Obviously you wont get your actual CE box until the game is released sometime in the next 12 months if we are lucky.

They will sell a lot more once they wake and realise people need a release date before throwing money around on trust (who would trust an MMORPG developer? lol )

About 125k - 150k - there are only so many stupid people in the world at any one time. (me included) :P

Seems to me that article is a complete and utter over-exageration of the reality of the game, and the choices will be nothing like as important or game changing as he says.

The whole thing is a total hype-a-thon I would take it with a pinch of salt until we know.

Stress test is for previous beta testers only - and has nothing whatsoever to do with pre-purchasing.

I think we will get a beta weekend last weekend of this month for pre-purchasers.

Some of you peeps really need to reel in the hyperactivity over GW2, they have not re-wrote the book of MMORPGs - no matter how long a list of things you make 95% of the game is standard by the book MMO gameplay, its like WOW meets GW1+

The entire digital copy market has become a complete RIPOFF!

In the early days of digital downloads - the digital versions were offered at substantial discount common sense since there is no postage for the company to organise and pay, no box to design and manufacture, no disks to buy and copy, package and ship.

Now though - they charge exactly the same if you buy digital or physical - anyone who thinks this isn't being ripped off is a fool.

Confirmed - Play.com is selling the same game with all bonuses £10 cheaper in the uk.

The basic version price is fair enough due to not having monthly fees.

~The digital deluxe and collectors editions are totally nuts.

The extra you get in these versions are a total joke compared with other games and are not worth anything.

Why pay in full for a game when you don't have a release date?

It's not like they are going to run out of digital copies - you're just encouraging this type of behaviour from future developers.

You wont get a refund if the game is delayed - you have no basis for a refund, they didn't promise anything within any timescale.

If you play it like a traditional MMO you are doomed to fail.  You don't have skill rotations and instead of spamming set rotations you instead use your utility at proper times.  Dodging is also extremely important.  Everything is pretty much about timing and paying attention to what is going on around you (beyond just staying out of the fire).  You can move while casting.  You can smart cast (fast cast or whatever they call it) ground AoEs.  Clickers are pretty much screwed.  You can actually move out of the way of attacks.  There is no true tank, or dedicated healer, and everyone is going to have to support or control in some way.  Questing isn't done in a traditional manner.  WvWvW is very different from other forms of PvP people are used to.  There are a huge number of mechanics gamers will have to adapt to.

Surely they will give us the date by then?

They must think people are stupid to buy a game without a release date - it could be delayed for months!

GW2 would never have housing like Vanguard,the games are so far apart it's unthinkable.Vanguard housing is in the open world plus Vanguards world is vast compared to GW2.Vanguard has no instances and dungeons are open world,everything is open.
Housing in Vanguard is all craftable by the players from the paint to the tiles to the mortar to make the house.
If GW2 was going to have housing it would have to be like EQ2 or LOTRO not Vanguard.
Vanguard housing is made up of plots,you by the plot for certain amount of gold,the best areas charge more gold or plat for the plot.

Yes I know what Vanguard housing was like I was one of the first to ever build one.

I meant it would great to have plots like vanguard in the home instance that you could choose from etc and then build it like Vanguard. Thought that was implied by my inclusion of it.
