Level 14 and AERIG...where to hunt?
Round Table Pub (General) « Dark Age of Camelot 9/14/09 6:29:42 AM
I went to wilton to hunt. It was completely empty (everyone is on their ywain chars).
The mobs are few and far between from what I've seen so far. Is there a higher concentation of mobs in a particular spot in the battlegrounds? |

How do you get to these battlegrounds? |

If I have the beta client already, do you suppose I have to re-download and pay the fee?
I want to see if the new RAM I got will run this POS.
Can someone send me a key? xemeo@yahoo.com

From UO to AoC: The Devolution of the MMORPG
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/15/08 8:00:29 PM
OP: Joined 2005, first post ...now! Nice restraint man.
I, like OP, started my true MMO experience with UO. Unless you count Diablo 1 as an MMO...some people do. I think a lot of people latch onto that first great immersive world that they fall into. I've played almost all the other big name MMOs as they came out, and I still fantasize about UO at times.
Other games DO have good things...they just get changed or the bad outweighs the good. Shadowbane was good in theory! It was just soo....laggy and buggy. EQ was OK, but I never got into raiding...that's why so many people got hooked I think. AC was awesome as hell! There was just too much afk leveling and the need to constantly grind to keep up with people to compete...I remember the first few weeks on Darktide. THOSE were just as intense as UO Pvp. SWG was good for awhile. My rig couldn't run it well at the time and I got into it late. But we all know the story there. AC2 was a sad sad affair. Anarchy and FFXI just felt soooo...cloned. I recently gave up WoW after playing on and off these last few years with brief forays into the other MMOs that have come out since then...vanguard, eq2, lotro, ect... I played AoC beta and didn't get that hook I wanted.
I guess I'm just waiting for WAR. I think I give up on the vaporware (you true UO fans know what title Im talking about) to come out.
Good luck ex-UOers. Old school Great Lakes, signing off.

Same, I filled everything out and I'm waiting for that 2nd email. It's been about 45 minutes. |

I was also blessed with a winning ticket. First contest I've won online I think. |

I'll be online Andrew. If your first toon is HowHigh I'll /who and find you. I think most of my friends are rolling aelf scouts to start out with but we might be tempted to roll some SD scouts if you can promise awesome PvP and template help. (Im rusty!) |

If you read the SBG forums you would know that the developers know all about the state of their game. Read some of the patch notes. I expect good things.
I beta tested the game, so I knew all about the bugs that we encountered upon release. It wasn't as much of a shock to me. I still went out and bought two copies so my friend who was overseas at the time could use one of the CD keys to start up an account with us. So yea, I spent $100 + $15/month at the start and got several characters to r6 before all my friends couldn't take the game anymore and quit.
I personally, never used the link that is on my website. I was told it was a better alternative to fileplanet (which is what I used) so I included it. Sorry that I can't be of more help. |

The game is click to move, not WASD. So what? So was Diablo 2, and that rocked. If you can get past the first few minutes of having no idea what to do and get accustomed to the UI the game is a lot of fun IMO. My a few people from my World of Warcraft guild are planning on rerolling tomorrow when the servers come up. I got them started a week or so ago before they took the servers down to remove all the things that the OP was bitching out: hacks, dupes, and bugs. I'm sure they wont take care of EVERYTHING, however, I expect improvements.
This is not a PvE game. This is a strategic PvP nation on nation warfare game. You roll a new character once every week or so to test out new builds or to counter your enemies tactics. The characters are so customizable that it is insane. I can think of at least 10 builds of warrior that are all totally unique and have different roles. Expect to get to 50+ the first day. Expect to powerlevel your other characters. Expect to get killed and all your money looted once you hit 20+. Expect to be paranoid while farming. Expect smack talk. Expect rivalries. Expect your mouth to get you and your guild into trouble. Expect politics between guilds to be intense and meaningful. Expect a shoddily planned city to get destroyed faster. I love this game. I agree that in the past some of the bugs and lag made it unplayable. Let us hope that the reboot allows time for these things to be fixed.
Here is a link to my unofficial "starting shadowbane" guide.
If the downloader link doesnt work just get it from the shadowbane main page. Good luck and hope to see you in game. |

So if he was in beta at one time there is NO reason he would have lost his spot? |
|
|
Ok, so my guildmate says he was in a beta in july 2007. He said he played for abit, then stopped. I called him out b/c he's a frequent liar and asked him if he had beta to log on, say my name and SS it. He said he cannot get on to his beta account anymore because you have to write a poem about the gods to be in beta now. Basically I need info to prove or disprove his story.
Thanks in advance |

Just wondering if anyone played pre-trammel on Great Lakes?
Britannia Tavern (General) « Ultima Online 3/09/08 11:55:06 AM
I played GL pre-trammel. My chars were Xemeo and Xem and I was in TKE for the majority of my newer days and I was later in DSS and D0C to fight SiN. |

Sounds good.
Now for that buddy key... |
|
|
I'd say Im looking for more melee oriented with a sprinkling of healing on the side.
Is that fails I'll just pick the #1 least played class. Which would that be?
Still waiting and hoping for a buddy key BTW. |
|
|
lol@ myself BTW. I just noticed my join date is all the way back in '03 and I've posted 3 (now 4) times total. Im a huge lurker. |

Im from the central US. Thanks for the reports on the servers. I dont think I'd want blood mage, I really want to stay away from offensive casters in this game (atleast I think!) How does disciple solo? How do they work in groups? If Im grouped will I be expected to be the dedicated healer, or will my group want me to heal and DPS? |
|
|
I just quit WoW and Im very very strongly considering going out and just getting Vanguard. I'd love to find a buddy key so Im holding back hoping someone sends one my way (stephenliddle@gmail.com)!!
Either way, I was wondering why the melee classes seem to get the shaft in vanguard? I'd love to play a melee/healer hybrid. What's my best bet for this? What's the best server population wise? How big a difference will race make? |
