I drive by their studios every day right off hwy 70 in St. Charles Mo. I will stop by and see what action I see. I was there a few years ago and I was given a tour of the studios. I saw Heroes Journey in action and it looked awsome. If I can remember to stop by I will take a few pics of what I see.

I saw this title on the main page under forum activity and got a good laugh. Very funny.

As far as starts go, it seems to be one of the smoothest so far. The only problem Ive seen is that there are too many people camping the same spawns to complete missions. If I were them, I would at least up the timer or create more spawns to solve the problem. Besides that everything seems to be working great.

The only way I would ever go back to AoC is if someone other than Funcom owned it and made it worth the $16 monthly fee(international fees included).

They should have fired Smedley and kept the 41 others. Company would have been better off.

If you can find it at $3 like Unfinished says then its worth it. If you go into it not expecting alot, then you will be impressed by the begining levels of 1-20. Once you get out of Tortage thats when it goes downhill. The higher you get the worse the game gets with ganking, bordom and everything else that kills mmo's. But by all means....dont rush through the levels without admiring the scenery. Its something to be admired. If you can casually play AoC, you will probably like it for the first 50 levels.

p.s. Yes I played it in the begining and Ive also tried it in the last 6 months and it pretty much hasnt changed that much.

Youre lucky its only 45 cents. For most people its around $1. But youre right...I have never seen another mmo...located here in the states or abroad make my bank charge me an extra fee for some international garbage....I take that back, Dark and Light pulled the same thing. Things that make yah go...hmmmmmmmmm.

I played vg for about 2 hours a few months back durring a soe "try b4 you buy" marketing campagne. I saw a total of 5 other people and the game was horrible. Im not sure what was worse...eq2 or vg. I made it through 5 hours of eq2 before I had enough.
How anyone can play either game is beyond me. In todays society there is no way either game will be around in 5 years.

Didnt say that. You asked why people would be angry with AV and simply answered it. Before a company boast its greatness maybe they ought to make sure their shite works. Just saying is all. Hacking will happen and in a pvp MMO it will happen more often than not because for all their banter about hardcore this and that, most of the crowd cant hack it without them.

DF fans are pros at moving the goal post, putting up strawman arguments, ignoring established and supported facts, and changing the topic. They will do (and have done) a complete 180 and contradict something they've said before if necessary - sometimes in the same thread. The only consistency is that their arguments will always, 1000% of the time, be in defense of DF/AV. Always.

They are living in a world of self-imposed denial, believe their game is the most stable one on the market, believe that by any objective means, it's a huge success, believe the only launch issues it had was with the online shop, believe DF is the only MMO to have mass PvP, clan/guild politics, use of battle strategies, sieging... and on and on.

They're in their own little world, with all the doors and windows locked down tight.
They've eschewed the standards all other MMOs are held to, and replaced them with their own. Those standards are fluid and ever-changing... easily altered or removed should a circumstance arise where they no longer favor DF.

Constructive criticism is dismissed as "trolls and haters bashing the game". People who've actually made the effort to buy the game during one of their "sales windows", and are playing are thrown to the wolves if they dare criticize it.

In their world, there are two types of people:
1. Those who think DF is the best MMO, created by the best MMO developers around and have no criticism of the game at all.
2. Trolls and Haters.

That's it. No gray area.

So... Yeah... 

Trying to reason with or explain yourself to one of them will inevitably end in you trying to think of yet another way to get it through their skull as they hop from one foot to the other and back again at each turn. Analogies won't get through (they'll take the analogies literally). Hard and supported facts won't get through (they ignore them). Speaking as though to a 2nd grader won't get through (minds closed too tightly)

If they ever get this game fixed, I might have to check it out.

If youre in to roleplay then Starsider is your choice. If youre into pvp then Bloodfin is where you should go.

Their studio is in the same county in which I live. I actually have been in their studio and saw programers and artists working on HJ. There was quite a few people working on it also. They even have (or had) a pool table in their break room. I will have to take a drive by and see if they are still in the same building as they were last year.

A market ripe for the taking? Or a genre played out, and not worth 5 years of effort due to every one waiting to jump on and attack.
Can you name me one game this year that will not be attacked again? TCoS is ready for some major hate against Acclaim, Champions? people are ready to call it a WoW clone in tights? Aion? another Asian MMO.
So wishing a companys failure because they tried to use forward looking tech and tried to change how combat was done and introduced some minor changes to how quests are presented will give everyone complaining one thing...

23m came from the fourth quarter! At this rate they wont last another 4 months.

Something has to give. They are either going to have to sell AoC and try to get their other projects off the ground or sell the other projects and lay off the staff that is working on them.

With the subs under 100k (estimates are at 70k), funcom cannot keep both projects going and stay in business. They simply dont have the capitol. I bet they keep AoC and sell whatever virtual property they have in the other projects to keep AoC alive.
