Yes they do. Its just a shame they work on Rift instead of a more worthwhile game.

 

in this age of mmo's, worthwhile games are one in a million. I'm glad, they are here at trion fixing,making their game better for the overall crowd and not a niche game.

it makes sense monetarily, so not surprising they will add consoles to the list. I'm happy for blizzard, they need another shot at consoles after SC was terrible in its console port, and them canceling SC:ghost.

so people want to spend 6-11months trying to get to max lvl in mmos?

Imo its a good thing to westernize a game, people have different tastes.

To be honest why is anyone getting worked over this anyways, bigger crowds brings in bigger development money.

the way cata went, MOP will be here sooner than a year from now. Hopefully spring time.

Death Knights were added for both the Alliance and the Horde because they're a hero class. Pandarens are not really heroes of either factions but a neutral race meant as an "easter egg" champion in the Warcraft Universe.

Ogres and Nagas IMHO should've been added first. The whole Pandaria should've been added as a portion of a bigger expansion. Players should not be able to just click on their portrait in character creation screen and start playing as Pandaren monks in the first day of going live.There should be an epic quest involved to activate Pandarens as a playable race that is not given by Mr.ObviousNPC sitting in front of you the moment you enter the game. Pandarens starts as monks and later "learn" other class proficiencies through epic quests. For example, warrior epic quests should be added if a player wants to be a Pandaren warrior etc etc...

Current playable faction races should also be given epic quests to learn how to be Monks. Keep the old talent trees for old classes and the new tree for Monks only.

Did Blizzard learn anything from the Death Knight's addition at all?

players now a days want instant gratification, so questing for a new playable race is pushing it. Its a wait and see expansion, since it is WOW it will do massively well. We dont know all of the WOW plans, they may add those races in the next expac, we just dont know.

Blizzard only has about 5 million subs in NA and the EU.

 

That aside, as someone who played WoW since late vanilla, I am disapointed and this latest X-pac and with SWTOR coming up I know for a fact Blizzard can't do nothing short of scrapping this panda crap and going for an emerald dream x-pac in order to keep me around.

 

Even if SWTOR isn't all that how many people are going to go back to an asian based game? I can get that for free.

Suppose the 3 million number is correct, just for the sake of argument. Were all 3 million from US / EU ?  What is really telling is that if one game picked up what left from WOW it would at the least double more likely more than double their playerbase whereas a 1 million loss to Blizz is less than 10% of their playerbase.  Point is, WOW isnt going anywhere no matter how badly some want it to.  What we are seeing here is the same thing we saw with every xpac Blizz releases, players whine and haters cheer for the downfall of WOW which has yet to happen.  Then players buy the xpac and continue to play and the haters wait for the next tidbit they can latch onto to predict the end of the evil Blizz empire.

I am not saying that WoW is going to shut down, but that it won't have the millions it had in the west when TOR releases.

 

In BC and WOTLK we had two iconic villians, one iconic race, one well thought out race in hindsight, and an iconic class added plus two entire continantes.

In Cata we had one Iconic race added, a really bad ass race added, and a cool earth shattering villian.

In MOP we get pandas...

we get "pokemon" too remember, and the monk class. A new talent system, a faction clash and the pandarian continent. Pandas arent a bad idea especially since they are a part of the Wow universe, sure they dont look bad ass, sure its not the run of the mill extreme evil looking villian, but WOW does need to expand its audiance. We all know as gamers, games need to adapt to the playerbase culture and the likes of their bigger audiances. I'm just happy for the moment, WOW hasnt gone the expac route of everquest, 1 every 3-6 months, just so they can get more money out of that franchise.

Even if it is "asian based game" at least it will be QUALITY not like the F2ps out there. Even then, it will garner a bigger playerbase, since some people do like the asian theme.  Personaly myself if its good enough quality game play its worth picking up, I hope Swtor does well.

To me absolute worst mmo is Anarchy online.

well ,cant say its a tired attemp at a race, pandaren has always been one of the races people wanted. I'm very surprised wow copy pasted Pokemon to the tooth, and i hope they get hurt in the wallet by Nintendo, a stolen idea is stolen.

EA wont step in to fill shoes at Bioware until their games flop, or until they dont meet shareholders demand. 1 we should blame both companies if the game fails, 2. only reason fans blameActivision if blizzard  does bad is because Activision does run the show.

It's not a matter of being naive. It's realiziing these companies are going to do what they damn well please as far as item malls regardless. Nothing you or I aor anyone on this site can do about it. Gamerdom isn't organized enough to "form a union" and pressure them not to. So, it's going to happen.

There have only been two real times that grassroots pressure's effects were shown. The first is with SWG and the NGE. If they had of instead tried to fix the games issues instead of changing it drastically, SOE would probably be in a position to renew their contract with LA as the game would have more subscribers than it has now. Not saying it would be competing with WoW for subs, but it would be more profitable.

 

The other is with Blizzard and the RealID system they wanted to try. gamers spoke loud and clear (because it affected them all in a real way...ta da!, now everyone knows your real name, have some of that pie). This cash shop idea doesn't affect the same number of gamers in the same way as the RealID thing did. I doubt there will be any significate pressure then to not do it.

of course, we as gamers should let our money speak louder than words, but to many of us it wont. This will just turn into a big mess if it keeps going , but many of us wont see it as a mess, 'since it works". Shame, you would think they would care about giving a great product without competing with real money. Seriously, i wish we as gamers, let Activision know how we feel, by not buying any of their games for the next 2 years so they can see, they cant milk us dry.
