Yeah it's a lil too bright and cheery for me in the morning. I don't particularly like it |

Why do this over and over? You are starting to make us women gamers look bad. We play games, that's it in the nutshell. We don't need a political debate about. I don't need Barbie games, I don't need catered too either. Just give me quality gameplay.

Do you have a game that is infinitely replayable?
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 12/31/07 5:28:12 PM
NWN has always been installed on one of my computers since it's release. I play an occasional mod or two at least a couple times a month. Older games.. Mechwarrior 2 and Quake 2. |

New Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailers.

I'm a huge FF fan BUT to show 90% of the trailer as fmv and not actual gameplay, really turns me off. Don't get me wrong I love the movies but show me actual gameplay so I can at least give a form an opinion on the game. Right now it just looks like a chopped up sci fi movie. |

Running high with AA 16x in DX9 with some dx10 hacks/configs for better graphics on an 8800/640 meg GTS. I really do like the game and feel it's pretty easy on Normal difficulty. I still think the use of Cloak is just too overpowering, almost making you invincible during gameplay.

Headplay(Over the eyes monitor Device) the Real Deal?
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 11/07/07 6:02:14 PM
If they have a no questions asked return policy then go for it, otherwise I'd do a lot of research and read their forums. Negative posts on their forums have been deleted in the past months. Are you going to want to play in stereo 3D? If you are going to play a lot pc games on your visor then you're probably going to want to play in stereoscopic 3D. ATI does not do stereo 3D at all. Right now Nvidia stereo drivers only support the 6x and 7x cards and honestly if your going to get an hmd you'll want to use stereo 3D for much much better immersion. A lot of newer games have to have all the bells and whistles (post processing, blur, hdr) turned off for stereo 3D to work and sometimes it just won't work anyways. Also realize that a 34 degree FOV will give you some tunnel vision in games. You can and will eventually get used it to it but the screen never seems as big as advertised. These displays will never be as crystal clear as your lcd monitor. There can be some distortion on the edges and you seem to realize that from your post. TDVsion is developing a 780p hmd that should be out in 6 to 12 months (when it's done). You might want to wait and see what happens with this one first. It is more expensive than Headplays visor. I guess it all depends on what you expect when you use the visor. It is not true VR as I've tried a couple visors in the past year. It does help immersion and sometimes you do feel like you are 'there' but other times it's like two screens in front of your eyes.

Gods and Heroes: A Talk with Perpetual Entertainment
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/22/07 6:36:32 AM
Well after beta testing G&H and having an abrupt halt of the game, I'm done with PE. This isn't any way to handle community relationships and treat potential customers. I can't imagine there being a large enough audience for STO for even it to be greatly successful. Sure there are Trekkie fans but in this day and age is Star Trek a popular name with the younger generation? |

Originally posted by bezadoWhat??? AC has had seasonal changes since it's birth and they do not last days but at LEAST a month or two, perhap three. It also incorporated most if not all of the continent when I played for two years. How can seasons not be more immsersive... snow on the ground for winter, falling leaves for fall, or flowers in spring. Weather does not necessarily mean season changes as each continent or area may have a different type of atmosphere. Sure you can watch the snow fall in WOW in certain areas or the rain fall in the swamps of some other mmo but that's the regional climate. |

Thanks for that link I was able to post to the thread after logging in and clicking the link provided here. At least I could say my piece and tell my fellow gamers goodbye and thanks. |

I dunno what's going on and I'm in the beta...

Hmm I'd rather see an updated AC engine with better graphics before I see AC2 re-opened *shutters* |

Look up video game convention or gaming conventions, something like that... There are websites out there that list Cons. |

Originally posted by _Shadowmage I stuck around because I orginally liked the game, and I still do to a point, however it has not kept my interest level enough to buy it. The mix of fps/rpg and sci fi is what made me apply for the beta. I'm not saying it's an overly bad game but it won't be ready in October and I really dislike seeing a game with such potential be realeased with such horrible bugs. I do not want it to fail, I want it to succeed because the mmo genre needs some variety. Maybe in a year I'll look into trying it again.
BTW yes i did explore and find Logos. So much could be done with Logos it's a shame that they are just used for skills right now. I do hope that in the future you could combine logos for new skills, sort of like a crafting skill. |

Been in beta since May. It's just plain boring . I love fps and rpgs but the character development is so slim that it just doesn't feel like anything at all. There's just nothing there to separate you from the crowd. Everyone that plays your class will be taking the exact same skills because everyone knows which ones are the best to take and which ones are overall useless. It's sad that there is such a limit (around six per class upgrade/change at 5, 15, 30 etc) If they EVER stop the Bane shooting through walls it would be a miracle. From May till this last patch (uninstalled over Labor Day) I have never seen such blantent ingorance from the devs on this subject. I hope before release they at least fix this awful problem. It causes many untimely deaths and frustration. Another problem is that over half the quests get their location marked on your map. Where's the sense of exploration here? I like good concise directions, not have everything handed to me with a map marker telling me exactly where ABC Cave is. Now once you find the cave, sure it's ok to have a map marker but geez let us use our brains a lil. Chatbox in the upper left corner of the screen is the MOST annoying UI problem I have. Sadly you can't even move the dang thing. Is there any mmo made after 2002 that you can't move the chat box to a comfortable eye level on your screen? None of the UI can be moved, that just sheer laziness on the devs part.

The only kids I ever wanted were .. puppies!
I'm smart enough to know that I don't want to deal with the responsibility than bring an unwanted child into the world. Now if only half the world were as smart as the people replying to this thread. |

California says your dog can't have his balls
Off-Topic Discussion « General Discussion 5/13/07 1:14:00 PM
It IS a problem in a lot of states but this isn't the answer. People are the problem as they need to be more responsible for their pets and better educated in caring for them. In the end they want to punish the animals which is quite sad.

Oweee my eyes. I'm female but no pink for me! I prefer to save my eyes for gaming, thank you very much!

I'm not so sure that's a true HMD but rather a personal theater system. Find out the resolution and the FOV before you buy. Those two factors are pretty important for decent pc gaming.
You can read various reviews on systems here if you already aren't familar with these sites forums.stereovision.net/ www.stereo3d.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi |
