I think I will still give it a try.  It's free right for the time being, the retail box is around 10.00, players are say the patches are making the game better, and all the bad press is keeping the jerks away.

Does anyone know what is going on at Mythic Entertainment?  What are they working on at the moment?

I read a few months ago they were hiring people, but since then I haven't seen a thing.

 I am going to deviate off topic a little and say I can not stand the all the negative and derogatory words I see a lot in mmos.   Come on gentlemen, do you really have you use words like "gay" and/or "rape"??  I am all for free speech but using words out of context is just an epic fail...  

It doesn't help that there are great single player games out there that gives players an epic experience minus the awful communities and gold farmers...

Sorry to hear you had trouble... On the flip side,  I had no problems registering and am now enjoying a nice F2P game.

Mine had a 2hour wait time, but I didn't care that much.. I gave me a chance to go out for a nice ride, eat, and drink  then settle in for some serious game time..

I know someone already touched on this, but one of the greatest apsects about DAOC was the Realm Pride!  I don't think you get much of it now days...  well you might get a smidge in LOTRO's monster play or if you play a Stygian on the RP-PVP in AoC.  But the level of competition between the realms was just so pure!  Gawd I remember setting my alarm for 4 am on a Sat morning for Hib relic raids!(we we the least populated of the three). The pride even tricketed into PVE life when going on dragon raids...  If the game has a chance at coming back why let it die?  I would be more than happy to come back!

If RG want to make a new game who are we to deny him that?   If its good then "woohoo" if not..  "meh"  go back to WOW.   But don't knock the man for doing what he does best.

Edit: Also after reading the article again i believe NCSOFT wont ever hire an american to spearhead their games anymore, i know this may sound a bit racist, but when so much money is involved it will leave a bitter taste in anyones mouth. Especially when Aion another korean developed game is a highly anticipated game in US/EU.

I don't know about that, COH/COV didn't hurt ncsoft one bit..
