Basing your opinion on what you read in these forums is a BIG mistake. Its a flamefest here and you will rarely find any honest or helpful or positive  info here. Its mostly good for shits and giggles.

There are 1000's of reasons to quit aoc--- but being level 80 and crying over a level 50 instance that isnt worth doing from the start isnt really one of them--- if i wanted to quit i could find some real reasons like the rest of you guys-- quit aoc to troll these forums woot woot

Btw they supposedly fixed your instance so u can wipe away your tears now

This is a tuff one---- its like comparing a basketball game to a football game-yea their both sports that involve a ball- but other than that there isnt a whole lot in common

The only thing i would find compareable- would be quality at launch

Im hearing that WAR's beta is looking a lil more polished than AOC's was at the same time before launch--but on the flip side im hearing theres still quite a bit of work to be done before a successful launch can be had by WAR--

my 3 buddies in beta are all 3 CLAIMING there will be a push back to release date coming cuz theres a lot of work to be done---but hey some companies have some awesome developers/programmers so there may not

These games are really two totally different games focusing on 2 totally different elements of an mmo game

Im playing AOC now and enjoy it so far---- Im also looking forward to WAR for a different playstyle

Ok I understand what your saying but when a game comes out people expect the game to be good or close to perfect not tons of bugs and problems.  The reason why people are so pissed is because this game came out way to early if Funcom would have waited and polished the game more instead of saying we going to fix it later there wouldn't be people complaining about this game suck. I mean come on what company will release a incomplete game where your high level classes have nothing to do.  Want me to tell you what company a company that’s trying to get a quick buck and don't give a damn about the people that play the game. That is why people are pissed and talking bad about this game that is why you see 9/10 topics on this forum is negative. Look at EAMythic that is a company that listen to the people many beta testers told them that  the game wasn't ready and they pushed it back again and again. Because EAMythic want to be the best not just out for the quick buck. 

 

If by judging by the population on servers-these haters/pissed people are such a tiny part of the community--the people who like the game are busy playing the haters are here posting thats why it looks like 9 out 10 post are hate posts

As long as people are talking, be it good or bad Funcom is doing something right because they have peoples intrest---its when people stop talking at all they need to start worrying

Look funcom has you here posting about a game you dont seem to like instead of playing one you do-- so they have pulled you away from another game to focus on thiers

People who truly undestand the life cycle of mmo games will enjoy aoc and all of its TEMPORARY FLAWS--If you hate a game because it has issues yet to be fixed then you have not played any mmo at release-EVERY MMO HAD FLAWS/BUGS/MISSING CONTENT at release-- thats just how things go-if you are one who sticks with it you will be rewarded in the end-- if you cant deal then your banished to being a hater in some forum-congrats

You're completely clueless.
The "it works for me" excuse is the most retarded thing one can ever say. It alas often used as an excuse by developers to ignore some issues.

There's a lot of factors involved with something working or not than the raw computing power that your machine possess. There's a lot of crap in PCs nowadays, coming from a bunch of different vendors and that can interact in a bunch of different ways.
During AoC development, we had specific builds who'd BSOD with specific graphic card and drivers. Sometimes when the engine misuses directx, it can make the driver crash, or it can just do things in a certain way that expose a latent driver bug.

It's not quite merely an issue of "lol your rig must suck".

(also /facepalm at "the game's only been out two weeks", which will become "the game's only been out three weeks", then "the game's only been out one month", and so on so forth, ad infinitum)

My point wasnt really directed at the OP in particular but the whiners who claim the game is broke in some way shape or form.

My point was 9 times out 10 the problem is on the persons side not on funcoms --I would be willing to bet that the problem is somewhere in the OP's comp,whether it be a setting or something very simple to fix or maybe a combo of settings that he is just over looking---usually the easiest fixes are the hardest to find

I do agree that there are some problems with this game,but people  who expect something to work 100% out of the box with no flaws are ridiculous. NO mmo ever has been released perfect and it will never happen

Yes it has been just over a week,and they have been releaseing patches every few days to fix things-- but they can only work so fast--i think your the one who is clueless  and you have unreal expectations from developers thinking they will have this game running flawless in a week

Its going to be a long process of patches to fix some things- and as they fix some things others could mess up so they have to go back and release another patch to fix what the last patch messed up

If you played mmos you would know this--90% of the whines and rants are unjustified and exaggerated--they come from people with unreal expectations like you !! 

How many times have i heard- People payed money so it should work out of the box- and for most people i know it did - so if your in the minority that it didnt---- ii would be more than likely the problem lies on your end--whether it be a gimp rig or some setting you have set wrong--

I think people like the OP are very few --- most people i see having all these 500 or so problems with the game are trying to run it on out dated rigs-- and it would make no sense at all for funcom to make a game geared up for old rigs- they are suppose to move foward and you can expect system req. to become higher and higher as newer games are released-- so people with old rigs eventually get left behind--- welcome to the world of pc gaming

I have 5 real life friends that play aoc and any performance issues they have had were fixed by adjusting something in thier options - and usually a very simple fix at that

AOC is very demanding on computers and if your HD is crammed full of crap--drivers arent up to date---not enuff memory---video setting are out of whack-you have trojans or some other crap-have a gimpy cpu--these are your faults not AOC-- i think everyone knew this was gonna be a game that was very demanding and if you bought it not knowing then you should put a lil research into what your spending your money on--- prob should have waited on a 7 day buddy pass

 what do you expect them to do?? hi johnny we have found the reason why your having problems and were gonna make a special patch just for you-cmon-

- i have over 1000 people in my aoc guild and not 1 person had these problems after the last patches--this sounds like it your own individual problem-

I was told by a guildy that they fixed the TOS exploit-- if i was mis-informed then excuse me and if you wanna go make a video with your fraps to show how right you are go for it. i was misinformed not lieing but do what you will with it.

