Like destructible environments and that "Snow Run" where you had a time limit to race through a blizzard while fighting off enemies? |

Should MMO's that shutdown give refunds?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/23/09 12:13:43 AM
The "box" fee is there for people to make money. Now we have more digital downloading, so a disk is becoming obsolete. It is just a marketing strategy no different from pricing something at $99 instead of $100. Some game companies do allow things like "trial" upgrades and free downloads but not many. Once a game is canceled, I doubt they have the money to issue refunds to everyone who bought the box to support their game in the first place. Just make sure you don't keep paying for an MMO after you find out it will be canceled. |

Did beta for both Auto Assault and SEED. Played TR trial and it was just terrible. Auto Assault, to me, was the same concept as EVE Online that had already included non-combat player avatars in cities. It had amazing graphics and the gameplay was very fast paced. It would have been a nice single/multiplayer PC game but definitely not an MMO. SEED was a very interesting idea and the cartoon graphics added to the whole atmosphere. Unfortunately there were many bugs and even connecting to the game was very difficult. Once in, there really wasn't much to do and I usually ended up crashing to desktop after a few minutes. This MMO was similar to Face of Mankind in that it left a lot of room for RP it just lacked the firepower. And well TR. Its not even worth talking about. |

Thats very similar to my experience to TR when I played. |

No way. |

Still wish Interplay would have backed Hardwar 2 |

Last time I played was when the newest expansion was released. I met a decent amount characters ingame but at least half of them were the same person on different accounts. The expansions just stretched everything out more as well. And they even impimented a level system in the game. /level. |

With MMO's being so popular these days you would figure TV shows like Portal would make a comeback. Then again G4TV is nothing like what it was. |

After the death of DAoC. It seems like Mythic is just going to retry the same old ideas with a franchise backing it. |

General: Could the Firefly MMO make it Into Black
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/10/08 2:05:37 AM
Don't think it would cut it as an MMO, however, as a SP game it would be fine. |

Check out Exteel. Its fast paced fun. That is of course if youre into the whole Armored Core type games. |

Biggest flop in history of MMOs incoming ?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 4/07/08 2:41:05 PM
What does PoTBS have to do with anything. AoC is going to be right up there next to WoW and WAR. |

So, Age of Conan fans, what class(es) do you want to be?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 4/06/08 1:47:31 AM
Its strange because Dark Templar was also an appealing class to me. I feel that it would be a good solo class as well as a great pvp class. |

Between 10-20$ is fine for a monthly sub. Its just money. Theres nothing wrong with in-game ads either. F2P with ads and sub to remove them. |

What would make you CANCEL YOUR PRE-ORDER!!..?
General Discussion « Age of Conan 3/28/08 7:17:43 AM
Only thing that would make me cancel my pre-order would be if my computer blew up. If for some reason there are a lot of bugs in openBETA that is understandable because its BETA and not a released product. And all MMOs have bad launches, you just have to hope for the best. I have a lot of faith in Funcom. Anarchy Online was and still is a very good MMO that has been around for a long time. |

omgz i need a $2000 rig to play this game !!
General Discussion « Age of Conan 3/27/08 1:54:00 AM
I spent about $1,600 on my new rig. But I figured why build something cheap that will run AoC when I could build a machine that might last me a few years. You would also be suprised how many people don't build their PC's but instead buy them from Dell or some other manufacturer for an absorbent amount of money. |

Perhaps they chose to limit free roaming to go with the collision feature. Ex. The 300 Effect. Fending off many foes while fighting at the mouth of a narrow hall or valley. They mention this in one of the Dev Diaries I believe. |
