I love to craft, Horizons was my first MMO, and had one of the best crafting of any MMO. mainly because it mattered. I always try to craft my own stuff in MMO's, but most are put in the game as an after thought. U get better gear and weapons from quest, or drops from mobs. Makes crafting dull, boring and worthless really fast. You find yourself doing something that doesnt make a difference or matter. Crafting should only be put in an MMO if it is going to be meaningfull and left out if they are only trying to get players who like to craft to play the game by putting it in even though its useless. |

ok, thanks so much for that info =)
cant wait for GW2 to launch ! |

Hi, I've never played GW, My question is, can any race play as any profession? |
|

I was just on it again, after being away for almost a year. I like it, but ive always liked Warhammer, the table game etc .. so for me its been fun to be back. I play a healer, ive noticed or it seems anyways that things are a little easier for me to kill, but for the most part i run around healing groupies .. something to do till GW2 comes out and i run off to try that. But i always have fun for a while when i go back to warhammer. I love the open world pvp; characters and class's . Sure the game could have been a lot better, but its not a bad game, there are a lot of others that are worse. I just hope when warhammer 40k comes out it will be a huge improvement over this game is all. |

When you take away Gear Progression Whats left??
MMORPG Game Concepts « Developers Corner 8/14/11 2:20:34 PM
Im not against getting gear, but all the games i can think of that do it this way, and its most all of them since wow started it. It makes it really hard for anyone that doesnt play that often. I find myself always out matched in PVP, left behind in RAIDs because everyone has finished that one and moved on to higher ones .. Gear doesnt have to be such a giant leap up from the gear before it. so its so unbalanced for the casual player they cant compete. I personally like skill games better, crafted gear and i think u could find reasons to Raid and PVP. There has to be ways to reward people for doing them with out unbalancing through outrageous gear , |

Why is Raiding so unpopular to the MMO Community?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 7/13/11 10:16:35 PM
everyone has said pretty much how i feel about it, but what the hey, Its repetative, you have to run them 40+ times just to get a piece of armor, and thats not the only reason it sux, it sux because everyone will tell u according to your class where to stand, and what to do. ITs like there is only one way to do this raid if you dont want to wipe and here it is, do it the exact same way each and every time and thats it ! if u dont u dont get invited back.
please ... for one, im tired of T1,2,3,4,x,x,x,x,x, gear .. give me something interactive with the world and people in the world to do at end game not some instanced 35-40 person raid to do over and over again just so i can qualify for the next Tier raid etc etc , rince and repeat .... |

World of Warcraft: Rifting into Azeroth
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/08/11 10:39:13 PM
let me add, one thing i do like about RIFT, the events do make the world more alive, and gives you tihngs to do, i was on 2 very populated servers, and yes, if u went to one that wasnt it makes it a bit harder to enjoy IMHO, but i always liked going to the events in the diff zones. beets the static worlds you get from most MMO's today. |

World of Warcraft: Rifting into Azeroth
News Discussion « General Discussion 7/08/11 10:34:58 PM
I played WOW soon after it launched, was playing Lineage II at the time. I started on a brand new server (Ursin) PVP server. and played Aliance, Horde out numbered us on that server big time. Remember going to strangle vale for the first time and all that was at the camp by the river was horde. I loved that game back then, when there was only 60 levels. If Blizzard would launch a server, call it a "Classic" server where you could play the original game levels 1-60 only, I would start all over again and make a character and play WOW once more. I have all the expansions, played 4 Allies up to lv 85, 4 horde up to lv 85, many lv 70+ characters, .. I liked to do the quest but seemed like the excitement i had when the game first launched is gone, and they never could get that back with each x-pack. I went to Rift, enjoy it, but there is nothing new, i like the pvp and souls a lot better than other MMO systems, but i dont care for the Gear grind and thats all WOW and other MMO's have become, a way to keep u hooked into playing for years, but that kind of carrot isnt for me. I wish Warhammer would have better reasons to world PVP and I'd be happy. maybe Planetside 2, i didnt play the first one, so who knows. ill keep looking. hoping, for an MMO that gives us fun things to do instead of grinding for T 1,2,3,4,5,& 6 gear. |

PvP-Server - constant harassment?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/30/11 9:52:34 PM
I love PVP, I usually join PVP servers because that is where you find the guilds that will make premades for warfronts/BG's and I have found that on PVE servers its very hard to get premades to do these type of events. But, of all the games ive played, ALL of the PVP servers were the same. High levels killing low levels who are just trying to do quest and level up. And for some reason, OVER 90% are all rogues because most people who go on a PVP server know that they plan to STEALTH over to their low~B victim and kill them. guess this is because they are worried if they could be seen their victim might run away, like that could happen, since higher levels usually have faster mounts etc, and can kill in 1 or 2 blows. And i play rogues also, but ive never ganked anyone less than 10 levels than myself, i find more gratification seeing the low level person surprised that i actually will help them than kill them when they couldnt hurt me if they wanted to. Warhammer was the most fun IMHO. ( sorry i never played DAOC so cant comment on how good it was but heard it was better than WH ) ... what i liked was, you had areas you can do quest and know you wasnt going to get killed by a high level "ROGUE" and public quest where you could find some pvp action, and PVP zones where you could find PVP action. You had everything on the same server .. PVE & PVP. TO me thats what a good PVP server is, not one that is full PVP so u know at low levels leveling is going to be hard because of the high level "ROGUES" ganking you. |

u dont get it yet, i dont mind and i know ill have to replace stuff, its that i dont feel i should replace stuff after the first quest, its like all that work for nothing, and its what it is, .. this game is starting to feel like its for little kids and they dont care the work you have put into things. |
|
|
No, all games are not like that, ive played lineage II , EQII and more that have had a lot of expansions come out and none of them ruin the game before by bloated stats on gear,
and its not even close to the last game, you go from 9k HP with the regular game, then go to 20+ with burning, then 50+ with northrend, now i see mages with over 95+ HP after just 5 more levels its over blown the way they have the new stats after every expac |

