It doesn't help that there are great single player games out there that gives players an epic experience minus the awful communities and gold farmers...

Sorry to hear you had trouble... On the flip side,  I had no problems registering and am now enjoying a nice F2P game.

Mine had a 2hour wait time, but I didn't care that much.. I gave me a chance to go out for a nice ride, eat, and drink  then settle in for some serious game time..

Him and his brother ruined TR,from the two people I know at NCSoft they both agree that Garriot left on his own free will,so it's gonna be an amusing court case Im sure.

I know someone already touched on this, but one of the greatest apsects about DAOC was the Realm Pride!  I don't think you get much of it now days...  well you might get a smidge in LOTRO's monster play or if you play a Stygian on the RP-PVP in AoC.  But the level of competition between the realms was just so pure!  Gawd I remember setting my alarm for 4 am on a Sat morning for Hib relic raids!(we we the least populated of the three). The pride even tricketed into PVE life when going on dragon raids...  If the game has a chance at coming back why let it die?  I would be more than happy to come back!

If RG want to make a new game who are we to deny him that?   If its good then "woohoo" if not..  "meh"  go back to WOW.   But don't knock the man for doing what he does best.

Edit: Also after reading the article again i believe NCSOFT wont ever hire an american to spearhead their games anymore, i know this may sound a bit racist, but when so much money is involved it will leave a bitter taste in anyones mouth. Especially when Aion another korean developed game is a highly anticipated game in US/EU.

I don't know about that, COH/COV didn't hurt ncsoft one bit..

OMG Everything I hear about this game is totally rad...  I promised myself I wouldn't get all worked up over a game before it's release(mostly because of the dissapointment afterwards) but I cannot help it! This game is so good if I could I would eat it!!

First.. when you run the game you get an error message about something not initializing (im at work so i dont have the message with me now..) If you leave the error message on the screen and run L2 again.. then you get in without the error message... but it doesn't end there...

Once you're in.. you can see the familiar Login screen but instead you get a message Error ID:610 from gameguard. Saying that you are using a hacking tool.. Looking at the NCSOFT website you are suggested to turn off any firewall.. anti virus.. and to the extreme if that didn't work.. then uninstall them... so i did... because you know.. it be fun to play my BladeDance and use the 3 months i have left on my PAID subscription.... no luck.. then i tried to delete the gameguard folder and let it "update itself" when doing the file check.. but sadly no luck...

So here i email NCSOFT support... quick reply... i'll give them that.. but their official answer "Vista not supported.. can't help you".

So unless someone can help.. (i can post DXDIAGS and screenshots later) or someone fixed this.. then i'm retiring from L2... sad.. i really enjoyed the game...
