Wow - major sceptisims. Will try to give som reasons. 1) Where are they getting this information? Ok, have you heard of "register user"? You have to put in your sex and your date of birth at the same time as you put in your creditcard or game card. Granted, some people will lie on their birthdate just to do it, but most dont. Also some 16 year old will get their hands on the game and lie when registring. Now, remember when you used to lie on your age? Did you ever say, 42 when you were 16? No, you said 18 (or 21). So had there been a large number of immature teens in this game the average age would have been lower. So how do i explain the behaviour of the morons inside the game? Is it that hard to beleive that a 29 year old will behave like a spoild litle s***thead inside the game? Try going into a regular bar and discuss politics or religion with the customers. Try arguing for the opposite of what the majority of the crowd belives in. You will se grown family men behave like huge fools. I belive that the average age is correct and that a large part of the players are antisocial fools. |

Average age of AoC player is 29 years old Taken from 2q financial report http://www.funcom.com/funcom/frontend/files/CONTENT/Funcom_Q208_presentation.pdf Ok, since we "cannot" include EVE in our estimates, how about Second Life vs WAR or LOTRO. Both have more "users" on xfire than Second life, but we know that second life have more paying customers. Also. i believe Second Life clients are more social than xfire users..... |

Compare different games on xfire and you will see that there is a tendency towards games that cater to the hardcore crowd.
EVE online is very popular on xfire, Second life is very unpopular. EVE has about a fraction of the ammount of players of Secondlife. Still it is tremendously more populare on xfire. From this you can conlude that xfire players tend to like certain type of games, FPS and other hardcore games.. (BTW i know Secondlife isnt a "game", still it has "users") |

Originally posted by Azrile You are quite right about early reviews only reflecting Tortage. This was VERY missleading wen playing the game in full as Tortage is the starter area. Eventhough it is more creative and fun than other starter areas in MMOs it i still only a very small part of the game. Now since it was soo god (and Tortage is great) a lot of peopel got dissapointed when they got further into the game. Bugs, missing content, etc. Basically shit compared to Tortage. There is now a general oppinion amongst AoC players that AoC is great untill you reach your 70s. After that it stops. This will be adressed in the next patch. When the game was released they had ok content to about lvl 40 if I am not mistaken. I played Beta, early access and then stopped. Rerolled about 2 months ago and had a great time in Tortage. I really enjoyed it again. It is a great place to play, still you have to away from it for a while before enjoying it again. |

Originally posted by Jackdog That could be possible because people have more time off to play. Just like weekend figure are higher than weekday figures and patch day figure are lower. My interpretation of the XFire trend is that the bleed has slowed pretty much but still not entirely stopped, and the population certainly has not grown. The fanbois should be glad that the downward trend is slowing at least. You should read the stats again Both xfire and alexa shows that the bleed has stopped entirely. It has flattend out completely. No bleed and no growth. That is the situation for the last month or so. The forum posts about the game tells a story of a much improved game that has its pros and cons. The "instance haters" will bash the game, the fanbois will glorify it. The truth is that it is now a game that works and will maintain a certain playerbase. |

Regarding Xfire. I have been following the figures closely last 2 months since I am a shareholder (since october) AoC has stabilised with about 900+ players during week days and 1000+ players during weekends. It has fallen on the "ranking" from about 50 to 58.. However this is due to other games becoming populare, not AoC loosing players. I am looking forward to seeing the xfire figures during these holidays. Guessing we will see 1200+ players, |

I must agree with OP. AoC may not bee "next gen" but it has improved on the other MMOs and gives you a better total than other games out there. |

I must admit its been a long while since I played WOW. And I loved it when it first came out. However WOW has that "grinding" feeling which i hate, and I havent got that with AoC yet (Beta) So, yes, AoC is better than wow simply because it improves on wow without copying it. |

Could anyone please tell me what the price for a subscriber of WOW is in China? Do they pay their personal subscription like we do in the west or do the netcafes pay it for them and they pay a fee to the netcafe? Thanks |