My point was nearly all of your "Gripes" are things that need to be fixed and the game has been out 5 days.

No i dont play pvp and i stated that in my post- thats why i didnt mention pvp serverplay cuz i dont care about it at all

You post was misleading and exaggerated-and some of your examples used--like nobles distrcit- was simply not true

it does have few,imo ,minor issues ( the crashing in field of the dead does suck ) but the rest are minor non-gamebreaking issues--traders will be coming back- sieges can wait anyway--prob like 4% of the population is at the point of the game to really enjoy and participate in sieges anyway

Just remember the game has been out 5 days ( not counting ea) 2 of which were holiday weekend days-they will patch it--but give em a chance

siege warfare is mia ???--guilds have to build cities to have sieges-game hasnt been out a week im sure a feww guilds have done it but its only been like 5 days since release

patches are coming to slow ?? game hasnt been out a week

economy isnt working- it did in beta but got glitched around release ,patch will come but it hasnt been a week yet

tos exploit was fixed in 4 days

field of the dead  performance issue is being addressed in next patch- but game hasnt been out a week

i did every quest in nobles district but 1 and that 1 quest works for some and some it doesnt- so where this zone is all buggy and broke i dont get ya-defense of beauty or something like that was the 1 quest

there is a 20 sec immunity on my server  you get after death and zoning

as for the pvp stuff i dont know havent done it

but over all there are a few problems- none that handicap playing at all for me- and im sure things will be fixed with patches to come-but geez u gave them 5 days 2 of which are part of a holiday weekend to have patched and fixed things

as for performance you cant really hate on them if you dont have a rig bad enuff to run it-- i dont either- but i run on medium just fine and depending on zone i can run high settings- and my rig is nothing special at all--

arent we suppose to move forward ??????? why would somebody make a game that is recommended to run on old rigs ????

give the game time- if you really do like it- give it time before you critique it so much- no game ever was released flawless

the game is meant to play and feel like a single player console rpg  1-20 per dev comments------ 1-6 ish is really linear--10-20 a lil less linear---  after 20 its not  really linear anymore

1-20 is also like a big tutorial-if you can make it to 19 and do your final destiny quest and leave tortage- the game gets alot better and you will be so glad you left tortage

at 40+ im getting good blue items from random trash mobs--- and in single group dungeons we were getting 2-4 good drops per run--- and they came from bosses

and crafting supplies are got from harvesting and some other are dropped from random mobs- like leather from skinning

Secondly,the FIRST thing my card said was GO TO http:/register.ageofconan.com and enter your key. So when i read that i immediatly went and registered.----- again if you would have done what the card says you would have known----  it didnt say " Wait til the last minute and register" either.

Thirdly, the only thing you were PROMISED by pre-ordering was in-game itmes.  The EA was an exclusive limited time offer which WAS NOT promised but by preordering ,you had a chance to get in not a reserved spot. Again YOUR BAD ,you would have known if you even looked into it a lil tiny bit.

Fourth, its called a marketing promotion. Any smart company uses this strategy to promote thier selves and thier products.

LAST---- i agree that it never said on the card " limited to first # of players to register"-- YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THAT

But on the other hand i dont remember seeing the word PROMISE anywhere on the card either

i would say YOUR BAD for not looking into  and researching something you were willing to spend money on

would you buy a car without reading the fine print- i think not

 i found early levels as a guardian alot harder without a polearm--esp cause most of it your solo and fighting multiple mobs---its alot easier to hit all mobs each swing then to fight them one after each other---i am loving using my pole arm and will prob only switch to 1hd and shield if im group/raid tanking a single target-the rest of my game will be spent swinging my polearm

i normally dl at 900+kbs sometimes quite a bit higher- my speed for this averaged 180-280 kbs

but not to be rude if its taking you that long sounds like you need better isp---yea its slow but a WEEK ?-sounds like most of the problem is on your end

when the patcher is working has been real hit and miss since the early access download-as of 3:50pm est time its down and has been for most of the day. Just keep trying you will catch it up working sometime today or early tomorrow before EA starts. Im also sure if you patched today for release you will have more patches to come-they seem to add more everyday,so patch everyday you can before realease so release day you have a minimum amout to download--Good Luck!!!!!!!

theres only 12 classes and i saw loads of all of them in beta-none were "rare" so to speak

12 classes and tons of people- you will have to wait til launch for an answer-since everyone was playing everyclass in beta to try em all out

im sure there will be a weak or underpowered class at launch and it will prob be the least played until a class balance patch is released

But like i said i saw lots of every class in beta so thats a hard one---healers are always needed tho :P
