I dunno... I'm not very enthused by the Logos aspect of this game. The first time they redesigned the whole game... they said they had too many "superstars" in the team and somehow... too many cooks spoiled the broth... I think it's just "Lord British" who seriously need and attitude adjustment... he aint all that really... maybe he should go with an existing IP cause his ideas suck. |

They're damage melee + buffs It's true that more and more MMOs are stepping away from the support classes... especially when they involved a lot of PvP like Conan or WAR. Support classes often complain that they cannot compete in PvP... or that they are prime targets. For many people ... for a class to be interesting it has to allow them to participate actively in the game and in MMOs the many activity is almost always combat... vs NPCs or in PVP. So either you have pure support classes and need to balance the game so that they are useful... meaning that groups have a hard time without em... that model makes the class less popular... and there for create a demand that will keep many players from finding that key member for their group to be successful. Or they go for a hybrid that will bring in more people to the class... |

Somehow I get the feeling this will be the predominant class for PvP. It sounds pretty powerful. |

I disagree... there are fewer good superhero names than a made up name for an elf... I think you perfectly illustrate why it's a great policy. You sit on tons of great names. Distribute 30 of these great names to 30 active people and frankly... it's one unhappy non-customer for 30 happy customers. I suggest you keep your account active... or pick the names you truely cherish that you can level up and hope no one wants the others.
You're not gonna be happy with anything I have to say... or what most people with an opinion on this have to say. I don't currently play the game and have great names reserved... in the back of my mind I always think I could return to the game cause I have great memories playing the game... but my level 30s, 40s and 50s are not going anywhere and now if I were to come back... I could potentially grab names I always wanted but could never get... |

There will be far more paying members well served by this than potentially old players returning but discouraged by this measure You can make level 7 on any character in one casual night of 3-4 hours. The first time when they did this they released a whole bunch of names for the release of CoV. I got to login and pick long desired names and really prompted me into starting new alts with those names. This measure is more than fair. (in the forums and on the Triumph server I was known as Premium) |

When they announced Dungeons and Dragons I tought for a sec that we'd have some better translations of the pen and paper game... growth from adventuring. Seriously... does it really matter that you wiped every single creature in the dungeon? Was that what the quest was about? Mobs are supposed to be an obstacle to advancement... fighting them is not the advancement. EQ had a whole bunch of half explored ideas and it seems with time MMOs only filtered through them to take what already worked rather than trying to make new things work. Obviously one of the problems with well crafted questing content is that it's often if not always static and someone always make up the walkthrough for all of it and basically ruins the feeling of accomplishment... instead even if you finish the quest by yourself... you feel like you're loosing speed compared to the server population for not doing the walkthroughs... They need some measure of randomization in rewards... quest contacts... paths... dungeons... etc. How's this gonna work in PvP?... I dunno... maybe not everyone is the fighting class? |

The heck with it... I'm done explaining to people how Warhammer is the rich IP the original Warcraft stole from or how this is more of a copy of the gameplay from Dark Age of Camelot... which this company made and came out prior to WoW... or how not "WoW clone" is anymore a WoW Clone than WoW is an EQ Clone... Let me speak in a language you'll understand. WAR is a WOW CLONE... it exactly like WOW but better and newer!!! You liked WOW? You'll love this cause it's like WoW but you can level up doing PvP... also the PvP in WAR is not an after thought... the whole game is balanced around it!... so you get REAL class balance even if you just want to PvE!!! In WAR ... EVERYONE fights... you don't stand back and heal and become the number 1faggy target... you're as badass as the next guy. Warhammer is over 20 years old... it ALREADY has the RTS games, TCG, Board games, miniatures, RPG... etc In WAR you look badass... not like a freakin fruitcake... -In WAR... Dwarves are cool.
Time to move on to the next gen WoW !!!!!!!!!! That's the WARzilla!!!! |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Greenskin Starting Area Description

Right now I like the Greenskin characters and zone better... better than what we saw in the previous part of the interview where they displayed screens from the Dwarf starter zone... On the Dwarf side everything is very blocky and they don't look at all like they concept art... the Dwarf concept art is truely amazing... some of the best I've seen ever. Then they go ahead and pull out octogonal tubes that are supposed to be cannons?... The dwarf faces look like they're painted on a flat surface. I hope the screens we saw were prior to the revamp... not after... otherwise they need to put even more work into it. One thing I realized when looing at the orc area however is that they could use some visual effect for objects in a distance... a light fog... something that makes objects further away appear whiter... this way when you look at a scene like a forest or mountains... everything doesnt just appear to be the same color and texture... that has a cheap feel to it ...with a fog effect you can make things out from one another better... it's a simple effect that adds a lot of depth. ...They need some of that pretty much everywhere I think. In the dwarf area it would add perspective to the enormous statues... it's something you barely detect consciously... but if you stand next to a 100 meter statue... the top of it would be a little faded into fog... meaning a little whiter and less detailed... than the enormous feet next to which you'd be standing. They sort of have a distance effect where you just stop seeing things in the horizon... but I'm talking about objects in the field of view... |

Additionally... it can also be considered a failiure if it really short of achieving the potential confered by it's IP and the generated hype... and instead simply gets by... Most MMOs are failiures because most MMOs these days are based on very promising IPs... D&D, Star Wars, LoTR, Matrix, etc... Yes people still play SOE games... people on the "Station"... Station is an artificial respirator that keeps crappy games alive by selling membership packages. Matrix should be dead. SWG... STAR WARS Galaxies... should be at the 5 million registered users marker... it cycled so many people in and out it's not even funny. SWG is a failure. As for Vanguard... if Microsoft was smart enough to pull out when they saw Sigil wasn't going anywhere and was holding on to it's "carte blanche" contract. SOE should have pushed back the release date... like NCsoft did with Cryptic and City of Heroes. Vanguard has butched is launch so horribly... it's a failure. EQ2... well it may be named Everquest 2 but we all know it never became the "next everquest". I think the jury is still out on EQ2 but it is far from having met the potential anyone would have predicted it would have when it was announced. It was dwarfed by WoW and EQ1... so it's poor performance can be said to be... circumstancial. SOE has a bad track record for handling people's accounts, billing and providing customer service as well. SOE has many offices and different teams has different track records... this is being develloped by SOE Seattle. However, there is a trend of bad decisions from the higher ups. This game could be great... but I can see some fucktard suit coming up with dumb decisions and pissing off the player base... the PC version anyways. This game sounds promising. I hope it has depth but it's not likely from an action based MMO. Also

I admit although they did a good job so far... I'd really like em to be closer to their concept art... -The faces of the dwarves just look painted on...
This is THE game I plan on playing (and Marvel Universe Online)... so I don't say this to bring it down... but I hope this is not what I see when the game releases. But anyways... Conan probably put out the worst screenshots ever when they started announcing the game and the graphics look pretty good now... I'm sure the graphics will only get better for WAR... they're already pretty good just a little boxy... You can't compare with WoW beta either... Blizzards never lets anyone see anything that is unfinished. They don't want people like me ripping their preview to shreads... |

ROFL I was reading real fast and at first when I can across this: ...such as obtaining the codes to the security system or disarming it somehow, sleeping the guards with gas; while the ParaGON... I thought I read "sleeping with the guards... with gas" For just a second I thought... why do you need to tell me that the guards I distract by sleeping with them have gas? |

Most MMOs would be happy to get this many suscribing players... This game should hit the 5 million customers easily. |