Helps new players chatch up ? please , if my epics are worth greens or blues at 85 then by the time a new person gets to 85 they have caught up ... am i wrong ? |
|
|
Is is just me or do others feel that Blizzard "RUINED" each expansion that came before with a new one ? I mean, you work very hard raiding, doing areana and BG's for that epic gear, only to have a new ex-pac come out and wash all that hard work down the drain on your very first quest that gives you a green item as a reward. Why do they have to have all the gear levels just blow the last games gear away .. I know i will have to replace that hard earned gear eventually but after the first quest? Shouldn't that hard earned epics at least be worth Blue or green gear at level 85? Why the HUGE leap for HP and gear levels after the first quest ? Im so tired of feeling like they dont care about what they put out before and that all my hard work goes for nothing as soon as they come out with another expansion. I can't think of any other game that does this. I wish Earth Rise was launching when they said it would in Q4 =( |

I played WAR when it first came out, like a lot of people, I left when i found that the RVR was empty and most pvp was being done in the SC's. I loved the art, the game's ideas seemed really neat, with the group quest area's etc, So i finally came back to give it a try when i heard it had a free unlimited trial (max lv 10 T1 area only) and i have to say, Ive been having a lot of fun again. There has been RVR going on every time i log in now. The pvp has been fun. I really think they fixed the game so that people want to play in the RVR areas . So, im glad to be back playing a PVP game, not a PVE game with PVP attached. JMO |

I started playing AION at launch. I loved L2 and thought id give AION a try also. I started playing a chanter and got it to level 35. Been in several legions, most of them small hoping to have a tight nit family of new friends to play with. We had fun for a short time but eventually people would leave for bigger legions because we where growing too slowly to enjoy the higher level content as a group. Even I started to get depressed as the legions i joined went no where. I finally got a friend to join and play thinking now id have people i knew to play with and would have a blast with. I even left the server i started playing on in order to follow the friend i just got to play to another server where he had 3 friends playing on at the time. All his friends left then he finally stopped showing up to play .. havent been able to talk to him so not sure why .. i got a sorcerer to level 32 on that server and again had trouble trying to find a legion that would be fun to belong to. Most of the well established legions now only seem to recruit LV40+ players. i dont find soloing that much fun on the game so ive not been playing any MMO at the moment .. |

Darkfall: Significant Player Model & Armor Upgrades Coming!
News Discussion « General Discussion 1/08/10 9:51:09 PM
I hate to say it, but, ive become a graphic Ho of sorts, if they can make better looking characters and help in the animation i might even give it a try .. but ive never been a huge fan of anyone can kill anyone games .. i'd prefure more than 2 factions actually , 2 just isnt enough .. 3 or more would make for a good game .. its nice to know that a few are not going to kill u, instead of will they or wont they in my book .. . just my opinion nothing more ... i know the game has races but it still doesnt keep them from trying to kill you even when they are the same race. |

I fail to see the point of MMO soloing
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/26/09 4:55:39 PM
If you are suggesting that all content, quest, raids etc should only be done by people in groups, then good luck with that. I agree MMO's are more fun in groups, but i also know that finding groups isnt always easy, biggest reason is, people are in a hurry to level and once they do something once they move on, i go days trying to find people to do my group quest with. Im glad i am able to level up doing quest with out having to find a group to do each one. Now raids are always done in groups, as far as i know .. so most MMO's have group content and solo conten, Most quest are soloable, and they also have a good amount of group quest to do .. but not where u cant keep leveling if you cant find a group.
so what do u want, no solo play at all ? guess i dont understand your line of thought here. |

First off, I am playing -and love the game so far, BUT !!! NCsoft has a bot report button that seems to make reporting bots EASY ! the problem is then, WHY do i see so many of them all the time ?!?! Last night my guildies and i went to the ASMO side and we killed over 105 BOTS in a small area, (half the lower map). We would find them in small bunches of 2's , a healer usually (chanter) and a gladiator were the norm. We seen maybe 12 real life players and that was only after we killed a few near a town and they called for help ... We tried to let them know we were only killing BOTS but they wanted to die also (made a private store saying "KILLING BOTS : DANGER STAY AWAY"). The point is .. these bots where between the levels of 34-42 .. u cant tell me with how easy it is to report the bots that they have never been reported before .. so why is it there are so many in just that little zone we where in, (imagine all the bots if u take in all the zones), if NCsoft is doing anything about it , why are there more bots than players? Because truely, i see more and more diff ones every day just on our side alone, its retarded and i think it will ruin the game long term. The people i see and talk with are getting fed up. |
