Can 2010 Bioware really make a good MMO ?

OP, you really need to chill. Bioware RPG games have been the most polished and highly rated games of all time. They obviously care about the MMO by pushing the release date back another year. "MMOs used to be about player making their own unique story." Have you not seen any information on the game? You actually make critical decisions by selecting several options for what your character will do. For example: Kill an enemy or make him join your party. That seems like making your own story to me. Most MMOs have a click quest and accept function-which is rather boring. I doubt anyone has read every text quest while leveling but this one doesn't require you to read as much as watch and listen. I have faith that this game will be much better than the trash MMOs we have been given in the last 3 years. |

Honestly, STO has POS written all over it according to MMORPG.com players. I'm not spending a penny on the game. |

Please stop releasing sub-par games.

If fans of this genre don't stop buying trash MMOs that are released too early, we can expect to see more unfinished and over-priced games. |

LOTRO is the most complete game of the 3. |

I just got my order of the WoW magazine and it explains a lot about why people should be excited for the new expansion. First, azeroth will be changed dramatically. Most WoW players will agree that vanilla was the best time in WoW, therefore revisting those lands again on your main should be entertaining. Guild ranking only takes the top 20 people so casual smaller guilds can still compete. There will be PVE and PVP talents for guilds and they will level up by guild members participating in accomplishing the pvp or pve tasks. Also, you'll be introduced to guild talents. For instance, in PVE: you're guild raid will have a Cool down for full raid resurection. They're improving the way people level throughout the world as well. For instance, many people who have leveled more than 3 toons know that you can stay in about 2-3 lands before you have to venture across the world. Not so in the expansion. It will be more conducive for a fluid leveling experience. Of course there is the whole Titan path where at lvl 85 your character will advance further in your own chosen path to further customize the play style of your character. Also, there will be a change in item stats so they won't feel as crowded. attack power, spell power, armor penetration, will be gone along with a few others. They will be put into the basic stats of stre, agil, stamin, ect. For instance-spell power will be automatically integrated with intellegence. They are also going to be making professions a lot more needed. You'll be able to create the best gear for your character that you can't get in a 5 or 10 man dungeon/raid. You'll also be able to change item stats to your playstyle. For instance: You're weapon has 150 stamina and 85 agility. You can erase the stamina and dump it all into agility. Of course there will be new 5 man dungeons and raids and 2 new races. Conclusion-it's an expansion: not a new game. It's got enough for a solid expansion in my opinion. |

Is there any reason why the most successful MMO, World of Warcraft, doesn't have its new expansion pack on the upcoming MMO list? If its on there and I didn't see it, I apologize. |

I have been waiting for nearly four years for this so called, next Gen MMO. Nearly every MMO game I've touched has been a let down to the point of shelving the game after 1-2 weeks of play. MMOs require a monthly payment. Granted, it is only 15 bucks on average, but if an MMO doesn't live up to it's expectations, I generally never come back unless something dramatic occurs. That leads me to my question: Where the hell are the next generation MMOs? I seriously don't want to wait til I have kids and raise them to their teenage years before I see a next gen. /Rant. Excuse my post...I'm just rather fed up with waiting year after year after year........ |

Hello fellow Gamers, I really hope everyone is following the economic crisis--I'm not sure how you could not. These are scary times and we haven't even felt the worst yet. I predict the Dow will go down to 7000 before we start to regaining our footing (It's currently 9,700). We ARE headed for a full blown recession which will affect everyone in the WORLD'S lives and last for around 5-7 years. I just hope we don't go into a Depression. Here is to hoping our country doesn't collapse and a continuation of better MMOs for all. |

Sadly no. However, I bet sc2 is going to be amazing. They will probably reveal 6-8 units/builds for the zerg |

Nope. Their focus is to bring people BACK not bring NEW people. New servers would just create more ghost towns in low pop servers. Trust me, I remember the days when blizz released new servers once a month or less...and I rerolled every time a new server came out. Those days are long gone. The only time you'll see server movement is server merges. |

Diablo 3 is years away. Most likely late 2010 or early 2011. SC2 BABY! |

Have you seen your playtime or interested decline as you grow older? I'm 22 and currently not playing any MMORPG because they have been disappointments (Haven't played WAR--waiting a few months). I really want to get immersed into a game but the only one that has held my interest the longest is WoW--sadly. I prob won't see a good next-gen MMO until my 30s.

interesting... Well, I didn't upgrade my computer at all. Its an HP from bestbuy. It does come with 5 gigs. Have any idea how I got 5 if I didn't buy extra ram? I'm a gamer but I'm stupid in computer hardware. I just know ram=better. graphics card=better. |

Hey guys, I just bought a new computer and was astonished to learn that it came with five gigs of ram. I thought my old system was good with two. Anyone else have more than five? By the way, I wrote this message through voice chat on vista. It should be fun to see how games run now. I just need a new graphics card probably since you won't even need five gigs. |

This post is about fantasy MMOs. One of the most addicting factors in MMO's are wanting to get better gear. Let me explain why fantasy MMO's are messing up big time with gear distribution. When one maxes a certain level, the only difference between players is what gear they have on. Infact, gear could be much harder and take much longer to obtain then getting to max level--in the long run. Just like you can't skip levels...you shouldn't be able to skip levels in gear. The Item Building Method: You cannot earn gear B without earning gear A. A<B<C<D...ect. No one should be able to skip gear and go straight into the best peices. The Item Building Method should only be taken into account at MAX level. Conclusion: MMOs take an extremely large amount of time to play. They are an investment where one spends an average of 2-6 hours every day while paying a monthly cost. This isn't like watching tv passively. You are engaged in the game and involved more so then any other entertainment medium. People SHOULD take gear distribution seriously if they play the game seriously. |

Will probably be Warhammer Online vs. Wotlk. Please Oh Please will Warhammer be good! I can't take it anymore. WoW (10-11 million subs) needs some damn competition! Conan missed the target...is Warhammer next?
Will Warhammer get at LEAST 1 million subs? |
