Game

• XP Curve Adjustment: Enemy XP values (and Influence/Infamy dropped) have been increased across nearly all levels. The size of the increase directly relates to datamined leveling speeds for characters, so levels where characters have found themselves ‘stuck’ or ‘slowed’ will have enemies of that level’s XP increased more than other levels. Enemy Levels with the greatest increase in XP rates are: 13 to 20, and 36 to 50. Other levels have had smaller, but still significant, XP and Inf. adjustments. This may mean that characters will find it impossible to do ‘all’ the content of a given level range before outleveling it.
• Debt incurred for being defeated has been lowered by 20% across all levels.

In this game, it's better to have a balanced character.

At low levels, I'd recommend going attack, so that you kill, and therefore level faster.
Once you get SOs, start balancing out your character.

Note: All brutes are squishy at low levels, there's no escaping this.

Go back to your regen scrapper.
Scrappers are the most straightforward class to solo.

Others can too, but they usually bloom late or have a few vulnerabilities.

Kind of. Not really.

(Note: I've played CoH for a long time, I've only experienced Perfect world from youtube videos...)
Its technologically superior to CoH.
CoH's face/body sliders are simplistic compared to Perfect World...

However, what happens when you get in-game...
All the newbies have the same 'starter' clothes.
You don't get the 'cool' gear until you level up or raise enough money.
(And can you change your avatar after creation?)

Another point is that in most MMOs, everyone in a particular level range looks the same, because they all wear the 'most effective' gear.
I guess, Perfect world is a bit better in that respect because they have 'social wear'.

Anyway in CoH...
- Apart from a few costume items (wings, rocket boots, capes etc.), you can look how you want at any level and without spending much money.

- You can wear what you want, without sacrificing effectiveness.
ie. There's no stats vs. looks trade-off.

- It may not be as detailed, but there are a wider range of looks.
Robot, ninja, pirate, S&M freak, business-man, rock star...
(However, I do agree that Perfect world might well have a wider range of medieval looks.)

Silly question, but do you have a DVD drive?

If its really a bad disc, don't worry...
You'll just have to download the game with the updater.

All the enemies in PvE are the same difficulty as before, and no that's not going to change anytime soon.
So, you don't have to craft or use the auction house.
Just ignore the salvage and recipes and sell them at normal NPC stores.

It adds more options and depth to a game that was lacking in them.
And compared to other MMOs, CoX crafting is still pretty simple.

Try setting the sound to 'Compatibility' mode.
That made a world of difference for me.
