Vanguard felt more like EQ1, then EQ2 does. Atleast to me, but I only played EQ1 a short time.

I dont think you would want the whole population to go villain or hero specific servers. That would eliminate PvP or Rikti Co-op play.

I was part of one of the biggest guild on an AOC pve server. We had 350 people. Presently around 3 people are active. Not kidding, and its sad really.
The first 20 levels are great, but it plays EXACTLY like a single player game. After that, you go to a new map every 10 levels, and people mostly solo. I'm not going into the horrible decision making of rthe developers since launch, but the community overal has been dissapointed. Bottom line, AOC doesnt seem to have longevity necessary for people to stay into the MMO.

Freedoms definatly the most populated. Guardian seems to be doing good Villain side.

This is horrible. Every game company looks at all the games out there and trys to put their own creative spin on things already learned. The money NCsoft will have to come up with, will take away from improving and making games. I hope they COUNTER SUE! but loser Worldcom probably is already broke, and thats why they are suing.

Theres sewer levels in Villains too, its all random.
In the next update (maybee 4 months from now?) you will be able to create your own missions I think.

Mako Tougher than Ghost Widow? Say What?!
Paragon City Hall (General) « City of Heroes 12/31/08 7:31:33 PM
my experience. Mako was handled pretty well. Ghost Widow sent several groups to the hospital.

When everyone is super...no one is (potential player question)
Paragon City Hall (General) « City of Heroes 12/31/08 7:30:10 PM
I dont think people would pay a $15 fee to play as a "normal dude" running around the street.

if your going Ninja Mastermind, I recomend choosing between Dark or Storm as your secondary. As for Stalker, the secondary of Ninjitsu is pretty good. I would wait a long time before taking toggle powers though (it drains your endurance). Primarys that are good, dark, ninja sword, for single target damage. Other primarys are good too. you both should try the leveling pact system thats new. before level 5, right click on your friend and choose leveling pact.

To the original poster. I played AoC for a few months. Honestly, it should of been a single player game. It plays just like one and I heard that comment ALOt when I was playing. If you want a month of entertainment, try AoC, but you will quickly see that it does not have depth. WAR I cannot personally comment on, but I can say I've known a few to play it and like it. But 2 months later, their not playing it now. I've been playing City of Heros/Villains. It is my "stop gap" mmo. The one I always come back too. When something new comes out, I play that for a while, and then go back to it. Its always steadily improving too. I recomend you try that or sounds like you might like Vanguard.

Please make character development more complex
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/13/08 12:51:12 AM
When I said "complex" I wasnt thinking of "difficult". I was thinking of having alot of variations, details, and choices on your character. Having differentiation and being ablle to improve your character through some work, makes things more interesting and fun.

Please make character development more complex
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/28/08 11:39:07 AM
Complexity in an MMO keeps things interesting. It keeps your attention Long-term. When Star Wars Galaxies "dumbed down" the character complexity and development, it became an 'arcade feel' which kills any desire to develop the character and play the game long term. Funcom should of learned from Anarchy Online. It had implants, and skills and alot of stuff to do when you level up. Instead they went a different way with AoC and they are having problems with long term subscribers. I just dont want to see every level 10 Jedi the exact same. I guess thats my point. agree or no?

all this is a very early stage of graphics, but I am so relieved they are going away from the cartoony version.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/02/08 1:07:09 PM
I really enjoyed those two Vampire games, excellent story writing and characters, with interesting classes.
I would like to see an MMO, as a cross between thsoe games and the movei Underworld. You could have NPCs as the humans. They would be in the majority and equally hating Vampires and Werewolves. Then you can have the two underworld clans (vamps and Lycan) fighting it out. PvP with wolves vs. vamps. The possiblitys would be endless.

The grass and flowers move around. Even flags and banners sway in the wind! Water ripples as you pass through it. Stuff really flows, and player animations are just awe inspiring.

I've seen Vanguard and AoC at max settings. Vanguard has impressive environmental graphics and draw distance, with great terrain and an awesome looking sky. The models however are pretty plain, and very very stiff. The animations just arent done very well. AoC is actually on par with Vanguards great environmental graphics. But AoCs animations are head and heals better. The models are much better with the detail of the faces too. The grass moves more lifelike and the water, although very nice in Vanguard, is just the best. Theres some areas of high grass and flowers moving around thats just so cool in AoC. The water though, WOW. The big thing is the animations. When you jump straight up, side to side, while moving in Vanguard, the upper body is pretty stiff and looks the same with the legs moving a bit. In Aoc, the body shifts around, looks different while running, compared to standing still and jumping, moving side to side. WOW. its just amazing!

AoC does NOT feel like WoW AT ALL. Infact, I would venture to say, AoC has a VERY original feel too it. I'm not going to get into why.

Yes. PvP on a PvP server is 'kill everyone you see at all times'. This includes when your questing or see NPCs. PvP on a PvE server is organized PvP. It has capture the skull, last man standing, drunkin brawling. But more importantly, has the guild vs guild PvP in the Battlekeep zones.

If you like to deathmatch in FPS games, you might like the PvP server. If you like counterstrike, or team fortress, then try PvE. There is a dirty little secret. PvE server has PvP gameplay in it.
