PlayNC customer service - losing customers before TR even launches
General Discussion « Tabula Rasa 9/06/07 12:26:29 PM
Yes I totally agree they are in the wrong and its disgraceful. The point I was trying to make was that we should have laws so that when this situation occurs, that we have a legal stance to demand that the companies fix it to our satisfaction within a certain time period, and not fog us off with excuses as they did with the OP. Basically we should have more rights when it comes to this stuff. |

When you buy software you don't 'own' it in any regard all you own is the cardboard box and the plastic disc not the software. When you buy an online game you don't have the 'right' to play it online, that is a service that can be revoked at any time by the company with no explanation necessary - it can be read in every EULA/TOS or every online game on this site. Basically the only rights you have are what the company sees fit to give you and you have NO comeback except to cancel your subscription. Now most companies will do their best to retain customers under normal circumstances as to do otherwise would negatively effect their image and that is very important in this industry. But situations the OP described do happen and you cannot demand anything from the company as they have complete ownership of the software you have installed on your system and the right to deny online service at any time without explanation. Its something I think needs to change drastically so when situations like this occur we players have legal rights and can demand a fair hearing.

Are you crazy??? People that use item shops are lazy and pathetic, and who either can't be bothered playing the game the way it was designed or incapable!. Why should you be able to buy an uber weapon with no effort required? Its the same mentality of cheaters, who want an easy win button usually due to some kind of inferiority complex or they just hate losing...well boohoo! Learn to play the game the way it was meant to be played and put the work in!!! Good items should go to those that put the effort into aquiring them, not those with the most money it defeats the entire purpose of gaming and if you can't see that you're beyond hope. |

PlayNC customer service - losing customers before TR even launches

PlayNC are definetly in the wrong here. They should have a system in place to deal with this particular situation. A simple password reset involving an email sent to the original registered email address is all thats required here.
I would threaten them with legal action at this stage, gets me angry just reading how incompetent they are. |

Ok what utter crap you have posted here, the adventure packs are completely optional and few people bother with them as they so unimportant to gameplay. SOE have also stated that any future optional content such as adventure packs will be included for FREE with regular patches and not charged for. So lets address your pathetic excuse for the expansions argument. Expansions + Game (According the Jackdog) Desert of Flames $29.99 Echos of Faydar $39.99 Kingdom of the Sky $29.99 (Ill even add in the cost of the game...) Everquest2 $19.99 Total for all of the above approx = $120 A new player coming to the game would be advised to get all of the above. Now if you listen to Jackdog you will think that its going to cost you $120. But just to prove what an idiot and hater of EQ2 he is, the real price of all the above is only $39.99. REAL PRICE =$39.99 including the game and ALL expansions. I'll even provide the link. http://www.direct2drive.com/6/4362/product/Buy-EverQuest-II:-All-In-One-Compilation-Download So don't listen to haters with some unknown chip on their shoulder but ask the real players. Jackdog I really don't know what your personal problems are that cause you to post here and try to put new players off trying EQ2, but its really starting to make you look pathetic and sad. Its also becoming rather boring TBH |

Ah yes FOM back in mid open-beta was amazing (pre-alien era) :) I worked my way up to to president of Eurocore and had the most fun I've had in any MMO I've ever played. It seems from what I've read that the game has lost all of its magic since then. Such a shame.
Good times back then. |

Well all I know is that I came back to EQ2 after 2 years (first time I only played for 3 weeks as my system couldn't handle it), I began on the Fae trial and subbed as soon as my trial was over. (about 3 weeks ago) I was constantly surrounded by other new players, grouping was no problem at all, the chat channels are full and active (alot of helpful people BTW - great community as far as I've experienced.) Starting areas are as full as any other MMO that I've played - I'm in the level 20+ zones now and they are just as active if not more, I can stand almost anywhere and see players of my level, sometimes I have to wait on spawns due to the population which I don't mind as its better to be full than empty. Anyway that's my experience noobie area was very populated, and in my level 20+ zones I'm in now they are very populated and active. Most fun MMO I've played in a long time. This is on Splitpaw EU server, so my experience may be different from some of the US posters. |

How good a game is is 100% personal opinion and nothing to do with popularity or how many people play it. |

The play the fae trial is much better than trial of the island... as you actually experience the real game environment.
http://everquest2.station.sony.com/promotions/playthefae - 7 day free trial that is different from trial of the island.
Had me hooked after I came back after 2 years away, I'm loving it. |

Vanguard: Too early to go back?
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 8/15/07 6:16:08 PM
Leave it at least 6 months before coming back. |
|
|
I have to agree with a previous poster, I would wait for free trial for Vanguard before you purchased....there are server merges about to happen etc and many people leaving at the moment. Its just not the game that we were promised and I personally feel it offers no depth whatsoever or longevity. It may become a great game in about 12 months but at the moment its not worth it. Performance is also a nightmare even on the highest spec system available. So IMO leave it 6 months to a year and check it out again, EQ2 is far superior in all aspects.

Thank you OP I am thinking of trying EQ2 again and this will help me alot :) |

This game has RMT and offline shops for game items that is a total con IMO!! and anyone supporting out of game purchase shops is a fool. |

"Star Trek:Online" Boringly Going Where Every MMORPG Gone Before: Here's Why
Perpetual Studios Version Discussion « Star Trek Online 8/13/07 5:04:32 PM
DS9 was certainly not the MOST action packed of the various series, I don't think you'll find anyone that would agree with that statement becuase its simply not true. IMHO it began well but starting going downhill for me about halfway through its lifetime. |

Its unheard of for beta testers to be able to state the fact that they are currently beta testers...very unusual and a strange choice. |
