I'm not looking for SWG2. I'm looking for Star Wars. Story, space, combat where a group has to be able to shift tactics on the fly to cover for someone that went down. And Bounty Hunters.

I agree with some here about the current mindset of developers, I hope they don't ruin it.

I think it probably would have been better as a single setting in the 40k universe...kinda like a gang war in the warrens of a hive city. The hive cities are gigantic, making vast landscapes possible. Instead of guilds....hivegangs.

 Just a thought.

Are there anymore 21 day free trials left?

I'm currently playing with the avatar Cpt. Desjani. My short trial just ended and I'm low on funds at the moment until payday. I'm loving the game and want to play more.

Since I dl'd the client, do I still have to purchase the game in order to play or can I just start monthly payments to keep playing?

 Absolutely good trailer.

Someone earlier mentioned that they wondered how many will hate so many Jedi in the game.

I played SWG and I hated all the Jedi running around.........because of the time frame the game was set in. This game takes place when there are alot of Jedi. I don't mind at all.

But, I still want to be a Bounty Hunter.

They're sitting on a gold mine if they do it right.

I guess I'm one of those 300k. And still having fun.

"What the...people still play grindhammer? Lolhammer? Outoftouchdevshammer?"

Yep, I sure do. And having alot of fun. I do agree about the crafting but otherwise I like the game alot.

I was never really that much into PvP until this game. Tried it in WoW...couldn't get into it. Tried it in SWG....had fun but it never really grabbed me there either. This isn't a slight towards those games, by the way. I'm sure others enjoy those games type of PvP and I won't redicule them for it.

Don't know why your surprised people play a game you hate. I'm surprised you think like that with the rich history of all the MMORPG's on this site...I hear the same old tripe on just about all of them. It's my money, and if I want to 'waste' it....what's that to you?

I think everyone knows about that.

What about the other stuff? Who is here working for them and hyping? Because someone likes the game makes them dishonest? If someone likes the game and spends THEIR money to play...how does that hurt you?

To clarify, I don't play AoC but I'm thinking of returning to it.

5 things I'd like to see? Well, graphics isn't that important though it can't look stupid. To put my thoughts into perspective, WoW isn't bad to me. Though I do wish it better than that.

 1. Player run economy.

 2. Extensive Player Crafting with a reason to keep crafting. Hate to say it, but that would mean decay...probably won't happen though.

 3. Detailed Guild Control. A reason for guilds. This would enable player-created content.

 4. Space travel....more than just click on a console or a robot and appear there.

 5. Player or guild housing. But, not crazy like SWG.  Restricted areas such as cities, spaceports, space stations etc. Instanced or not is ok with me.

That's all I can think of. I'm not expecting a sandbox game but give us at least enough to create our own content and story lines. Guild politics/war etc.
