I am not a joiner........ thats is phrase that triggered my memory of the event.

Constant and persistant whining about not enough groups and every time someone offered help by suggesting you join their guild or some guild..... I am not a joiner..... you would say.

The community is very helpful.  We tried to help you.  You kept whining.  We asked you nicely to stop whining.  You didn't.  We got a bit rude in the end because genuine requests for help from other people were being lost in the spam of people who were just trying to get you to.... be quiet.

Hopefully now people will understand why you suffered such strange treatment when the opposite is actually far more common.

Glad you actually did find some good groups since this unfortunate incident.

I still say you should at least TRY joining a guild one day.  Other people actually can run guilds very well too you know.

I decided to check out the expansion for this game having had the original sit on my xbox360 shelf since I bought it a year ago but could not get into it.

Boy do i wish i had stuck with it for a bit longer back then.... It takes a little getting into and thankfully this new expansion has made it a lot easier to get started and therefore hooked.

I think the 360 is the best way to play this game.  There is a much larger playerbase according to the forums and also it all runs really smoothly and looks great for all the players.  The occasional slowdown here and there depending on how frantic things are getting but its mostly 60fps otherwise... very smooth.

With voice chat included when in your party or in your shop and a nice wireless keyboard attached to your 360 you are really spoilt for ways to communicate... having someone pop into your shop to buy something and actually start talking to you while you talk back making the deal.... not seen another game achieve this yet but thanks to the 360 headset its the norm here.

I urge people who are on the fence about this game to look for this game in the 360 bargin bins,  download the expansion and give this a try for a month or two.  I am glad I did :)

Oh but ignore the demo on the xbox marketplace.... its NOTHING like the game anymore as it has not changed at all since the release... that demo put me off playing... I really dont know why they cant update it or something - lol

Games that require actual skill to play and where huge numbers of people can work together to achieve a goal.

Let have more puzzle style mmorpg gaming! - While I am waiting though I think I will log into Puzzle Pirates again and head to the poker tables for a while,  yarr!!!

I had a nice house in UO....That wasnt an instance. EQ2's housing is an instance.
Name three games that housing isnt an instance, besides UO.

I can only name one other, and that's Horizons.

Wurm Online's housing is buildable by the player and not instanced.

Wurm Online allows you to build your own house,  any size you want once you have the skill,  actually on the landscape which you can terraform by digging and droping earth around.  You cut down the trees and make the nails from iron you mine and when you have finished it your house is actually on the landscape covering the ground you build the walls on rather than you needed to 'zone' into it.

Not seen a game do terraforming and building quite like Wurm Online before,  only Second Life allows you more freedom but that is more a sandbox rather than a survival style game like Wurm where you are interacting with the environment learning to feed yourself,  go out hunting and build yourself a place called home.

It's a perfectly valid question.  Many deaf people enjoy playing these games but the move to voice only gameplay is going to cause them many problems in the future if text support is not included.

I didn't like seeing that other post complaining about the billing when they obviously had a very unusual problem.  I really hope this game finally starts getting some of the attention it deserves.

Many good years in development and its overwhelming loved by the people that are playing it.

Having an IQ in the top 10% of the Human race it doesn't seem fair to me that I have to put up with playing games designed for the lower 90%.

It also seems that games like Wow and Guild Wars are targeting the lower 50% as well.... fair enough,  these people need entertaining as well, but lets at least keep some games that are challenging for the upper 50% of the worlds population can't we?

It just doesn't seem fair.

Well I think the game is good fun and well worth the asking price.  There are many things I don't think are worth paying for but I don't tend to waste my time trying to put other people off trying them.

In the end they have a product that is fun for some people and not so fun for others,  like everything else.

Everyone who is remotely interested in this style of game should give it a try and ignore the strange complaints being banded around here as they are clearly by certain ex players who seem to have developed a 'grudge' against the developers or the game or something.

You people are very strange.  I love the game,  its cheap to play and its very impressive what they have managed to achive so far.  So what if the creatures slide around the landscape at the moment? - After a while you fail to notice any problem with that and it has ended up giving the game a unique feel anyway.

I think most of the people who are upset with the game are mostly upset that the beta came to an end along with the 'free ride'.  But the whole thing is so damn cheap to play anyway that even that argument fails to hold much water.

Support the developers and help this game to grow.  The lag problems have been resolved as far as I can see and the graphics can become very impressive on a good machine.  Having said that my old laptop still manages to run this beautifully even if its using the medium graphics settings.

Its trying something different and more challenging than the usual and is a godsend for those of us who like a slower paced survival style game where you are free to make a home out in the wilds on your own or join a village and become part of a community either with pvp on the wild server or in a safer pve environment on the home server.

It's not easy to get started though,  I don't think its supposed to be,  but once you learn the basic survival skills required to keep yourself fed and watered and relitively safe from the wildlife you will be hooked.

Well I was anyway.
