some of the press suggested that they couldn't really see the 3D.

the cons of the 3D is that there is only one layer so I don't see how it would looke extra 3D (I could be wrong), and you will probably have to hold or tilt the DS to different angles to get the most out of the 3D during gameplay

yeah it's gimmicky but nintendo has proven to do well with most gimmicks. the wii for instance. the first ds with the touch screen

my motivation for getting the 3DS is because my limited edition Zelda DS Lite broke recently. The top screen is black with vertical color lines going through it when I turn it on.

even if the 3D gets boring or distracting you can turn off the 3D and play all the non-3D DS games

 That's not practical reasoning.  Simply showing sympathy is not going to satisfy the Muslims who want Sharia Law to be imposed on the United States.

We just pulled the last of our combat troops out of Iraq proving that we did not come to conquer but to set free.  And the Iraqi people have been governing themsleves for years now.  But that's not good enough to convince the jihadists.  To them we are still the "Great Satan" and worthy only of being conquered.  Do think saying, "Let's be friends" will appease them?

They will say "Let's be friends" only after we are bowing down to Mecca five times a day (or is it six?).
