I started following WH40k not so long ago, maybe 3 years ago when Soulstorm came out. I loved the world inmediately.

Loved DoWII and now Space Marine is that great!

I have good hopes for DMO.

I'll patiently wait for it. In the mean time, i'll be playing SWTOR = )

You're ridiculous. If you do not get guild alliances maybe it's because all you know is WoW... so you could not possibly concieve of a need for guilds to collab on a larger scale.

None the less, a nice feature propably most useful for RP guilds who might have other guilds associated with their background stories etc.

PvP geared guilds tend to have "friend guilds"... Allies from previous games...

My guild comes from WAR and we had a 10 guild alliance where each guild had between 15 to 40 members. This feature is about organising our members on launch day and knowing we'll all be on the same server.

You have a very limited view of things.

It is the main point. I won't be leaving SWTOR for a crappy 2 sidded faction war MMO of lesser quality.

If 40k does not offer 1 faction per playable race for a minimum of 3 factions than what the heck does it offer that SWTOR won't have?

Nevermind the fact that they'd be defacing the IP by throwing in races in the same factions.

If you look at the forums... you can feel 4 distinct big crowds

-The WoW+Rift crowd looking for the next triple-A to offer challenging PvE endgame

-The SWG leftovers who keep demanding for the most "Themepark" MMO ever to implement "Sandbox" features

-The WAR+DaoC crowd drawn in by Mythic instanced PvP and PvP progression (and hoping for some RvR)

-And then the KOTOR people that keep demanding solo player features, minigames and companion romances

And SWTOR is trying to keep all of em interested, so far succesfully.

It's so sad they decided to go PS3 only.

This game will have to make a beta key magically appear in my mailbox somehow even though I have not signed up for it for me to even pay attention to it.

If you're not SWTOR... it's beta or bust.

I think they are changing the way MMOs are made by not making an engine of their own but licensing a ready made engine (the Hero Engine)

We're gonna have to see more and more of this because developpement of an MMO is just too costly and at this point no one is taking any risks.

I wish people didn't act like they were born last week and act like everything is new and shocking!

People send communiqués that they will be making announcements at certain events all the time. Get over yourself.

With no other game would I even tolerate this. If it was not SWTOR the normal rule of "no demo no monies" would totally apply.

True but one of the main appeals of EVE is the economy... you start mixing in microtransactions and who knows how this will affect it...

...the other aspect is that it's been going on for a while and might have outlived its place in the playerbases hearts... some people might just be looking for an excuse to transform their fading interest into a grand exit (might be leaving anyways now that the idea has been sparked)

I love Firefly but I am afraid those guys are just putting a coat of paint from an IP they don't even have access to on a piece of asian crap MMO

If you can't afford a computer to run modern games then you really don't have that much to spend on videogames right?

That leaves people that want to play on devices... stuff like tablets, netbooks and smartphones. But most of those platforms are controlled pretty tightly.

Can't say I wish Walmart any sort of success anyways.

I like it but I wish they would not make the saucer so elongater and more disk shaped.

When you owe your dungeon run to someone letting you into their group rather than being magically added to a group... you tend to act a bit more like your tush is on the line and less like you have a sense of entitlement.

That also means the way you act, perform and the general impression you give and friends you make count towards future runs. That is the idea behind an MMO.
